The subject of the study is “cloud” services that are provided to customers in software-defined networks. The purpose of the work is to offer mathematical software for calculating the channel resource when implementing a “cloud” service at the client's request and assess the possibility of providing it, taking into account the specifics of software-defined networks. The methodological basis of the work is made up of methods of theoretical analysis, mathematical modeling and method of generalization. The mathematical model is based on a proven method of sifted load for a multiservice network. Mathematical modeling was carried out for a generalized network structure using the MATLAB mathematical package. The results were obtained for the most frequently used number of channel units (from 1 to 10) and different network load, which makes it possible to put the proposed method into practice. Based on the results of an experimental study, conclusions and recommendations are made.

Purpose. Analysis of distortions in the de-ramped linear frequency modulated continuous wave (LFM-CW) signal reflected from an extended target (ET), which model is presented by a set of point scatterers. Definition of parameters affecting distortions in the de-ramped signal spectrum, and development of ET radar profile restoration methods. Methodology. Numeric computations method based on the equation describing the de-ramped LFM-CW signal of an ET. The de-ramped signal properties analysis by means of numeric computation with varying values of properties of the probing signal and the ET. Findings. Parameters of the transmitted signal and the ET model that affect the distortions have been determined: starting frequency, frequency change rate, the ET relative height, the distance between the reflectors, the limits of phase noise values. The spectrum distortion index has been introduced. Value. ET radar profile restoration methods that can be used for signal processing have been developed.

In modern telecommunications, radio engineering and measuring technologies, an important place is occupied by systems of synchronization, formation and processing of signals. The development and effective use of such systems is based on fundamental and applied research in the field of dynamic systems theory, signal generation and frequency stabilization, digital signal shaping and processing, statistical communication theory and noise-immune signal reception, as well as a number of other related areas. For 50 years, the international conference “systems of Signal Synchronization, generating and processing in Telecommunications (SYNCHROINFO)” has been held annually. The article sums up the results of the 50-year history of the conference, in which more than one generation of high-class researchers, developers and teachers of the higher education system took part.

IoT devices must remain operational for 10 years with one set of batteries. Most power is typically consumed by an RF power amplifier, which is necessary for transmitting data over a wireless radio channel in 5G networks. For this reason, the task of increasing the efficiency of an RF power amplifier is relevant. High efficiency can be achieved by using active element switching modes in combination with “synthetic” amplification methods. This article analyzes the energy characteristics of a Class D switching power amplifier with a filter for two configurations: voltage mode and current mode for various transistor saturation times (Duty Ratio). Based on the analysis of time diagrams, integral equations are written, the solution of which allows us to derive calculation formulas. The results of calculations are presented. It is shown that the mode of working with meanders is most advantageous, while the VMCD circuit should work at τsat≤π, and in the CMCD circuit should work at τsat≥π.

A high performance algorithm is proposed to provide efficient separation of transmission paths in single carrier duplex satellite systems. The algorithm is based on direct estimation of Wiener-Hopf equation solution on each iteration in real-time. Several approximations and fast calculation techniques are implemented to reduce computational complexity of the algorithm proposed. In particular, the algorithm uses predefined autocorrelation matrix, fast procedure of cross-correlation vector calculation and fast procedure of Toeplitz matrix multiplication by vector. The approximation of cross-correlation vectors array is also implemented. Algorithm efficiency is been studied on simplified model of earth stations and satellite. The study results demonstrate that the algorithm provides echo interference suppression more than 40 dB in typical for bandwidth optimization techniques conditions and allows to use QAM modulation with 256 levels. The proposed algorithm was compared for robustness with other commonly used adaptive filtering algorithms, such as: conventional RLS, QR-decomposition RLS, Householder RLS, NLMS, frequency domain LMS and affine projection algorithm. In considered application, the proposed algorithm outperforms other algorithms in terms of echo interference suppression.

Dynamic routing protocols transmit routing information in a finite time, resulting in errors in determining the optimal packet route. As a consequence, the efficiency of data exchange may deteriorate, for example, increasing the time spent on the network packets. The aim of the work is to study the behavior of the network in the case of unpredictable topology changes caused by sudden multiple failures of network equipment. The solution is carried out with the help of a specialized simulation model that allows you to track the change in network parameters in the process of its operation. Simulation showed that equipment failures lead to a qualitatively new network behavior, for the characteristics of which, along with the traditional indicator “packet delivery time”, two characteristics are additionally defined: “the proportion of lost packets” and “the probability of packet looping”. A comparative analysis of several variants of the implementation of routing algorithms using multi-step and one-step metrics is performed and the conditions for choosing the optimal parameters of routing process control are determined. The results of the research allow us to determine the requirements for the speed of transmission of route information, characteristics of route labels and access control parameters depending on the network topology.

