In presence of conflicting or ambiguous visual cues in complex scenes, performing 3D selection and manipulation tasks can be challenging. To improve motor planning and coordination, we explore audio-tactile cues to inform the user about the presence of objects in hand proximity, e.g., to avoid unwanted object penetrations. We do so through a novel glove-based tactile interface, enhanced by audio cues. Through two user studies, we illustrate that proximity guidance cues improve spatial awareness, hand motions, and collision avoidance behaviors. and show how proximity cues in combination with collision and friction cues can significantly improve performance.

MVC is a software design model invented by Xerox PARC for Smalltalk in the 1980s. It has been widely used in software design and development. Today's website systems are basically implemented according to the MVC design pattern. Therefore, using the characteristics of this design pattern can be used to check whether the user requirements are truly satisfied by analyzing the GUI(graphic userinterface) of the view layer. The approach adopted in this paper is: we model according to the system's GUI page and software requirements document, and finally match and check the two models to check whether the product meets the functional requirements in the requirements document. This greatly reduces the amount of work that testers must do when performing software product acceptance.

The braille literacy crisis is a reality among blind individuals. A major barrier is the high cost of technologies that support the learning process of braille. In this scenario, correlated works on the state of the art try to offer low-cost solutions which bring other adoption barriers. In this paper we aim to propose a modular computational architecture mediated by a minimal viable tangible userinterface (TUI) prototype. The proposed computational architecture is software-based only and intend to offer flexibility for different implementations on user activities based on any kind of braille literacy context. We conducted experiments with 4 blind literate subjects making use of a functional prototype instance of the specified architecture. The results showed that the use of a common haptic artifact for different kind of activities was accepted by the users and made them engaged do explore the tool. We concluded that our proposal solves the gap of low-cost braille technologies without additional barriers and has the potential to combat the braille literacy crisis with future development based on participatory design principles.

We suggest a windshield display interface showing the perceptive abilities and decision-making of an automated car while driving. We took a human-centered design approach to determine user expectations and requirements. We present our resulting interface prototype which runs in a mixed-reality environment. Gesture interaction has become indispensable for many mobile computing devices, such as mobile phones, tablets, and wearable devices. Nevertheless, the gesture interaction techniques of these devices cannot effectively recognize the movement of a single finger. In this article, we propose a gesture interaction method based on finger identification by the sEMG and implement applications for verification and demonstration. We designed an Air-Ukulele proptype and an interactive process based on finger movement detection with sEMG signals. Then, experiments involving 12 volunteers were conducted to evaluate the performance and user sensations of our interaction method. By analyzing collected data, we demonstrated sEMG based finger movement detection a relaxing, natural, and efficient interaction method with an overall accuracy at 82.6% and a potential interaction method for future Nature userinterface (NUI).
