This workshop presents methods for teaching web design at the source level according to the World Wide Web Consortium and Ecma International standards for the Web's core markup, design, and scripting languages. These methods require no specialized technology infrastructure or investment beyond three generic categories of free and open-source software (text editors, web browsers, and web browser add-ons) that provide students with equitable technology access in-and outside of the classroom. Through these methods, writers develop a more comprehensive knowledge of the complex issues of web design and development that Adobe Dreamweaver and other software are designed to obscure. Partially a response to the limitations and professional de-skilling inherent in those types of software and certain content management systems, this workshop presents web design and development methods that are sustainable, in that the methods are based in languages written at the source level, and not the arbitrary, shifting design of software interfaces. The workshop also offers evidence of how these methods and the principles behind them can extend to courses beyond web design to shape digital design and development throughout writing and communication curricula.

The fast development of technology and the time-to-market constraints need well-adapted technical support and development processes to ease design space exploration and the reduction of the productivity gap. Model Based Engineering (MBE) overcomes the increasing complexity of system being highly heterogeneous and integrating concurrent sub systems. Elsewhere, Models of Computation (MoC) help enforcing MBE with aspects related to the execution semantics of models. In a previous paper, we introduced a language called Cometa providing more expressiveness for these aspects. It allows the capture and analysis of several MoCs at high level of abstraction, highlighting communication and synchronization among parts of a heterogeneous system. The language was tooled in Rhapsody and tested on an industrial case. In this paper, we present the key concepts of the Cometa language and the tooling experiments of Cometa in an opensource environment. The objective of this approach is being able to model heterogeneous systems, but also to broaden the scope of the language tooling, by taking benefits from an opensource environment. LTE (Long Term Evolution) project uses OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) and MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Out-put) technology as its sole criterion for the evolution of wireless networks to improve and enhance the 3G (UMTS) air-access technology. Nowadays, subjects of cloud computing, especially cloud storage, are still thought to be new fields with few teaching opportunities. This paper discusses how to realize GET/PUT requests between REST client and servers, utilize CDMI (Cloud Data Management Interface) standard to carry on teaching experiment of cloud storage communication under Linux environment. Practice proves that it is useful to help students understand basic concepts of cloud environment and mechanism of cloud storage, and offer students access to the cloud standard.
