We eva.ua.ed the forest structure, pore wa.er sa.inity, geochemica. cha.a.teristics, gra.n-size distribution a.d sediment a.cumula.ion ra.es (Sa.) in 15 ma.grove sites a.ong the Sa. Pedro Mezquita. River, one of the ma.or sources of fresh wa.er supply to the Ma.isma. Na.iona.es System. Sediments were sa.dy-silty with high orga.ic ma.ter content (5.8 +/- 1.5% to 23.6 +/- 1.7%). The ma.ine (Na. Cl a.d Br) a.d terrigenous (a., Ti, Rb a.d Zr) elements indica.ed tha. sediments were mostly of continenta. provena.ce, with sma.l ma.ine contribution. Sa. ra.ged from 0.08 +/- 0.01 to 2.29 +/- 0.28 cm yr(-1). La.uncula.ia.ra.emosa.wa. the domina.t species in the northern sites (between Toluca.La.oon a.d Mexca.tita. La.oon), with a.mea. ba.a.a.ea.of 11.1-49.3 m(2) ha.-1), wherea. Rhizophora.ma.gle preva.led in the southern sites, closer to the river mouth (between Boca.Ca.ichin a.d Los Limones River, mea. ba.a.a.ea.of 2.0-11.0 m(2) ha.-1)). The southern a.ea.wa. cha.a.terized by lower forest a.tributes, a.d higher pore wa.er sa.inity a.d sediment a.cumula.ion ra.es tha. the northern a.ea. We concluded tha. ma.grove preserva.ion a.ong SPMR requires insuring a.propria.e fresh wa.er a.d sediment supply, a.d the control of orga.ic ma.ter pollution sources.

Tempera.ure is independently obta.ned with thermistors. Combining hea.a.d tempera.ure mea.urements, it is possible to infer therma. thermodyna.ic entropy va.ia.ions in the sensor. Two types of mea.urements a.e ca.ried out: volume, to mea.ure entropy bulk cha.ges a.d surfa.e, to mea.ure entropy flux through the system wa.l. Model simula.ions a.ree with experimenta. results. Recent studies ha.e found hyperprola.tinemia.in first episode psychotic pa.ients tha. ha. not previously received a.tipsychotic trea.ment (drug-na.ve). Our goa. wa. to lea.n whether there were differences in ba.eline prola.tin concentra.ions between drug-na.ve psychotic pa.ients a.d hea.thy controls, a. well a. to study possible gender differences in the prola.tin eleva.ion. a.cross-sectiona. study wa. conducted tha. included 61 drug-na.ve psychosis pa.ients a.d 45 hea.thy controls (a.ed between 14-55 yea.s old). a.blood sa.ple wa. extra.ted between 8 a.d 10 a.m. Prola.tin levels a.d TSH were determined. The Perceived Stress Sca.e (PSS) wa. conducted a.ross the sa.ple. This study showed significa.tly higher levels of prola.tin in drug-na.ve pa.ients compa.ed to hea.thy controls. These results were ma.nta.ned a.ter controlling prola.tin levels for sex, a.e, THC consumption, ba.eline TSH, a.d PSS. a.significa.t correla.ion between prola.tin a.d PSS wa. not observed. Significa.t differences in prola.tin levels between men a.d women were not observed. These results a.e clinica.ly importa.t beca.se if eleva.ed ba.eline prola.tin levels a.e detected in these pa.ients, it will be necessa.y to initia.e neuroleptics tha. do not increa.e this hormone.
