Energetic metal salts based on 3-cyano-1,5-(5-nitro-1,2,4-triazolyl) formazan: Synthesis, crystal structure, thermal stability, and catalysis on the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate

Ammonium perchlorate (AP) serves as an important component in solid propellants. Adding catalysts to facilitate its thermal decomposition can enhance the combustion performance of solid propellants. Inspiring by the remarkable thermal stability and resistance to mechanical stimuli of the 3-cyano-1,5-(5-nitro-1,2,4-triazolyl) formazan, four energetic metal salts with 3-cyano-1,5-(5-nitro-1,2,4-triazolyl) formazan as energy storage units were synthesized and well characterized. The molecular structures of the compounds 1-2 were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The thermal behaviors and sensitivities of these new four energetic metal salts were determined by the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and BAM methods. These new four energetic metal salts possess excellent thermal stability with decomposition peak temperatures over 259 degrees C and low impact and friction sensitivity (IS > 40 J, FS > 360 N). Additionally, the four energetic metal salts exhibited outstanding performance in accelerating the thermal decomposition of AP, the high-temperature peak decreased by 30 to 120 degrees C, and the heat release increased significantly, which was 1.1 to 2.8 times of pure AP. The decomposition activation energy (E-a) of pure AP and AP with 10 wt% compounds 1-4 were calculated using the Kissinger equations, respectively. The AP decomposition activation energy decreased by 9.41 to 18.45 kJmol(-1). These experimental results indicate that the four energetic metal salts are expected to be the alternative additives to accelerate the catalytic decomposition of AP in composite solid propellants.

In order to meet the requirements of Location-based Service (LBS), there are many proposed positioning solutions that may be able to provide LBS support, such as GPS, Mobile Phone Location, RFID, and so on. With the most widely recognized system being the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Windows Mobile 5.0 system characteristics, this paper first provides three kinds method, i.e. invoking Win32 API, using Ports namespace and calling GPS Intermediate Driver, to receive GPS raw data on Windows Mobile devices. Since internet-based GPS VRS RTK workstation can provide real-time streaming of differential GPS corrections. The following text introduces a high precision Net-based RTK (NRTK) mobile positioning solution which is mainly equipped with a Windows Mobile 5.0 device and an Ashtech Z-Xtreme receiver. With it a rover-side (NtripClient) firstly connects to an NtripCaster which is a part of a VRS workstation, via GPRS / CDMA, using the IP and specified listening Port of the Tongji VRS workstation. Then the rover-side transmits NMEA GGA strings after the HTTP request to the NtripCaster. With that the Windows Mobile device continuously receives RTCM data back from the NtripCaster and instantly sends them out into the Ashtech Z-Xtreme receiver. Finally, the Ashtech Z-Xtreme receiver will work out vector solution information of the rover-side. Thus, this paper provides a multimode mobile LBS positioning solution based on NRTK and Windows Mobile 5.0.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are crucial mediators in various physiological and pathological processes, facilitating intercellular communication and offering potential as diagnostic disease markers. However, existing EVs separation methods have limitations that hinder their clinical application. In this study, we present a novel approach using bifunctional silica microspheres (SiO2-PTB-PS) for the specific, nondestructive isolation of EVs from complex biological media. The isolated EVs were subsequently used for direct cancer detection in clinical samples. The SiO2-PTB-PS microspheres, functionalized with a phosphatidylserine (PS) recognition peptide (PSpep), specifically bound to PS on the EVs surface. Additionally, an anti-adhesion coating on the silica microspheres minimized protein contamination, enhancing purity. This affinity-based recognition and antifouling strategy ensured high-purity EVs separation. Furthermore, we developed a detection system combining SiO2-PTB-PS microspheres with surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) nanoprobes to identify protein tyrosine kinase 7 (PTK7) and epithelial cell adhesion (EpCAM) on the EVs membrane, achieving 80% precision in distinguishing cancer patients from healthy donors. The SiO2-PTB-PS microsphere system shows significant promise as a biotechnology tool, advancing the clinical application of EVs-based diagnostics.

Upwelling and anthropogenic forcing on phytoplankton productivity and community structure changes in the Zhejiang coastal area over the last 100 years

Phytoplankton productivity and community structure in marginal seas have been altered significantly during the past three decades, but it is still a challenge to distinguish the forcing mechanisms between climate change and anthropogenic activities. High time-resolution biomarker records of two 210Pb-dated sediment cores（#34： 28.5°N, 122.272°E; CJ12-1269： 28.861 9°N, 122.515 3°E） from the Min-Zhe coastal mud area were compared to reveal changes of phytoplankton productivity and community structure over the past 100 years. Phytoplankton productivity started to increase gradually from the 1970 s and increased rapidly after the late 1990 s at Site #34; and it started to increase gradually from the middle 1960 s and increased rapidly after the late 1980 s at Site CJ12-1269. Productivity of Core CJ12-1269 was higher than that of Core #34. Phytoplankton community structure variations displayed opposite patterns in the two cores. The decreasing D/B（dinosterol/brassicasterol） ratio of Core #34 since the 1960 s revealed increased diatom contribution to total productivity. In contrast, the increasing D/B ratio of Core CJ12-1269 since the 1950 s indicated increased dinoflagellate contribution to total productivity. Both the productivity increase and the increased dinoflagellate contribution in Core CJ12-1269 since the 1950–1960s were mainly caused by anthropogenic activities, as the location was closer to the Changjiang River Estuary with higher nutrient concentration and decreasing Si/N ratios. However, increased diatom contribution in Core #34 is proposed to be caused by increased coastal upwelling, with higher nutrient concentration and higher Si/N ratios.

