We propose a superpixel-based classification method for finding area such as urban, land, lake etc. in SAR image. For classification, we use superpixel histograms as features. We compare the results of state-of-the-art superpixel methods with the one of recently proposed SAR image specific superpixel method. The test results obtained from a real TerraSAR-ximage show that the SAR image specific method outperforms the state-of-the-art ones.

Lane departure warning (LDW) systems have gained a lot of interest over the last few years. EuroNCAP regulations mandate European car makers to have LDW system to get star rating. In this paper, we propose a simple image-based implementation of LDW system optimized for the Texas Instruments (TI) C66x Digital signal Processor (DSP). We show that our solution is able to overcome certain challenges faced in prior methods and consumes only 2.3 mega cycles/frame of the DSP, leaving the rest of the DSP for other applications. We also share some results of our implementation.

Holography has the potential to become the ultimate 3D experience. Nevertheless, in order to achieve practical working systems, major scientific and technological challenges have to be tackled. In particular, as digital holographic data represents a huge amount of information, the development of efficient compression techniques is a key component. This problem has gained significant attention by the research community during the last 10 years. Given that holograms have very different signal properties when compared to natural images and video sequences, existing compression techniques (e.g. JPEG or MPEG) remain suboptimal, calling for innovative compression solutions. In this paper, we will review and analyze past and on-going work for the compression of digital holographic data.

Targets with low signal to noise ratio are difficult to detect. Track-before-detect algorithm detects weak targets by sufficiently tracking them. Particle filter track-before-detect algorithm is flexible enough to be modified for occlusion handling. The first novelty of this work, is the modification of the particle filter track-before-detect algorithm to handle occlusions. The second one is the modeling of the image of a point target on an electro-optic sensor. For this purpose, an optical system design is made and point spread function of the system is modeled by a Gaussian function, that changes as the angle to the optical center of the sensor changes. This Gaussian model includes amplitude, optical distortion, x and Y axis standard deviations. The proposed algorithm is tested with varying signal to noise ratios and successful tracking and detection is achieved during occlusion and maneuvering of the target.

In this paper, we discuss about applications of different methods for decomposing a signal over elementary waveforms chosen in a family called a dictionary (atomic representations) in optical coherence tomography (OCT). If the representation is learned from the data, a nonparametric dictionary is defined with three fundamental properties of being data-driven, applicability on 3D, and working in multi-scale, which make it appropriate for processing of OCT images. We discuss about application of such representations including complex wavelet based K-SVD, and diffusion wavelets on OCT data. We introduce complex wavelet based K-SVD to take advantage of adaptability in dictionary learning methods to improve the performance of simple dual tree complexwavelets in speckle reduction of OCT datasets in 2D and 3D. The algorithm is evaluated on 144 randomly selected slices from twelve 3D OCTs taken by Topcon 3D OCT-1000 and Cirrus Zeiss Meditec. Improvement of contrast to noise ratio (CNR) (from 0.9 to 11.91 and from 3.09 to 88.9, respectively) is achieved. Furthermore, two approaches are proposed for image segmentation using diffusion. The first method is designing a competition between extended basis functions at each level and the second approach is defining a new distance for each level and clustering based on such distances. A combined algorithm, based on these two methods is then proposed for segmentation of retinal OCTs, which is able to localize 12 boundaries with unsigned border positioning error of 9.22 +/- 3.05 mu m, on a test set of 20 slices selected from 13 3D OCTs.

These analyses were carried out on examples taken from 15 cameras, 1 video camera and 7 mobile phones. Two methods were used for suspect camera detection. Firstly, to detect dead pixel. In dead pixel analyses first step is detecting whether there is a dead pixcel on photographs by way of using some software (ex: dead ***). If there is a dead pixel, second step is to determine the location of this dead pixel on x-y coordination system. Secondly; it is a examination that is carried out on photographs/images taken from suspect cameras by using Quantitation, Exif, Average and PRNUC filters belonging to FIAS (Forensic Imaging Analysis System). As a result; in the light of the findings obtained, it is evaluated that suspect camera detection analysis can contribute to forensic digital imaging examining field.

The paper focuses on separating mixtures in the transform domain such as Fourier domain or the Wavelet domain. The study addresses the effectiveness of steganography when using linear mixtures of multimedia components and the ability of standard blind sources separation techniques to discern hidden multimedia messages. Change detection for high resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery requires advanced denoising mechanisms to preserve details and minimize speckle. In this work, we propose a change detector based on a Morphological Component Analysis (MCA) of the scattering mechanisms provided with fully polarimetric data sets. With MCA, the power of each scattering mechanism is decomposed into diverse image features. By introducing a priori knowledge of the content of the scenes, and exploiting both the scattering mechanisms and their corresponding shapes, we can significantly improve performance, with fewer false alarms introduced by clutter, focusing errors, and inconsistent acquisition geometries.
