An electro-thermal compact model of MOSFET which takes the hot carriers effects into account is presented in this paper. This new compact model evaluates the threshold voltage shift as well as the mobility reduction induced by the increase of the density of states at the Si/SiO2 interface produced by hot carriers. This physical effect depends on the biasing conditions and the temperature of the device. Results obtained on a single transistor are presented and compared to experimental results. Electro-thermal simulations at chip level are presented through a circuit dedicated to effective aging evaluation. simulation results clearly show how the temperature reduces the lifetime of circuits. This new electro-thermal compact model coupled to our electro-thermal simulation tool offers the possibility to evaluate the lifetime of analog CMOS circuit.

We investigate numerical methods for passive modelreduction of linear dynamical systems. This is an important task in circuitsimulation when modeling parasitic effects of interconnect. We will show how positive real balancing, based on balancing the solutions of two algebraic Riccati equations, can be used for passive modelreduction of large-scale systems on parallel computers. Numerical experiments demonstrate the performance of the parallel algorithms using several examples from circuitsimulation.

In this paper we present how the design of a power converter can be effectively improved by means of EMI phenomena simulation. We will consider the design of a converter intended as battery charger for telecommunication facilities. First of all, the electric phenomena involved in the generation of electromagnetic interference are reminded. Then the main ideas used to obtain the EMI simulationmodel are outlined. A model of the power converter in the frequency-domain is obtained and validated through experimental measurements. Finally, this model is used to improve the design of the converter from the EMI point of view, resulting in a reduction of space, weight and cost of the filtering devices.

This paper proposes new current control to reduce eddy current loss (ECL) in switched reluctance motors (SRMs). Motor parameters and flux density of SRMs are pre-calculated by magnetostatic analysis. Eddy current causes the change of the flux density. Current profiles for ECL reduction can be derived from the condition under constant flux density. The ECL can be obtained from transient analysis of FEM (TA-FEM). The TA-FEM, however, require too long calculation time, and it is not suitable for simulation with switching action of drive circuit. In this paper, a simple model is applied to ECL analysis on a circuit simulator.

Origami can transform the metasurface between multiple structures, changing the mechanical properties, space occupation and electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the metasurface according to the needs. In order to realize the electromagnetic scattering reduction of radar targets, this paper analyzed the design and scattering characteristics of the metasurface based on Miura-Ori folded structure. Firstly, based on the equivalent circuitmodel and particle swarm optimization algorithm, a metasurface that can achieve 10dB RCS reduction in C-band is designed. Based on this structure, the metasurface of Miura-Ori folded structure is designed and its electromagnetic scattering characteristics are analyzed. The simulation results verify the stealth performance of the structure. In addition, the structure can change its RCS by folding and unfolding, which can be used for stealth and camouflage of deformable targets.