The ability of a communication network to perform the required functions, while maintaining the values of all its parameters under certain conditions for a given time, is one of the main tasks in design, construction and operation of communication lines. The most vulnerable elements of a communication line are optical fibers. Their damage leads to downtime lines or unacceptably low quality of communication. To ensure reliable operation of the communication network, the impact of damage of the optical fibers on the operability of the communication line should be reduced. Structural, technological and operational solutions may be insufficient to improve reliability characteristics or maintain them at the required level, then applied redundancy of optical fibers by introducing into the structure of the optical cable additional (reserve) optical fibers that are redundant in relation to the minimum necessary to perform the specified functions under certain operating conditions of the communication line for a given time. The issues of optical fibers redundancy in cables laid in hard-to-reach places, primarily under water, were considered earlier in our articles. In this article, we consider a way to increase the efficiency of using redundant fibers in optical or hybrid cables, which can also be used on ships and submarines, access to which is difficult or impossible.

Our future society will be increasingly digitized and globally data-driven. Mobile communications technologies like 5Gwhile evolving make our daily lives easier and safer, as well as significantly impact on business efficiency. But we start thinking about the next steps - 6G networks. It is not yet clear what the advent of sixth-generation networks will entail. Perhaps thanks to high-resolution visualization and recognition, wearable displays, mobile robots and drones, completely new services such as telepresence and extended reality will be possible. The main issue of the studies is the transfer of data with a rate of up to 1 Tbit/s per user. This may become possible thanks to the efficient use of the spectrum in the THz domain. Another important issue will be using and implementing smart technologies, different type data sources, artificial intelligence and remote (tele-) presence that raise many technical and mathematical problems on the road toward 6G. For these reasons, 6G networks are a huge area for research. This article presents the possible services and involved technologies of the 6G network and its possible features. The following are system-wide trends that will define goals for 6G. In conclusion, a key way-points and research program are suggested.

Currently, unmanned aerial vehicles are actively used in various fields of human activity: terrain monitoring, cartography, cargo delivery, military affairs, etc. The concept of “smart city” involves the widespread use of various UAVs to solve a wide class of problems. Unauthorized use of UAVs can lead to threats to the functioning of the “smart city”, since the control system of unmanned vehicles of the “smart city” does not take into account the presence of UAVs-violators and, accordingly, is not able to quickly respond to emerging threats. The solution to this problem may be the creation of a global airspace monitoring system within the framework of the “smart city”. One of the most effective methods of airspace control is the use of radar. These funds are all-weather and can provide round-the-clock control of the space. Currently, most research in this area is aimed at developing new highly efficient radar systems based on antennas with phased array antennas with control of the direction of radiation of signals in a given area of space. At the same time, such complexes are not able to provide simultaneous control of various areas of space, which significantly reduces the effectiveness of their use in solving detection problems. Another promising area is the use of spatially separated low-power transmitting devices emitting an ensemble of broadband orthogonal radio signals, and radio receiving systems with omnidirectional antenna elements. This article is devoted to questions of assessing the potential accuracy of determining the coordinates and speed of small UAVs of a multi-position radar with omnidirectional antenna elements. As a result of mathematical modeling, estimates were obtained of the potential accuracy of measuring the plane coordinates and the UAV height for various topologies of the placement of transceiver modules and their number and base size. In channelized receivers which are used for electronic support systems, when a pulse modulated signal is received, rabbit ear effect occurs at the out of band channels of the channelizer. In this paper rabbit ear problem and its reasons are analyzed, different methods based on both amplitude and frequency are proposed for detection and elimination of the rabbit ear effect. Proposed methods are tested at the center and at the edge of the channel for signals that have different pulse width. Suggested methods detected and eliminated most of the rabbit ear signals. This design which can be easily performed on real time signal processing systems is implemented on FPGA board that samples in 2.5 GHz. Experimental results of the methods are presented.
