Current assistive technologies are complicated, cumbersome, not portable, and users still need to apply extensive fine motor control to operate the device. Brain-Computer interfaces (BCIs) could provide an alternative approach to solve these problems. However, the current BCIs have low classification accuracy and require tedious human-learning procedures. The use of complicated Electroencephalogram (EEG) caps, where many electrodes must be attached on the user's head to identify imaginary motor commands, brings a lot of inconvenience. In this demonstration, we will showcase EXGbuds, a compact, non-obtrusive, and comfortable wearable device with non-invasive biosensing technology. People can comfortably wear it for long hours without tiring. Under our developed machine learning algorithms, we can identify various eye movements and facial expressions with over 95% accuracy, such that people with motor disabilities could have a fun time to play VR games totally "Hands-free".

Head Mounted Display (HMD) based Augmented Reality (AR) allows users to access digital information related to real world objects without being distracted from their real world task. With the introduction of the HoloLens (and increasingly other similar devices) a platform allowing wide spread practical application of such solutions has finally become available. However, today, not many such real world applications exist, and it is not yet fully understood which specific applications can benefit most from the technology in what form. As a promising novel application that optimally leverages the advantages of HMD based AR we propose a HoloLens based solution to support the debugging of electronic circuits. As a first step we have implemented a HoloLens interface to an oscilloscope. In this paper we describe the general idea, the fist implementation of the oscilloscope interface, and summarize initial qualitative feedback that we have received from users.

This paper describes the BumbAR approach for composing multimedia presentations and evaluates it through a qualitative study based on the technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The BumbAR proposal is based on the event-condition-action model of Nested Context Model (NCM) and explores the use of augmented reality and real-world objects (markers) as an innovative userinterface to specify the behavior and relationships between the media objects in a presentation. The qualitative study aimed at measuring the users' attitude towards using BumbAR and an augmented reality environment for authoring multimedia presentations. The results show that the participants found the BumbAR approach both useful and easy-to-use, while most of them (66,67%) found the system more convenient than traditional desktop-based authoring tools.

Model-based GUI exploration techniques are widely used to generate test cases for event-driven programs (such as Android apps). These techniques traverse the elements of screens during the user interaction and simultaneously construct the GUI model. Although there are a number of automatic model-based exploration tools, most of them pay more attention to the exploration procedure than the model reusing. This paper presents LAND, an effective and user-friendly test generation tool based on GUI exploration of Android apps, which constructs an elaborate window transition model "LATTE" that considers more Android specific characteristics and provides a customizable test generation interface by reusing the model. Experiments on 20 real-world Android apps are conducted to construct their models as well as test cases. The experimental results indicate that LAND can achieve higher code coverage and trigger exceptions in shorter sequence. It is also demonstrated that LATTE can be well reused under different requirements of test suite generation. A demo video of our tool can be found at the website https://***/watch?v=iqtr12eiJ_0.

Research has been done in sophisticated notifications, still, devices today mainly stick to a binary level of information, while they are either attention drawing or silent. We propose scalable notifications, which adjust the intensity level reaching from subtle to obtrusive and even going beyond that level while forcing the user to take action. To illustrate the technical feasibility and validity of this concept, we developed three prototypes. The prototypes provided mechano-pressure, thermal, and electrical feedback, which were evaluated in different lab studies. Our first prototype provides subtle poking through to high and frequent pressure on the user's spine, which significantly improves back posture. In a second scenario, the user is able to perceive the overuse of a drill by an increased temperature on the palm of a hand until the heat is intolerable, forcing the user to eventually put down the tool. The last application comprises of a speed control in a driving simulation, while electric muscle stimulation on the users' legs, conveys information on changing the car's speed by a perceived tingling until the system forces the foot to move involuntarily. In conclusion, all studies' findings support the feasibility of our concept of a scalable notification system, including the system forcing an intervention.

This paper proposes a method for automated userinterface testing of Windows-based applications to increase the accuracy in identifying the target widgets or executing several interactions. The key idea of this method is to generate new test scenarios from widgets and test specification where widgets are extracted during the execution of the application and test specification is generated by combining the interactions of widgets. Furthermore, the paper contributes some techniques to detect hidden widgets which considering as one of the most challenging problems in userinterface testing. Currently, a supporting tool has been implemented and tested with several industrial projects. The details of the experimental results will be presented and discussed.

A three-dimensional virtual object can be manipulated by hand and finger movements with an optical hand tracking device where it is necessary to recognize a posture of one's hand. Conventional hand posture recognition is based on three-dimensional coordinates of fingertips and a skeletal model of the hand [1]. It is difficult for conventional methods to estimate a posture of the hand when a fingertip is hidden from an optical camera. This study, therefore, proposes the estimation of a posture of a hand on the basis of a hand-dorsal image that can be taken even when the hand occludes its fingertips. A regression model that estimates a distance between fingertips of the thumb and forefinger was constructed using a convolution neural network (CNN) [2]. This work evaluated the root mean squared error (RMSE) of estimation. The RMSE of estimation based on a model on the same day was less than 1.8 mm, which shows that the proposed method could be an effective method where self-occlusion is a problem. This study also evaluates the robustness of the learning model to time variation.
