In 2015, Brazil enacted Law No. 13,146 (Statute of Persons with Disabilities), establishing a new range of rights for people with disabilities. Among the changes made was the inclusion of good practices in the concept of accessibility, including the digital realm. This paper presents the results of a Systematic Literature Review regarding the works presented at the Brazilian symposium on humanfactors in computingsystems from 2016 to 2022, with the aim of evaluating the impact of Digital Accessibility initiatives after the enactment of the mentioned law. The objective is to reveal part of the event’s history, highlighting the needs imposed by the law. The study analyzed 406 papers from the event deposited in the ACM Digial Library, selecting 91 of them (22.4%). The results showed that visual impairment is the most addressed theme, present in 33 papers (36.2%). Also, there are 254 different researchers working on this topic in Brazil and other countries. Surprisingly, only 21 (23%) of the papers mention any laws, showing that there is neglect or lack of knowledge regarding Brazilian laws on accessibility.

human Values, the fourth challenge listed in the Grand Research Challenges in human-Computer Interaction in Brazil (GranDIHC-BR), between 2012 and 2022, presents aspects of Ethics alongside Privacy and Post-death Digital Legacy. The field of Ethics analyses practices, their principles, customs, and habits. Since computational techniques are not neutral and, to a large extent, they are embargoed from technological determinisms, ethical analysis and evaluation are necessary to design computational solutions and theoretical or conceptual research. Eight years after the publication of the GranDIHC-BR, this work aims to understand how researchers have addressed the ethical aspects by analyzing the publications of the IHC-BR: the Brazilian symposium on humanfactors in computingsystems, the leading conference dedicated to HCI in Brazil. Thus, we conducted a Systematic Literature Review guided by the main research question: how does ethics permeate research published between 2006 and 2020? As a result, although less than 5% of the papers discussed ethical content, we observed a significant growth in ethical aspects over the years, both associated with the epistemology of research and its application.

The main goal of this paper is to characterize the concept and emerging paradigm of human-Computer Integration (HInt) in terms of its definition, its relationship with HCI, as well as its opportunities and challenges for HCI. To achieve this goal, we conducted a Systematic Literature Review. As contribution, this paper helps the HCI community: 1) to expand its knowledge in relation to this new concept/paradigm and 2) to direct its efforts and contributions towards the consolidation and evolution of human-Computer Integration (Hint) as a new HCI paradigm.

The recent growth in the use of customizable software and systems by users with little or no specific knowledge in the field of computing has encouraged collaboration between users and user adherence to a role previously assigned to the designer. The alternation of the subject in the roles of user and designer may cause conflicts in the interpretation of metacommunication messages. This research sought to analyze these conflicts during the interaction on a video sharing platform, YouTube, using the principles of Hegelian Dialectic. For this, a case study was carried out with the methods of Semiotic Engineering, the Semiotic Inspection Method (SIM), and the Communicability Evaluation Method (CEM), followed by a dialectical analysis of the results. The results obtained opens reflections on possible conflicts of interpretation in the metacommunication messages of the interface when the user alternates between the roles of designer and user at the time of interaction and, with this, facilitate the elaboration and evaluation of interfaces more adequate to the requirements determined in the pre-production.

Digital memorial services are solutions surrounded by technical, legal and cultural aspects, which are sensitive and still in the process of exploration and consolidation. Different works on this theme have been produced in recent years, dealing with different contexts and solutions for these systems. There emerges, then, the need to converge the contributions of works on this theme. Thus, this research aims to systematize recommendations for the project of digital memories, considering Brazilian contexts and cultures. To this end, recommendations were extracted from different authors mapped out in a bibliographic survey of works in the area of human-Computer Interaction in Brazil. In the systematization stage we proposed four categories for digital memorials. The recommendations were divided into macro themes, sometimes subdivided into micro themes, by means of an interpretive and associative analysis. As a result, a set of six macro themes is presented, with eleven micro themes, which totaled one hundred and forty-six useful recommendations to designers of digital memorials.
