High-Performance Computing (HPC) is a fundamental tool for improving the performance of many algorithms in terms of time, especially for large-scale problems. In the last years, various HPC architectures have been developed to quickly process data in many research areas and at the same time the HPC tools has become very important. In addition, the development of scientific libraries for parallel computing plays a key role in achieving better performance. In particular, thanks to the computational power of Graphic Processing Units, themost popular and inexpensive accelerators, the parallel computing field has become almost a standard process for datamanagement. Hence, the porting of many standard numerical libraries on these architectures produced excellent results. In this work, we deal with a two-dimensional time fractional diffusion problem. More in detail, we analyze the performance of some parallel codes, specifically designed to solve it, implemented in different architectures. Nowadays, with the fast growth of the Internet, the useful role of learning online is getting increasingly popular. MOOC platforms such as Coursera, Edx, Udemy, etc. are attracting many students from all over the world, with thousands of courses constantly continually being opened and updated. This raises the question of how to suggest courses that learners are interested in. To tackle this problem, we apply the Deep matrix Factorization model to the course suggestion along with the improved loss function. The experiment shows that our course recommendation system achieves better NDCG for top K courses than other methods. When creating a sample over a data stream, we sometimes need to give a priority to the recent past, over the distant one. This can be achieved if the probability of each stream element to exist in the sample decays as time passes, according to a bias-function. In order to obtain such a sample, one has to access some elements of the sample when a stream element arrives. For the exponential bias-function, according to which the probability of a sample-element to be deleted at each time-point, is the same for all sample elements, the number of needed accesses is O(1). For any other bias-function, one needs to access O(n) elements per incoming stream element, where n is the sample-size. Boolean Matrix Factorization (BMF) aims to find an approximation of a given binary matrix as the Boolean product of two low-rank binary matrices. Binary data is ubiquitous in many fields, and representing data by binary matrices is common in medicine, natural language processing, bioinformatics, computer graphics, among many others. Factorizing a matrix into low-rank matrices is used to gain more information about the data, like discovering relationships between the features and samples, roles and users, topics and articles, etc. In many applications, the binary nature of the factor matrices could enormously increase the interpretability of the data. Unfortunately, BMF is computationally hard and heuristic algorithms are used to compute Boolean factorizations. Very re-cently, the theoretical breakthrough was obtained independently by two research groups. Ban et al. (SODA 2019) and Fomin et al. (Trans. Algorithms 2020) show that BMF admits an effi-cient polynomial-time approximation scheme (EPTAS). However, despite the theoretical importance, the high double-exponential dependence of the running times from the rank makes these algorithms unimplementable in practice. The primary research question motivating our work is whether the theoretical advances on BMF could lead to practical algorithms. The main conceptional contribution of our work is the fol-lowing. While EPTAS for BMF is a purely theoretical advance, the general approach behind these algorithms could serve as the basis in designing better heuristics. We also use this strategy to develop new algorithms for related $\mathbb{F}_{p}$ -Matrix Factorization. Here, given a matrix A over a finite field GF $(p)$ where $p$ is a prime, and an integer $r$ . our objective is to find a matrix $\mathrm{B}$ over the same field with GF $(p)$ -rank at most $r$ minimizing some norm of A-B. Virtual simulation experiment teaching can be carried out in any environment without the limitation of time and space, and used repeatedly for learning, more intuitive understanding of principle and method of the whole experiment, to combine the experimental content and abstract theory, and teachers can improve students' learning situation in virtual simulation teaching line tracking. The exploration and application of evaluation system of virtual simulation practice teaching under the background of new engineering is carried out. By scoring the students' preview, operation, experimental results and reports, and examination, a four-stage process evaluation method of 'preview before class - experimental operation - review after class comprehensive assessment' is constructed. The core of the evaluation system is the cultivation of virtual simulation talents' practice and innovation ability, and virtual simulation is emphasized. The exploration of real experiment teaching process evaluation system and the establishment of comprehensive evaluation index system can promote the deep integration of classroom teaching and virtual simulation experiment teaching, cultivate virtual simulation practice teaching resources and develop teachers, and make the virtual simulation experiment teaching evaluation mode more perfect. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper presents MULAN-WC, a novel multi-robot 3D reconstruction framework that leverages wireless signal-based coordination between robots and Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF). Our approach addresses key challenges in multi-robot 3D reconstruction, including inter-robot pose estimation, localization uncertainty quantification, and active best-next-view selection. We introduce a method for using wireless Angle-of-Arrival (AoA) and ranging measurements to estimate relative poses between robots, as well as quantifying and incorporating the uncertainty embedded in the wireless localization of these pose estimates into the NeRF training loss to mitigate the impact of inaccurate camera poses. Furthermore, we propose an active view selection approach that accounts for robot pose uncertainty when determining the best-next-views to improve the 3D reconstruction, enabling faster convergence through intelligent view selection. Extensive experiments on both synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our framework in theory and in practice. Leveraging wireless coordination and localization uncertainty-aware training, MULAN-WC can achieve high-quality 3D reconstruction that is close to applying the ground truth camera poses. Furthermore, the quantification of the information gain from a novel view enables consistent rendering quality improvement with incrementally captured images by commanding the robot to the novel view position. Our hardware experiments showcase the practicality of deploying MULAN-WC to real robotic systems.

Dynamic data visualization is a collaborative dashboarding methodology used to identify trends and insights in data while revealing changes in activity and work progress. This paper introduces a dashboard technique that collects, reports, and shares global business schools' fulfillment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)--the SDG Dashboard. With this tool, business schools can share experiences with the goal of promoting sustainable change and advancing the work (e.g. research papers, partnerships, and syllabi) being done internationally within schools. By revealing patterns and trends that may not be evident when reading individual school level accounts of SDG alignment, this dashboard was created to promote inter-school collaboration while highlighting best practices. Overall, it can be used as a high-level assessment tool to highlight areas of greatest impact on the SDGs as well as opportunities for growth. The SDG Dashboard allows users to drill down into the data, revealing patterns of global impact, while also highlighting the breadth of work that is being done. This dynamic dashboard is an agent for collaborations in all topics outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which are: sustainable economic growth, responsible consumption and production, availability for decent work, poverty eradication, cleaner energy, environmental conservation, and the foray of issues concerning overall inequality and quality education.

The optimal offloading of tasks in heterogeneous edge-computing scenarios is of great practical interest, both in the selfish and fully cooperative setting. In practice, such systems are typically very large, rendering exact solutions in terms of cooperative optima or Nash equilibria intractable. For this purpose, we adopt a general mean-field formulation in order to solve the competitive and cooperative offloading problems in the limit of infinitely large systems. We give theoretical guarantees for the approximation properties of the limiting solution and solve the resulting mean-field problems numerically. Furthermore, we verify our solutions numerically and find that our approximations are accurate for systems with dozens of edge devices. As a result, we obtain a tractable approach to the design of offloading strategies in large edge-computing scenarios with many users.
