This paper is concerned with distributed receding horizon prediction for continuous-time linear stochastic systems with multiple sensors. A distributed fusion with the weighted sum structure is applied to the optimal local receding horizon predictors. The distributed prediction algorithm represents the optimal linear fusion by weighting matrices under the minimum mean square criterion. The algorithm has the parallel structure and allows parallelprocessing of observations making it reliable since the rest faultless sensors can continue to the fusion estimation if some sensors occur faulty. The derivation of equations for error cross-covariances between the local predictors is the key of this paper. Example demonstrates effectiveness of the distributed receding horizon predictor.

Grid computing is a fundamental technology for large scale distributed resource sharing. Workflow management is becoming one of the most important Grid services. A lot of research work has been done on different issues involved in workflow management systems. The focus of this paper is on three areas: workflow partitioning, enactment and data movement. A new workflow management system called parallel and distributed workflow management system (PDWMS) is proposed. In this system the execution of workflow is done by a network of collaborative engines. To achieve this target, the original abstract workflow (input of the system) is partitioned into parallel parts, using a new proposed partitioning algorithm. PDWMS's data movement, which is categorized into local and global models, uses a peer-to-peer approach.

Resource performance monitoring is among the most active research topics in distributed computing. In this paper, we propose an adaptive resource monitoring method for applications in heterogeneous computing environment. According to the operating environment of distributed heterogeneous system and the changes of system resource workload, the method combines periodic pull mode with event-driven push mode to adaptively publish and retrieve system resource information. Preliminary experiments reveal that, by using our adaptive monitoring method, the efficiency of system monitoring is improved over that accrued by using regular monitoring approaches.

This paper first described the ieee 802.11 MAC layer access control mechanism, that is, the DCF access control mechanism, analysis the basic DCF back-off algorithm BEB. Next, we study a variety of improved BEB algorithms, and then we proposed ZDCF back-off algorithm which is an exponential-based half back-off algorithm. ZDCF is flexible, easy to implement and has excellent performance as BEB algorithms when there is small scale of nodes, while at same time avoiding the shortcomings of BEB algorithm when there is large scale of nodes.

Most traditional distributed Shared Memory (DSM) systems support data sharing in multi-process applications. This paper proposed a Multi-threaded Multi-home DSM system (MM-DSM) to support both data sharing and computation synchronization in multi-threaded applications whose threads are grouped into bundles and distributed across multiple computers for parallel execution. Globally shared data are rearranged and assigned to different thread bundles based on their access patterns. As thread bundles move around, their hosting nodes will act as the homes of the associated data blocks to reduce communication cost. Programmers can still stick to the shared memory programming paradigm whereas data consistency, distributed lock, false sharing and multiple writes are taken care of by MM-DSM. Experimental results demonstrate its effectiveness and correctness.
