The design of on-board computer systems associates with a large number of calculations and the implementation of complex algorithms. Analytical and simulation models develop for this purpose. These models must take into account a significant number of factors, which include environmental influences, load fluctuations, and others. Queuing theory methods widely uses in modeling on-board computer systems. Queuing network models may be either open or closed. It becomes possible to take into account the network users operation technology when calculating the characteristics of this a model in the latter case. It is necessary to use special software or develop your own programs using algorithmic programming languages in any case. The processes taking place in on-board computer networks describes by the Erlang processes. Software implementation of it has been has quite complicated for a long time. In 1974 Jagerman develops a fast algorithm that implemented Erlang formula however. This paper provides examples of models and programs that allow you calculate the characteristics of on-board computer systems with a complex structure of user dialogue based on the Jagerman algorithm and Brown method for solution of nonlinear equations.

The aim of the research is to improve the methodological support for the development of professional competencies in project management among students specializing in telecommunications and employees of telecommunication companies. The educational and methodological material has been prepared based on an analysis of the current state, dynamics, and trends in the development of telecommunications, a study of the features of ongoing telecommunication projects, and a comparative analysis of modern methodological approaches to project management and their application by telecommunication companies. The research resulted in a training and methodological complex for developing professional competencies of students and graduates specializing in telecommunications in the field of engineering and IT project management. The bank of cases, business games, and practical tasks developed by the authors ensures that students gain practical skills. The study is aimed at improving the quality of the educational process of training specialists for the telecommunications industry.

The propagation of a radio signal emitted by a spacecraft through the Earth's ionosphere is considered. The influence of the ionosphere and traveling ionospheric disturbances on the propagation of a radio signal of the decimeter and meter ranges is studied. The following are calculated: deviations of rays from rectilinear propagation, changes in delay time, phase lag, and phase deviation. The total electron concentration and Faraday rotation are calculated in the presence of ionospheric inhomogeneities. The influence of the ionosphere on the absorption of a radio signal, its amplitude, and polarization is analyzed.

Identifying and locating objects in images and videos, including elements like traffic signs, vehicles, buildings, and people, constitutes a fundamental and demanding task in computer vision, known as object detection. Due to the higher computing complexity of this technique and the large amount of data carried by the video signal, it is nearly impossible for ordinary general-purpose processors GPPs or CPUs to run these techniques in real-time, especially for embedded systems applications. Therefore, special hardware that can acquire, control, or execute in parallel is required. These specialized hardware systems include Digital Signal Processors DSPs, field Programmable Gate Arrays FPGAs, Visual processing Units VPUs, Tensor processing Units TPUs, Neural processing Units NPUs or Graphics processing Units GPUs. This work presents the benefits of accelerating traditional object detection methods on a high-end embedded system, the Jetson Nano Developer Kit. This single computer board is equipped with the Tegra K1 System on Chip SoC, which is composed of a quad-core ARM A15 and 192 cores of Kepler-embedded GPU. Computing acceleration was ensured via the use of the CUDA OpenCV library for both the Histogram of Oriented Gradients HOG and the Haar Cascade Classifier. For VGA resolution, results reveal that the GPU implementation on this embedded system is 1.4× faster than the CPU for the HOG method and 2× for the Haar Cascade Classifier method. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

This paper discusses radio interfaces in satellite communications with phase types of modulation and framed signal structure. It outlines several different frequency-time synchronization algorithms of demodulator, specifies the features and conditions for their use. As a result it describes combined synchronization algorithm, which is able to work effectively in conditions of high and variable carrier frequency shift values.

The problem of breakdown effect, also called multiphactor, in on-board equipment of satellite communication systems is considered. This negative effect affects the reliability of onboard devices of high radiation power and hinders the development of radio-electronic equipment for space applications in general. The breakdown effect mechanism is carried out. We show the specifics of breakdown effect in strip and coaxial components of satellite electronic equipment and also discuss how to prevent a possible discharge in on-board equipment.

This paper presents the prototype of brain-computer interface (BCI), designed to control on-board systems. BCI functions of the basis of an artificial convolutional neural network that recognizes the patterns of activity of the human brain. The device is characterized by a high-precision classifier of brain activity patterns, as well as high quality and stability of recording brain activity signals. The results of the recognition quality obtained during the experiment are presented.
