This study investigates the nonlinear vibration of three-stage 3D beams under external forces, with a focusing on internal resonance phenomena arising from geometric variations. By adjusting length and diameter ratios, a 1:3 internal resonance is induced. The analysis primarily examines transverse and lateral coupling effects. The method of multiple scales (MOMS) addresses nonlinear dynamics, utilizing fixed-point plots to assess amplitude and frequency responses under various external forces. Numerical methods are utilized to validate theoretical predictions. Two damping rings are added to the beam to improve vibration damping. Their impact on the main system's vibration damping is analyzed to mitigate internal resonance and optimize vibration reduction. The findings are summarized using a three-dimensional maximum amplitude contour map. Experimental results and theoretical validation confirm the optimal damping effect achieved with the installed damping rings on the three-stage beam model under free boundary conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

Named Entity Recognition (NER) aims to locate and identify entities with specific meaning in text. The NER problem can usually be regarded as a type of sequence labeling problem. The key to solving this type of problem lies in determining the boundaries and categories of entities. However, due to the fuzziness of entity boundaries and limitations at the labeling level, most existing NER models introduce vocabulary information loss and The problem of entity boundary recognition error. To this end, a named entity recognition method based on the boundary-aware attention mechanism is proposed. By introducing pointer annotation to construct the boundary position vector, a sequence annotation layer that fuses the boundary position information is established to fully exploit the boundary characteristics of the entity. On the basis of integrating the boundary position vector, the lattice structure of the text information is converted into a planar structure composed of spans, a dynamic position encoding strategy is designed based on pointer annotation, and then the semantics of the label of the entity annotation and the entity boundary position are learned based on the generative adversarial network Similarity, and improve entity recognition performance by introducing information of entity boundary pointers in the weight calculation of the attention mechanism. Experimental results on weibo and Chinese-Literature-NER data sets show that the proposed method has obvious advantages in accuracy and F1 index compared with the baseline method, verifying the effectiveness of the attention mechanism based on boundary awareness in named entity recognition. © 2025 SPIE.

Information is the key to success in every domain;this statement also applies to cryptocurrencies and blockchain domains. Beginning with Bitcoin back in 2009, which the anonymous Japanese Satoshi Nakamoto launched, blockchain technology emerged. This technology has revolutionized and continues to do so in digital transactions. In addition, this technology led to the further development of other cryptocurrencies that are active at these moments on the market. One class of cryptocurrencies obtained differently from classical bitcoin is those obtained due to web-based mining. The most known coins of this type are Monero, Dash, or Electroneum. This paper aims to analyze the web-based mining process of Monero and the whole process's security. In addition, we want to explore the performance of the mining processes used in the user's web browser. Moreover, finally, we aim to research the profitability of coins obtained due to web-browser mining, having as an object of study the cryptocurrency Monero. © 2023 IEEE.

The Arduino platform has long been an efficient tool in teaching electrical engineering technology, electrical engineering, mechatronics, and computer science concepts in schools and universities and to introduce new learners to programming and microcontrollers. Numerous Arduino projects are widely available through the open-source community. They can help students have hands-on experience in building circuits and programming electronics with a wide variety of topics that can make learning electrical prototyping fun. However, the educational fields of electrical engineering and electrical engineering technology need continuous updating to keep up with the continuous evolution of the computer system. Although the traditional Arduino platform has proved to be an effective tool for teaching electrical engineering concepts for many years since its release, another tool has recently been introduced within the open-source community, a virtual simulation software for the Arduino platform that may provide more educational benefits. This paper discusses how using Arduino simulators can potentially engage K-12 students in a learning experience, which can further lead them to computer science, mechatronics, electrical engineering, and electrical engineering technology career pathways. The paper also presents sample Arduino projects showcased through readily available Arduino simulators. © American Society for engineering Education, 2023.

This paper discusses the development of an advanced robotic system equipped with a computer vision system for use in greenhouses to identify and harvest ripe, unripe, and diseased tomatoes. The system operates in two modes, harvesting and pruning, and is implemented using a raspberry pi and free software libraries such as Python, OpenCV, and PyTorch. The vision system utilizes YOLOv3 deep neural network for classification and MiDaS for depth estimation, and a graphical user interface is included for communication with the farmer. © 2023 IEEE.

