Property rights and misallocation: Evidence from land certification in China

Employing 2015 and 2017 CFD data, this paper studies how the new round of a land certification program that aims to provide secure land titles for farmers has affected factor reallocation and aggregate output in China. The main findings are that land certification results in well-defined and secure property rights and leads to land and labor reallocation to more efficient farms with positive aggregate effects. Our paper also provides direct evidence of the reallocation mechanism by showing that the reform increases renting-out by low-productivity farmers and renting-in by more productive farmers. Moreover, the reform changes the likelihood of households remaining in agriculture: low-productivity households are more likely to have migrants than high-productivity households. 提高农民工收入是转型期我国经济社会工作的重要内容。文章使用全国农村固定观察点2011-2014年数据,采取PSM-DID等识别方法,在生命周期的视角下研究了基础教育和职业培训对于提升农民工外出收入的异质性影响。随后从就业方式、从事行业和从业地点等维度进行了差异性甄别和机制性解释,并就两者如何影响收入不平等问题进行了讨论。研究发现:(1)由于现阶段农民工被锁定在低技能行业,相较于基础教育,职业培训对农民工外出收入产生了更大的正向影响,这不仅体现在短期的"即时效应",也表现为基于生命周期的"长期效应"。(2)这些影响在不同外出就业类型、从事行业以及从业地点均具有异质性。(3)基础教育和职业培训不仅能够提高农民工的收入,还能降低农村地区的收入不平等,并且职业培训的效用更大。文章对于通过提升人力资本增加农民工收入、缩小收入差距具有一定的政策启示。

Objectives To provide a comprehensive study of the intervention mechanism and compatible regularity of Chaihu Shu Gan San (CSGS) in a chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS)-induced depression model. Methods Ethological study and ELISA assay were applied to measure the phenotypes of depression after CUMS stimulate and assess the antidepressant activity of fluoxetine, CSGS and its compatibilities. The serum metabolic profile changes were revealed by untargeted Q/TOF MS-based metabolomics followed by multivariate statistical analysis. Key findings CSGS exhibits an significant intervention effect on CUMS-induced depression. After the multivariate statistical analysis, 17 potential serum biomarkers were identified and 16 of them could be regulated by CSGS. The intervention of CSGS on CUMS-induced depression involved five key pathways. Moreover, each functional unit (monarch, minister, assistant and guide medicine) in CSGS regulates different metabolites and metabolic pathways to achieve different effects on antidepressant;however, their intervention efficacies are inferior to the holistic formula, which may be due to the synergism of bioactive ingredients in the seven herbs of CSGS. Conclusions CSGS produced an obvious antidepressant activity. The comprehensive and holistic metabolomics approach could be a powerful tool to study the intervention mechanism and the compatibility rule of traditional Chinese medicine.

