there are massive digital resources in digital libraries and other organizations. While hardware and software used to readdigital data become obsolescent soon, and a lot of information in these unreadable data is so valuable that it is urgent to preserve digital resources for long-term utilization. A variety of tools or systems can solve part of the problem, but most of them are isolated. this paper describes an integrated and flexible digital preservation system AOMS which leverages the existing tools and services. AOMS considers not only file formats and versions, but also storage media, hardware, software, OS, and so forth as digital preservation risks, so the corresponding risks may be interlaced. Consequently, AOMS also helps collection managers schedule the preservation actions effectively and efficiently.

A large number of 3d model are used for various computer graphic related fields reflecting recent advancements in computer hardware. Since the number of 3d models is increasing rapidly as databases, various retrieval techniques have been proposed for handing 3d model data efficiently. In our retrieval technique, complexity and self-similarity of 3d models were evaluated, whereas typical retrieval techniques evaluate outer shape similarities of the 3d models. In the experiments, a database of 3d tree models was analyzed. Both a box counting method andthe Hurst analysis method were applied to each 3d tree model for estimating fractal dimensions. the computed fractal dimension values were used for measuring complexities and self-similarities of each 3d model. An experimental web-based system was implemented for retrieving 3d tree models from the database. the system successfully estimated fractal dimensions (shape features) of each 3d tree model, andthe 3d models were sorted and classified based on the complexities of the shapes.

this paper presents CoViRo-I2 a collaborative framework for vision-based control, implemented as an embeddedweb application with an online deliberative environment for remote robotic tasks. CoViRo-I2 allows remote users to exercise high-level supervisory control over an industrial robot. Camera Space Manipulation (CSM) has been implemented as the enabling vision-based control technology. CoViRo-I2 provides an online collaborative real-time environment, granting capability of expert counseling to solve a critical task before executing it in real time. the first part of this paper presents a comparison of CSM to competing methods of vision based control in order to ascertain the relative strengths and weakness of the method. the second part describes the software architecture of the based-web collaborative framework: the system requirements, the framework design andthe system deployment. Finally a case of study is reported: the use of the CoViRo-12 system to command a PUMA 761 6-axis robot to execute 3d-positioning task through Internet2.
