In this paper, we propose a userinterface that enables multi-finger typing in the space behind a mobile device. By using the augmented reality (AR) technology, a virtual keyboard is superimposed on the rear camera image, and a hand region of the camera image is again superimposed on that image, which makes it possible to perform input operation as if there were a real keyboard. The system recognizes only key pressing actions and does not recognize a hand or fingers, which enables stable recognition and multi-finger input. Further, key typing at any place on a plane and in the air is possible. Demonstration using an experimental device showed that multi-finger input using a virtual keyboard displayed on the screen was realized.
We present an approach to access and consolidate complex information spanning multiple specialist domains and make it available to non-experts. We are using a combination of business rules and contextual exploration t...

Accompanying the rapid progressing of information and communication technology, the number of webbased mobile applications grows significantly. The web page design does bring different user experiences on various mobile devices. The Responsive Web Design (RWD) was the first trial to deal with this issue. RWD aimed at designing adaptive web interface for different mobile devices. However, RWD consider only the difference of devices, but not the users, especially the needs of elders. This paper proposes the Responsive Universal Design (RUD), an enhancement of RWD, to consider both the devices and users. A unique Universal user Profile (UUP) is maintained for each user on device. Based on UUP, CSS user Queries functions are used to adjust the userinterface dynamically with the best experience. RUD can increase the flexibility of web design, and improve user experience. A JavaScript library is implemented for build/load UUP, to parse user queries, and to apply CSS styles. This paper reports a critical step to create a universal and user-oriented web environment.

In this paper we describe the use and evaluation of CubIT, a multi-user, very large-scale presentation and collaboration framework. CubIT is installed at the Queensland University of technology's (QUT) Cube facility. The "Cube" is an interactive visualisation facility made up of five very large-scale interactive multi-panel wall displays, each consisting of up to twelve 55-inch multi-touch screens (48 screens in total) and massive projected display screens situated above the display panels. The paper outlines the unique design challenges, features, use and evaluation of CubIT. The system was built to make the Cube facility accessible to QUT's academic and student population. CubIT enables users to easily upload and share their own media content, and allows multiple users to simultaneously interact with the Cube's wall displays. The features of CubIT are implemented via three userinterfaces, a multi-touch interface working on the wall displays, a mobile phone and tablet application and a web-based content management system. The evaluation reveals issues around the public use and functional scope of the system. Categories and Subject Descriptors H.5.2 [Information interfaces and presentation]: Graphical userinterfaces (GUI), user-centred design General Terms Human Factors;Design;Experimentation.
