This article introduces a Generative Adversarial Network tailored for medical imaging, in particular designed to synthesize retinal images alongside side their segmented mask. This innovation addresses the challenge of obtaining big datasets for deep getting to know, in particular in scientific fields wherein expert annotations are high priced and time-ingesting. It not satisfactory generates fantastic synthetic scientific pics for supervised analysis but moreover achieves cutting-edge day overall performance with dice coefficients of 0.837 on the STARE dataset and 0.832 on the dataset, surpassing present techniques. With the development of agricultural science and technology and the improvement of labor cost, fruit and vegetable picking robots have gradually become a research hotspot in the field of agricultural mechanization. As a key component of fruit and vegetable picking robot, the performance of end-effector directly affects the quality, speed and success rate of picking. In this paper, through the introduction of domestic and foreign fruit and vegetable picking end-effector gripping mode, driving mode, separation mode, etc., we analyze the existing problems of the end-effector, and look forward to the future research direction of the end-effector from the aspects of lightweight, modularization and so on. © 2024 The Authors.

The proposed system in this paper utilizes drones and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for fire detection. Traditional smoke sensors can be slow and cost-inefficient, making them less suitable for early fire detection. The authors analyze the scope of CNN and related methodologies for detecting fire and propose a novel system that uses optical cameras mounted on drones to detect and identify forest fire threats in real-time. The system also aims to notify interested parties and authorities by providing alerts and important information such as the specific location and environmental conditions. The use of drones equipped with optical cameras is an innovative approach to early fire detection. The ability of drones to capture images and transmit them in real-time enables the detection and identification of forest fires as they occur. The use of CNN allows for the efficient and accurate analysis of the captured images, resulting in a reliable detection system. Additionally, the system can send alerts to authorities and interested parties, allowing for timely and appropriate action to be taken. Overall, the proposed system has the potential to revolutionize early fire detection and response. The use of modern technology such as drones and CNN can greatly improve the efficiency and accuracy of fire detection, ultimately leading to a safer and more secure environment. © 2023 IEEE.

Grapevine is one of the most important crops cultivated across Europe. Climate factors and diseases constantly threaten its production. Recently, Flavescence dorée (FD), an incurable grapevine disease with the obligation to uproot each infected plant, has been widely spread in Europe. The symptoms of FD are visually expressed in the late summer. Currently, the adopted procedure consists in scouting for infected plants by trained experts, which is time-consuming and not frequent enough. As stress development causes subtle spectral changes before any visible symptoms appear, during the summer of 2022, hyperspectral and multispectral images were acquired in the two vineyards near Riva del Garda, Trentino, Italy. A classification accuracy between 90.2 % and 96.9 % in distinguishing between infected and healthy plants was obtained from the hyperspectral data. These findings justify further efforts to use an in-house developed, affordable multispectral camera, significantly reducing equipment cost and procedure complexity while mapping the relevant spectral channels. © 2023 IEEE.

The Dynamic Window Approach (DWA) suffers from unreasonable planning or is prone to obstacle avoidance failure when the mobile agent operates in a complex environment with dense obstacle distribution. An improved DWA path planning algorithm (IDWA) is proposed to address the above problems. Firstly, the heading angle function is modified to improve navigation ability for mobile agent reaching at the target point while ensuring operational safety. Secondly, the obstacle function is optimized to avoid the agent going around the obstacle's edge. Finally, a complex scenario with multiple obstacles of different passing difficulties is constructed to verify the feasibility of the proposed method. Simulation experiments show that IDWA significantly improves the agent's passage efficiency and local search ability, and the path planning is more reasonable with smaller path deviation and heading deviation. © 2023 SPIE.

