Generic STADIUM is a software shell which can provide design of experiment (DoE) capabilities to almost any simulator. This paper discusses enhancements to the first version of Generic STADIUM to add a more intuitive and interactive userinterface, to increase design of experiment capabilities and to automate optimization techniques. Representations of the graphical userinterface and information about the automated optimization capabilities are presented.

We design the collaborative distance home study system by using SDK (software development kit) of API (application interface) format on the DooRae framework (or platform) for an integrated home information service. It is implemented by the high technology of multimedia, information communication and software. This system is a low cost application system for the general home PC user. With the network environment of this system it is possible to construct a superhighway by connecting various network with the home network backbone POF (plastic optical fiber in the home) which is an IEEE 1394-1995 standard specification. We connected the Internet, intranet and various household electrical appliance (video, audio, PC, TV, phone, fax) with the home network backbone. Then we can use convenientiy/efficiently the multimedia home PC for the integrated home information service by the DooRae framework for an integrated information service. The Doorae distance home study system has many functions which are application (audio/video/text data, teaching materials, DB) sharing, white board to support interaction, a video window for participators, audio for dialogue, user's interface with icon and a environment configuration for collaborative multimedia distance education within the home. The technical components are composed of session management, access management, network control and media control.

Currently, the Web does not support distributed applications well. Existing approaches are oriented towards centralized applications at servers, or local programs within clients. To overcome this deficit, the PageSpace platform was designed for distributed, coordinated agents in the Web. We take a specific approach to coordinate agents in PageSpace applications, namely variants of coordination language Linda that support rules and services to guide their cooperation. This technology is integrated with the standard Web technology and the language Java. Several kinds of agents live in the PageSpace: userinterface agents, personal home agents, the agents that implement applications, and the kernel agents of the platform. Within the architecture it is possible to support fault tolerance and mobile agents as well.

System-level events, such as process switching and task migration, have a major effect on the performance of computer systems. "Smart" is a new simulation environment that extends existing simulators, such as MINT, with the capability to emulate the effect of such mechanisms. "Smart" provides a user friendly interface (GUI) that allows control of different system parameters and mechanisms e.g. the type of cache coherency protocols, cache organization, scheduling policies of processes and threads, etc. The Smart environment can be used either for monitoring, analyzing and measuring different system events, or as a powerful visual based debugging tool. This paper describes the "Smart" environment and demonstrates the importance of simulating system-level mechanisms and events in order to understand the overall performance of modern architectures. The Smart simulator presented here was developed to support the simulation of shared memory architectures, and we indicate that similar software environments can be developed to simulate other parallel and distributed architectures as well.

We have implemented a collaborative agent toolkit called Collagen and used it to build a software agent that collaborates with the user of a direct-manipulation graphical interface by following the rules and conventions of human discourse. One of the main results is an interfaction history that is segmented according to the structure of the agent's and user's goals, without requiring the agent to understand natural language.

The notion of inductive groups is presented as a mechanism for manipulating sets of related objects. The interactive behavior of such groups is discussed along with extensible algorithms for discovering inductive relationships in general. An application using these techniques is shown.
