In the era of development of telecommunication technologies, triple-play services via IP networks in real time are of considerable interest both for operators of transport and on-board systems, and for consumers of services. One of the characteristic features of real-time applications is their sensitivity to delays and data packet losses. Even small packet transmission failures can lead to a significant decrease in the quality of audio and video programs. All this imposes additional requirements on operators of transport and on-board systems delivering audio and video streams to content providers, which should be taken into account in their SLA agreements. The article discusses the requirements for IP network operators to deliver audio and video streams with proper quality, and provides an approach to evaluating the operator's performance when switching to SLA work. © 2023 IEEE.

Digital laboratory work based on specialized hardware and software complexes is being actively implemented as part of the educational process. There is a strict time limit for students to perform a laboratory work, with a large amount of measurements needed. Because of this, it is necessary to optimize the workflow of educational test cases. This is unattainable when using several software products (that are not related to each other and even do not have compatible data exchange formats or protocols) within the same work. This article discusses the existing model of laboratory work, and ways to increase performance of students in the educational process. ©2024 IEEE.

This article uses the previously presented method [1] of joint estimation of range and radial velocity in short-range radars using one ultra-wideband signal with discrete frequency coded waveform (DFCW). The core of the method is the use of the expression of the two-dimensional digital compression function of the output of the radar receiver ADC. The results of the practical implementation of this method are presented in a radar with a generation circuit using a phase-locked loop (PLL) generator, direct digital synthesis generator (DDS) and a quadrature modulator (IQ modulator). The results of the method are compared for signals with linear and pseudo-random frequency codes. The results of the method after using the calibration algorithm are presented. © 2020 IEEE.

This article deals with the generating of pseudorandom Gordon-Mills-Welch sequences with good autocorrelation properties for use in communication and data transmission systems, as spectrum-expanding sequences, scrambling and synchronization functions. Nowadays, there is a significant issue of pure detecting of signals in various types of radio channel. The proper solution of this issue provides new opportunities in the future research. The most important aim of usage of pseudo-random sequences is the reducing of influence of negative effects of channel and maximizing the probability of detecting the low-rate signal because of the unique form of autocorrelation function. Due to this feature, they are commonly used in the area of radars. The main goal of the article is to find out the exact types of Gordon-Mills-Welch sequences with suitable autocorrelation properties. ©2024 IEEE.

A well-known complex of methods for converting signals into binary digital form is shown, potential theoretically achievable boundaries of such conversions are determined. Values are calculated that indicate the value of the code distance between the original values and those obtained after transformation. Euclidean space metric. A correspondence is established between these messages and binary code combinations in the Hamming space. It is proved that in some cases the values that determine the distance between messages and the metric are quite general and should be clarified for specific situations. Distortion minimization is suitable for cases where the minimum code distances of the primary metric space are related to the minimum code distances of the secondary metric space. And also in the article the admissible limits of such minimization are found. © 2021 IEEE.

The methodology is intended to solve the problem of the layout solutions' optimisation of high heat flux on-board radars' structures of small-sized aircraft forced air cooling systems with a limited air flow. The methodology is characterized by a systematic approach and includes solving the external and internal problem of providing the normal thermal regime of the airborne radar structure via optimizing its layout solutions at the early stages of design. The solution of the external problem is the determination of the permissible aerodynamic drag of the structure, with a restriction on the cooling air flow. The solution of the internal problem is the determination of the optimal layout design. The optimisation criteria is the minimum temperature of the airborne radar components, with a restriction on the aerodynamic drag. The field of application of the results obtained is the systems of forced air cooling of electronic devices and devices operating under conditions of a limited flow of cooling air. © 2021 IEEE.

In this paper we discuss the problem of dynamic measurements of digital measuring device for on-board radio electronic equipment. For such a measuring device, when a moving object moves under conditions of influencing noise, the accuracy of measurements decreases. The problem of increasing the accuracy of such dynamic measurements is considered. This article proposes the method for increasing accuracy for on-board radio electronic digital device applied at the moving object with on-board electronic equipment. Theoretical consideration of the accuracy of navigational determinations of the onboard measuring device under noise conditions and taking into account the object's movement dynamics is carried out. The article provides a theoretical analysis and computer simulation of the considered digital measuring device for on-board radio electronic equipment. It has been found that when combining on-board navigation and radio communication facilities are usually used to improve the accuracy of navigation determinations by implementing differential operating modes, it is possible to improve the accuracy of dynamic measurements. © 2023 IEEE.

The reliability of the operation of fiber-optic networks and communication systems, i.e. the ability of a communication network to perform specified functions for transmitting information under specified conditions and for a specified time is the main requirement of customers for a telecommunications operator. The customer's needs and expectations regarding the quality and reliability of the network and communication systems determine the requirements. They may differ not only qualitatively and quantitatively, but also depend on time. Customers of telecommunications companies may need certain periods of time during which additional stability of communication is required. The rest of the time, the standard level of communication stability is sufficient for them. The overall framework of the SLA usually provides increased reliability for the entire duration of the contract concluded between the customer and the operator, which is sometimes redundant and expensive for both the customer and the operator. The SLA framework is considered, which allows customers to independently determine the critical time slots in which the operator undertakes to fulfill their requirements for communication stability. This structure is called the SLA with differentiated requirements (SLAd). Critical Time Slots (CTS) correspond to periods when it is especially important for the customer to have reliable and uninterrupted communication. Therefore, connections during these periods are reserved using cross-duplication of customer data streams. The article evaluates the effectiveness of the implementation of a service level agreement (SLA) with time-differentiated reliability requirements. Net present value (NPV) is considered as a measure of efficiency;to take into account the probabilistic characteristics, the availability factor is applied. The results of calculations are presented and their brief analysis is given. © 2022 IEEE.

The main tasks are discussed in this paper such as in the construction of transmitters of digital television broadcasting, in particular the task of constructing a universal preamplifier, which can be used regardless of any particular channel. Distributed amplifiers permit to build wide-range power amplifiers with constant gain in the preset frequency range. The main feature of the construction of distributed amplifiers is using input and output capacitances of amplifying device in the artificial transmission lines. The main advantages and disadvantages of this type of amplifiers are presented in the paper. The method of calculation of distributed amplifier for UHF and the research its energetic characteristics are discussed in the paper. The further research tasks for this type of amplifier are given. © 2020 IEEE.

One of recent advances in innovation computer technologies is widely using of on-board computing complexes. The major part of the on-board computing complex is the onboard information and computing network. Its main purpose is to ensure the reliable operation of on-board equipment. To design an on-board information and computer network, it is necessary to develop its mathematical model at the first stage. At the same time, most of the available models imply the working of network users with a "simple dialogue mode", i.e. do not take into account the real technology of their work. However, it is possible to identify typical tasks solved by each of the users of the network, and describe in detail their working technology. Detailed consideration of network user’s operation technology and its inclusion in the model can have a significant impact on its probabilistic and temporal characteristics. We consider some examples of such models by using closed queueing networks. ©2024 IEEE.
