University students are especially susceptible to the negative effects of mental stress in today's environment, which is a serious issue overall. A great deal of pressure is now being placed on a period of life that was traditionally considered to be the most carefree. People in today's culture are exposed to increasingly high levels of mental stress, which has been related to a broad variety of health problems, such as depression, suicide, heart attacks, and strokes. Because of this, in order to primarily extract, for the purposes of this research, the mental stress ratings of university students, we applied a total of six distinct machine learning methods. The Decision Tree Classifier, the Random Forest Classifier, the SVC, the KNN Classifier, the Multinomial NB, and the K-Nearest Neighbors Regressor are only some of the machine learning algorithms that are available. This investigation's principal objective is to determine the percentage of students who are struggling to deal with emotional pressure in their lives. The dataset was put together by hand with paper and manual information obtained from a survey. Out of the six distinct classification strategies, the Decision Tree Classifier and the Random Forest Classifier both achieved a test result of 0.99, which is the maximum score that can be achieved. © 2023 SPIE. KNN is an important part of classification algorithms in machine learning, which has been extensively employed in various fields. In this research, we proposed a Lp Norm-Based Local Means k-Nearest Neighbor Classification with Feature Reduction. We extend the original Euclidean distance formula, and obtain the distance calculation formula based on P-value. Then classify and predict the data set after dimension reduction. In the experiment, we verified the effectiveness and superiority of our method by setting different k values in KNN, LMKNN and the classification accuracy obtained by our methodology (PLMKNN). © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a case study on adaptive one pedal driving for a battery electric sport utility vehicle with in wheel based rear-wheel drive that is able to adjust the drive pedal curve automatically. In addition, a fuzzy logic observes the state of the electric machines to adapt the motor torque to the most efficient region. The control method was tested in a co-simulation using a validated vehicle model and a driver-in-the-loop strategy. Within the experiments, an improvement in energy recovery of up to 4.8 % was achieved compared to the classic brake blending. In addition, the total number of brake pedal applications is ten times lower, which translates into less driving stress and greater driving comfort, especially on long distance trips, proving the effectiveness of the controller. © 2025 IEEE.

Gas disaster has always been a major safety problem in the coal mine field. The prediction of gas concentration in fully mechanized mining face is of great significance to ensure the safety of mine production and the safety of underground personnel. A long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network model based on time series is proposed for the prediction of gas concentration. Since there are many factors affecting the gas emission and there is a complex nonlinear relationship between them, a method of data preprocessing is proposed to weaken the data volatility, combined with the powerful GPU function of the computer, to build an LSTM neural network in the Tensorflow environment Gas Emission Prediction Model, using root mean square error (RMSE) and running time, for evaluating forecast performance. The prediction results are compared with the SVR network, and the results show that the LSTM model has higher prediction accuracy and prediction stability. © 2023 SPIE.

Catheter-tissue contact force(CF) has been reported as one of the success factors of heart ablation surgery. Monitoring and controlling the CF are challenging processes due to the limitation of sensing technologies and robotic surgery systems. In the present study, an image-based and sensor-less CF controller system is proposed that benefits from a neural force feedback estimator. Firstly, a real-time and accurate force feedback element was designed and evaluated to estimate the CF directly from the image of the ablation catheter's deflections during the surgery. This learning-based force estimator successfully could provide CF with a mean absolute error of 0.012 ± 0.01 N and it was implemented in a closed-loop controller as a feedback element. Then, an experimental setup including the ablation catheter manipulator mechanism and a camera was designed to evaluate the performance of the CF controller for static and dynamic input CFs. The evaluation tests showed that the system can maintain the CF with root-mean-squared(RMS) error of 0.01 ± 0.01 N for static test and RMS error of 0.04 ± 0.03 N for a dynamic input force. © 2023 IEEE.

The Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) software for scientific image analysis poses both an assignment and an opportunity to discover the spatiotemporal context to perceive significant patterns within scientific images. This paper investigates the finite-time boundedness (FTB) and robust control of switched linear systems with unstable systems (SLS-US) by utilizing mode-dependent average dwell time (MDADT). Due to the consideration of the presence of unstable subsystems in our work, this paper distinguishes between switching signals in stable and unstable cases based on the characteristic of allowing each subsystem to have independent average dwell time (ADT) according to MDADT. Stable subsystems utilize slow MDADT (SMDADT), whereas unstable subsystems employ fast MDADT (FMDADT). This switching behaviour effectively addresses the energy increment caused by the divergence of unstable systems. This paper presents the necessary conditions to achieve the H∞ performance index within the SLS-US. Moreover, it outlines the design of a state-feedback controller aimed at resolving the H∞ control problem within the closed-loop system. The verification of the proposed result is conducted through linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, the paper confirms the practicality of the proposed theory. © 2024 SPIE.

Data is collected and forwarded to the cluster head by sensor nodes in the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). Ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of the data that must be provided to the base station is tough. We recommend using a simple Caesar cipher and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) technique at the cluster head node level for effective communication from the cluster head to the base station with little power consumption. © Grenze scientific Society, 2024.