Landsat images are essential in geoinformatics and earth observation. However, clouds frequently contaminate satellite images, making cloud removal increasingly necessary due to the growing demand for satellite imagery applications. In order to improve the quality of Landsat imagery, we suggest a novel Time-Varying Features Neural Network (TVFN-N) that consists of several modules: cloud detection, a learning module, feature fusion, and image reconstruction. Metrics including the Structural Similarity Index (SSIM), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR) are used to assess how effective the reconstructed images are as individuals. Our tests show that the suggested strategy is quantitatively successful, obtaining an RMSE of less than 0.0179. TVFN-N shows significant improvement in reconstructing Landsat images using multitemporal methods compared to older deep learning techniques. Additionally, we compared our approach using cutting-edge deep learning models and produced more accurate outcomes for jobs involving cloud removal. © 2024 IEEE.

Frequency diverse arrays (FDA) can produce a periodic S-shaped pattern due to the added frequency diversity to the array. The auto-scanning capability in FDAs is obtained by applying between the element's small frequency offsets. Contrary to conventional arrays, the auto-scanning pattern occurs in FDAs without employing phase shifters in the feeding network, although controlling the time behavior of the main beam is a serious challenge in these arrays. The FDA radiation patterns behavior in space and time are co-related, and both geometry and frequency distribution affect the scanning rate and the side lobes of the pattern. Designing FDA geometries for single or multiple steering angles can be carried out by optimization techniques, but due to the various variety of scanning angles, the same technique cannot be applied to designing the scanning pattern. One-dimensional FDAs showed a comparable scanning pattern with phased arrays, although the scanning pattern performance of planar FDAs for different geometry and frequency distribution is still unknown. In this paper, several planar geometries and frequency distributions are designed and simulated, and based on the simulation results, an efficient discular FDA with a time-invariant scanning pattern is suggested. © 2023 IEEE.

The global economy is undergoing a remarkable transformation due to the witnessed scientific revolution, where new products and services are introduced. Consequently, a knowledge-based world economy emerged with Intellectual Property at its core. One of the substantial types of intellectual property is Trademark. It is a valuable intangible asset that opens doors for a wide span of opportunities that promote innovation and create jobs. Trademarks are tremendously important for countries' economic development and global competitiveness. Therefore, effective trademark protection is a crucial issue. Countries set strong legal measures to protect trademark ownership and registration rights. Unfortunately, present trademark management systems have several problems including centralizations, lengthy procedures, amount of paperwork, cost and lack of secured authentication method. To overcome these shortcomings and develop an enhanced business model that is consistent with the level of importance of the trademark industry, trademark registration systems need to be significantly improved using the most advanced technologies. Blockchain is considered an ideal solution to address trademark management system issues and support efficient trademark management operations due to its unique characteristics of authenticity, traceability, decentralization and trust. This research developed a blockchain system that supports new trademark application submission, objection submission and decision, cryptocurrency payment, automated final registration and announcement and reporting processes. The deployment and testing of our Ethereum smart contract were completed successfully and demonstrated accurate and effective performance of system operations. © 2023 IEEE.

Virtual reality and immersive environments are key research areas with wide applications in scientific and educational fields. These technologies require new approaches for interactive features, demanding innovative narratives and user relationships. As ICT advances, it is crucial to develop new methods for information representation and user interaction within immersive environments. Virtual reality and related technologies on the virtuality continuum are emerging as powerful media for constructing and representing ideas. This review examines the latest capabilities of immersive digital technologies and their future potential. We discuss the evolution of these technologies, including virtual reality, and their applications in various scientific, artistic, informational, and educational contexts. We conclude that virtual reality is both a technological innovation and a concept that can integrate with user experience (UX) and interaction design, aiding in the creation of new experiences and expressive models for diverse research and educational domains. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper aims to introduce the application of computer-aided translation software in EST translation. At present, most scientific and technological academic works, papers and materials are written in English. To master these knowledge, translation is required. At the number of these documents, people put forward higher requirements for scientific and Technological English translation, which requires both accuracy and timeliness of translation. In this case, the can no longer meet people’s growing demand for translation. 50. A. kondrakov á et al. (2004) published the first study translation in EST, which is part of the project "computer-aided translation of European legal texts". The purpose of the project is to develop a tool for computer-aided translation of legal texts as an alternative to the traditional Czech translation method.
