The author discusses three problems about Yinxu (or yin Ruins, 殷墟), the capital ofShang Dynasty. The three problems are: whether citywall had existed or not, the relationbetween Yinxu and Chaoge (朝歌), and "Oracle Bone inscription Archives".The author thinks that Yinxu had no citywall because Shang Dynasty had so strongmilitary strength that it needn’t to build citywall at all. Certain scholars hold the argumentthat there has no citywall been discovered in Yinxu up to now just because of the damageThe author thinks this argument is incorrect. It is undoubted that Yinxu was the capital oflate Shang Dynasty. At first, Chaoge was one of the several royal detached palaces duringlate Shang Dynasty, but later it gradually became another co--existing political and militarycenter with capital Yin. About the "oracle bone Inscription", the author thinks that it wasn’tthe "royal archives" of the Shang Dynasty.