Stable self-crosslinking phase change composites with vertically aligned boron nitride for high thermal conductivity thermal interface materials

Thermal interface materials (TIMs) must have a high through-plane thermal conductivity in order to efficiently transfer the heat generated by electronic components to heat sinks. Nevertheless, the achievement of high through-plane thermal conductivity is still a great challenge due to the inadequate thermal conductivity network as well as the lack of thermal response from the polymer matrix. Herein, we have developed a solid-solid phase change polymer matrix achieved through self-crosslinking polyethylene glycol (SCPEG). Subsequently, highperformance TIMs based on the SCPEG matrix and vertically aligned boron nitride (BN) nanosheets are obtained by bidirectional freezing, hot pressing, and longitudinal slicing. The prepared BN/SCPEG composites (BN content of 80 vol%) with a vertically oriented network achieved a through-plane thermal conductivity of 23.03 W m-1 K-1. More importantly, the vertically aligned BN nanosheets improve the thermal conductivity of composites, while the SCPEG matrix can reduce the hardness of composites by absorbing the heat, thus decreasing the contact thermal resistance.

An ultrastable sodium-ion battery anode enabled by carbon-coated porous NaTi2(PO4)3 olive-like nanospheres

NaTi2(PO4)3 (NTP) is a promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). It has drawn wide atten-tion because of its stable three-dimensional NASICON-type structure, proper redox potential, and large accommodation space for Na'. However, the inherent low electronic conductivity of the phosphate framework reduces its charge transfer kinetics, thus limiting its exploitation. Therefore, this paper pro-poses a material with carbon-coated porous NTP olive-like nanospheres (p-NTP@C) to tackle the issues above. Based on experimental data and theoretical calculations, the porous structure of the material is found to be able to provide more active sites and shorten the Na' diffusion distance. In addition, the car-bon coating can effectively improve the electron and Na' diffusion kinetics. As the anode material for SIBs, the p-NTP@C olive-like nanospheres exhibit a high reversible capacity (127.3 mAh g-1 at 0.1 C) and ultrastable cycling performance (84.8% capacity retention after 10,000 cycles at 5 C). Furthermore, the sodium-ion full cells, composed of p-NTP@C anode and Na3V2(PO4)2F3@carbon cathode, also deliver excellent performance (75.7% capacity retention after 1000 cycles at 1 C). In brief, this nanostructure design provides a viable approach for the future development of long-life and highly stable NASICON-type anode materials.(c) 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

The androgen receptor is a ligand-dependent transcriptional factor and an essential therapeutic target for prostate cancer. Competitive binding of antagonists to the androgen receptor can alleviate aberrant activation of the androgen receptor in prostate cancer. In recent years, computer-aided drug design has played an essential part in the discovery of novel androgen receptor antagonists. This review summarizes the recent advances in the discovery of novel androgen receptor antagonists through computer-aided drug design approaches;and discusses the applications of molecular modeling techniques to understand the resistance mechanisms of androgen receptor antagonists at the molecular level.

Ethnopharmacological relevance: Naozhenning granule (NZN), a widely traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescription with a long history of clinical, which is mainly used in the treatment of concussion, cerebral post-traumatic syndrome, consists of Di Huang (Radix of Rehmannia glutinosa (Gaertn.) Aim of the study: This study aimed to unravel the mechanism and material basis of NZN against traumatic brain injury. Materials and methods: In this study, a H-1 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) based metabolomic approach combined with systemsDock was employed to study the protective effect of NZN against traumatic brain injury using a cerebral concussion rat model. The morris water maze test and biochemical indexes were used to evaluate the efficacy of NZN. Results: The results of morris water maze test suggested NZN can improve the spatial learning and memory of model rats, and the superoxide dismutas (SOD) and malonyldialdehyde (MDA) level indicated that the effect of NZN was related with the regulation of oxidative stress. Multivariate analysis revealed that the effect of NZN was related with regulation of 18 brain metabolites, and the corresponding metabolic pathways were further revealed by MetPA analysis. 13 serum absorbed components were found to hit the targets both related with the metabolic regulation and cerebral trauma through systemsDock-aided molecular docking experiments, and these compounds might be served as the active compounds in NZN against cerebr

Ecosystem responses to anthropogenic and natural forcing over the last 100 years in the coastal areas of the East China Sea

Ecosystem changes of the coastal areas of the East China Sea (ECS) during the past 30 years have been characterized by increased productivity and increased occurrences of dinoflagellate red tides;both were commonly attributed to be caused by anthropogenic input of nutrients. However, climate-driven regime shifts were found in the Pacific, but they have not been observed in the ECS owing to the lack of continuous high resolution data. Hence, it is still a challenge to distinguish the influences of anthropogenic activities and climate changes on ECS shelf ecosystem. We compare phytoplankton biomarker (brassicasterol, dinosterol, and alkenones) data of five box cores from the coastal area of the ECS, which afford phytoplankton productivity and community structure records at decadal-scale resolution for the last 100 years. Phytoplankton productivity in all cores increased during the past 50 years, but community structure changes showed different trends. Relative diatom contribution revealed a decreasing trend during the past ca. 50 years in cores DH5-1 and CJ43 collected near the Changjiang Estuary, which were likely caused by increased N/Si and N/P ratios, providing conditions more favorable for dinoflagellates growth. In contrast, the relative diatom contribution increased in cores 32, 34, and DH6-3 further away and south of the Changjiang Estuary, suggesting limited influence of the Changjiang water. Instead, diatom increasing trend is likely caused by increased supply of phosphorus and silicate, as a result of larger Kuroshio intrusion flux and the corresponding strengthened coastal upwelling. Therefore, both anthropogenic activities and climate-driven coastal upwelling have contributed to increased productivities, but these two forcing mechanisms have resulted in contrasting community structure changes at different sites in the coastal area of the ECS.
