This presentation will describe the activities and directions of acm SIGGRAPH, the leading international professional society for computergraphics and interactivetechniques. It will present the events and materials that are available to the computergraphics community through acm SIGGRAPH and invite attendees to become involved with the organization and its many activities that take place throughout the year and around the world. In addition to the large annual conference, acm SIGGRAPH has a very active Education Committee, more than a dozen focused symposia and workshops, liaisons with other professional societies, over thirty professional and student chapters, and many other new and ongoing projects. This presentation will include industrial announcements and video pieces from the SIGGRAPH 2001 conference in August, *** R.