BackgroundImmune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are regarded as the most promising treatment for advanced-stage non-small cell lung cancer (aNSCLC). Unfortunately, there has been no unified accuracy biomarkers and systematic model specifically identified for prognostic and severe immune-related adverse events (irAEs). Our goal was to discover new biomarkers and develop a publicly accessible method of identifying patients who may maximize benefit from *** retrospective study enrolled 138 aNSCLC patients receiving ICIs treatment. Progression-free survival (PFS) and severe irAEs were end-points. Data of demographic features, severe irAEs, and peripheral blood inflammatory-nutritional and immune indices before and after 1 or 2 cycles of ICIs were collected. Independent factors were selected by least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) combined with multivariate analysis, and incorporated into nomogram construction. Internal validation was performed by applying area under curve (AUC), calibration plots, and decision *** nomograms with great predictive accuracy and discriminatory power were constructed in this study. Among them, two nomograms based on combined inflammatory-nutritional biomarkers were constructed for PFS (1 year-PFS and 2 year-PFS) and severe irAEs respectively, and one nomogram was constructed for 1 year-PFS based on immune indices. ESCLL nomogram (based on ECOG PS, preSII, changeCAR, changeLYM and postLDH) was constructed to assess PFS (1-, 2-year-AUC = 0.893 [95% CI 0.837-0.950], 0.828 [95% CI 0.721-0.935]). AdNLA nomogram (based on age, change-dNLR, changeLMR and postALI) was constructed to predict the risk of severe irAEs (AUC = 0.762 [95% CI 0.670-0.854]). NKT-B nomogram (based on change-CD3+CD56+CD16+NKT-like cells and change-B cells) was constructed to assess PFS (1-year-AUC = 0.872 [95% CI 0.764-0.965]). Introduction: Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) is a highly heterogeneous non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Based on cell origin, DLBCL is classified into two main molecular subtypes: the germinal center B-cell-like (GCB) subtype and the activated B-cell-like (ABC) subtype. ABC subtype is more aggressive and associated with a worse prognosis than GCB subtype. Previous studies have shown that cytokines play an important role in the growth of ABC subtypes, and IL-16 was supposed to be highly expressed in ABC-DLBCL, however it has not been explored in depth in DLBCL. In this study, we broadly assessed the expression and role of IL-16 on DLBCL. Method: Serum and tissues samples from patients with DLBCL and whole blood from healthy donors were collected. The characterization of protein expression, mRNA expression, and levels of cytokines in cells and tissues was detected by Western blotting, IHC/IHF, PCR, ELISA, RNA-seq, and Flow cytometry. Cells experiments such as cell proliferation, cell apoptosis, cell cycle, cell migration, and ADPC were detected by CCK-8, Flow cytometry, and Transwells. Gene knockdown or overexpression was conducted by lentiviruses and then verified by Western blotting and ELISA. We established subcutaneous tumors (human DLBCL cells and murine DLBCL cells) in BALB/c mice, BALC/c nude mice, and NOD SCID mice for the tumor size or the therapeutic evaluation. Results: First, we found that IL-16, secreted by the cleavage of active caspase-3 from the lymphoma cells under tumor burden, was highly expressed in ABC-DLBCL compared to GCB-DLBCL. The serum IL-16 levels were positively correlated with unfavorable prognosis in DLBCL patients. The dynamic change of serum IL-16 levels accurately predicted the treatment response in patients with DLBCL who received R-CHOP (Rituximab, Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Vincristine, and Prednisone) or anti-CD19 Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cells. 产权和生产率的关系一直是发展经济学研究的热点,而中国新一轮的农地确权为探究两者的关系提供了一个良好的外生自然实验。本文利用浙江大学中国家庭大数据库(CFD)2015年和2017年的数据,通过面板固定效应模型,研究了农地确权政策是否、多大程度上以及如何影响农地生产率。研究结论显示,农地确权会显著提高农地生产率(3.7%),且其效应存在时间异质性。对确权1年以内的农户没有影响,但能显著提高确权1年以上农户的农地生产率(5%)。进一步的机制探究发现,稳定的产权能增加农户对农地的长期投资,同时加速农户的农地流转行为,进而提升农地生产率。

Currently, checkpoint inhibitor-based immunotherapy has emerged as prevailing treatment modality for diverse cancers. However, immunotherapy as a first-line therapy has not consistently yielded durable responses. Moreover, the risk of immune-related adverse events increases with combination regimens. Thus, the development of predictive biomarkers is needed to optimize individuals benefit, minimize risk of toxicities, and guide combination approaches. The greatest focus has been on tumor programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), microsatellite instability (MSI), and tumor mutational burden (TMB). However, there remains a subject of debate due to thresholds variability and significant heterogeneity. Major unmet challenges in immunotherapy are the discovery and validation of predictive biomarkers. Here, we show the status of tumor PD-L1, MSI, TMB, and emerging data on novel biomarker strategies with oncogenic signaling and epigenetic regulation. Considering the exploration of peripheral and intestinal immunity has served as noninvasive alternative in predicting immunotherapy, this review also summarizes current data in systemic immunity, encompassing solute PD-L1 and TMB, circulating tumor DNA and infiltrating lymphocytes, routine emerging inflammatory markers and cytokines, as well as gut microbiota. This review provides up-to-date information on the evolving field of currently available biomarkers in predicting immunotherapy. Future exploration of novel biomarkers is warranted. The governance of service ecosystem needs to balance efficiency and fairness to promote the sustainable development of the system, making it an important topic. However, service entities in the service ecosystem have autonomy and engage in dynamic game with governance strategies, leading to governance challenges. To address this issue, we model the governance process as a repeated sequential game between the governance algorithm and service entities, and propose a novel two-level learning algorithm. This algorithm considers the learning evolution of service entities and the co-evolutionary of the governance algorithm, using reinforcement learning to learn effective governance strategies while also considering the response function of service entities to balance efficiency and fairness. Combining the ideas of bilevel optimization and online learning, this algorithm effectively balances exploration (understanding the service entities’ responses function) and exploitation (choosing efficient actions). We apply the algorithm to a classic service ecosystem, the ride-hailing service system, and empirically demonstrate its effectiveness in the governance task of order dispatching.