For the problem of oxide layer spalling caused by corrosion in supercritical power plant boiler tubes, which can lead to blockage of steam flow and even boiler tube burst accidents, this paper adopts a high-temperature oxidation stress growth model to calculate the scaling stress change and spalling time of boiler tubes, providing a basis for the prevention of corrosion and oxide layer spalling in boiler tube walls. The study found that the growth stress of the oxide layer varies parabolically with its thickness. When the growth stress reaches the critical strain of the oxide layer/metal substrate system, the oxide layer spalls. The shutdown and startup temperature differences of the boiler have a significant effect on oxide layer spalling, and a temperature difference control of 4-14°C/min is less likely to cause oxide layer spalling. © 2024 SPIE.

As cyber-physical systems, power networks exchange data to ensure smooth operation. Through communication networks, the exchanged data becomes vulnerable to cyberattacks where malicious entities establish malevolent connections to falsify the data, which exploit the data integrity, leading to network instability. Machine learning-based solutions have been proposed to identify such malevolent actions, including false data injection attacks. This paper aims to (a) enhance the attack detection performance and (b) quantify the performance of non-recurrent and recurrent machine learning-based attack detection systems against multiple replay attacks that involve falsifying data via presenting normal operation patterns from previous timestamps. It turns out that capturing temporal aspects from the data using recurrent models outperforms non-recurrent models by 5-32% in accuracy (ACC). Specifically, we propose a recurrent graph neural network (RGNN) model that captures the temporal and spatial aspects of the network data. The RGNN model outperforms non-recurrent models by 14-32% and other recurrent models by 6-13% in ACC. The experiments are conducted on IEEE 14, 39, and 118-bus power networks where the model performance is enhanced (by up to 8% in ACC) in larger systems due to capturing more spatial and temporal features. © 2024 IEEE.

Regular expression matching based on FPGA has been widely used in many fields due to its high efficiency. However, FPGA hardware resources are limited, so it is necessary to optimize the utilization of circuit resources by minimizing the number of components and memory resources. When the regular expression has repeated qualification rules and range matching rules, the syntax tree generated by Mcnaughton's MY algorithm is too long, resulting in the mapped circuit structure being too complex. An improved algorithm based on list storage is presented, which can effectively solve the resource waste caused by repeated qualification and range-matching rules. The implementation process of the MY algorithm was initially introduced in this paper, and the stored table algorithm was proposed. Subsequently, the circuit mapping algorithm was extended, and the accuracy and resource consumption of the algorithm was simulated using the Vivado platform. It is indicated by the results that the resource consumption caused by the repeated constraint rule "{}"and the range matching rule "[]"can be effectively reduced by the list storage algorithm, with the most resource-saving rule achieving up to 95% resource savings. © 2024 SPIE.

The rapid advancement of industrial automation has underscored the significance of sophisticated control mechanisms for robotic manipulators, especially seven-axis manipulators, known for their flexibility and capability in handling complex tasks. Traditional control methods often struggle with adaptability and managing nonlinear, uncertain environments. To address these challenges, this paper proposes an adaptive imitation learning-based control strategy for seven-axis manipulators. First, the adaptive imitation learning algorithm is introduced and its applicability to manipulator control is analyzed. Then, a reinforcement learning based model of the seven-axis manipulator is established and simulated in a virtual environment to verify the algorithm's effectiveness. Finally, the limitations of the adaptive imitation learning algorithm in the context of manipulator control are discussed, and future research directions are outlined. This study not only offers a novel control strategy for seven-axis manipulators but also serves as a reference for the broader application of adaptive imitation learning algorithms in various domains. © 2024 IEEE.

In today's competitive global markets, customers are demanding adjustable lot sizes, shorter lead times, higher quality and flexibility. In order to stay competitive in the market, companies need to attain both customer satisfaction and cost reduction in production operations. Material Handling Systems (MHS) is the place to accomplish this goal, since they have a direct impact on production. One of such system is the incorporation of material handling concept in production processes, which robotics serves as the major aspect. This paper focuses on the design of robotic arm for packaging Roselle tea in a process plant. The 3D model of the robotic arm was designed on Solid works computer Aided Design (CAD) application software. It is a 4 Degree of Freedom computer controlled, programmable multifunctional manipulator consisting of a movable base (pitch 1800), three links (connected by revolute joints), shoulder pitch: 90°, elbow pitch: 90° and the end effector;a cup with payload capacity: 50 gm, wrist pitch: 180°. Various aspects of the design include: Mechanical design of the robotic arm, torque calculation for each joint, kinematics modeling (direct kinematics and inverse kinematics) and programming of the controller. The simulation results will show the responses similar to a physical model. This method will help to reduce the need for testing on physical systems as long as the model sufficiently represents robotic arm to be built. © 2024 IEEE.
