In this work, a high-sensitivity distributed lateral pressure sensor based on Brillouin optical time-domain reflectometry (BOTDR) technique is proposed to enhance the pressure sensitivity using a double-coated single-mode fiber (SMF). Firstly, a pressure-induced strain model is developed to analyze the enhancement mechanism of pressure sensitivity by Brillouin frequency shift (BFS). With increasing of outer coating radius, or with decreasing of the Young’s modulus and Poisson’s ratio of outer coating, the lateral pressure sensitivity increases. By using a double-coated SMF whose outer coating radius is 1500 µm, a high sensitivity of -3.51 MHz/MPa in the range of 0-30 MPa is achieved, which is about five times higher than that of single-coated SMF. At a spatial resolution of 1.5 m, the maximum measurement error of the proposed pressure sensing system is less than 0.09 MPa. © 2023 SPIE.

The impact of perioperative nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs on the postoperative outcomes of spinal surgery: a meta-analysis of 23 randomized controlled trials

In recent years, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs), which are considered to affect the prognosis of spinal surgery, have been widely used in perioperative analgesia in spinal surgery, but the relationship between these two factors remains unclear. The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of perioperative use of NSAIDs on the prognosis of patients treated with spinal surgery. We systematically searched PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library for relevant articles published on or before July 14, 2023. We used a random-effect model for the meta-analysis to calculate the standardized mean difference (SMD) with a 95% confidence interval (CI). Sensitivity analyses were conducted to analyze stability. A total of 23 randomized clinical trials including 1457 participants met the inclusion criteria. Meta-analysis showed that NSAIDs were significantly associated with postoperative morphine use (mg) (SMD = -0.90, 95% CI -1.12 to -0.68) and postoperative pain (SMD = -0.71, 95% CI -0.85 to -0.58). These results were further confirmed by the trim-and-fill procedure and leave-one-out sensitivity analyses. The current study shows that perioperative use of NSAIDs appears to be an important factor in reducing postoperative pain and morphine use in patients undergoing spinal surgery. However, well-designed, high-quality randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are still required.

针对目前工程竹材炭化性能研究中存在的受火时间较短、灭火不及时等不足,通过8根四面受火工程竹柱炭化性能的对比试验,研究了材料类型、截面尺寸、受火方向、加工工艺和受火时间等因素对工程竹材炭化性能的影响。结果表明:工程竹材炭化后截面基本可分为3个区域,即炭化层、高温分解层和常温层;四面受火工程竹材角部区域由于双向受热而由棱角变为弧形;工程竹材炭化速率随受火时间增加略有减小,截面尺寸较大的试件炭化速率略小;相同条件下的重组竹试件炭化速率显著低于胶合竹;横纹径向炭化速率略大于横纹切向,当受火时间较长时差异不明显;一次成型的重组竹炭化性能略优于二次成型的重组竹。提出了工程竹材炭化性能数值分析模型,可快速模拟工程竹材的炭化性能,炭化速率模拟的误差均在10.2%以内,满足工程精度要求。提出的计算模型可较准确地计算工程竹材的炭化深度。根据明火试验和数值模拟结果,建议工程竹结构防火设计时胶合竹和重组竹燃烧1.00 h的名义线性炭化速率可按T/CECS 1101—2022《工程竹结构设计标准》的规定取值,即胶合竹构件的名义线性炭化速率为54 mm/h,重组竹构件的名义线性炭化速率为30 mm/h。

This paper summarizes the results of numerical simulation and fragility analysis of a five-story column-and-beam glulam frame with chevron steel-timber buckling restrained braces (BRBs). Key parameters of the rotational behavior of the bolted beam-to-column connections and column base connections were modeled and calibrated using shaking table test results. Prediction methods of the stiffness and capacity of the steel-timber BRBs were proposed and validated with the test results. An FEM model of the glulam frame with steel-timber BRBs was developed to capture the frame seismic response and validated using shaking table test results. The FEM model which considered damping change and damage accumulation achieved good agreement with shaking table test results, with the modelling errors of displacement amplitude for most condi-tions less than 15 %. Fragility analysis of the frame was conducted based on the validated FEM model. The probability of exceeding the collapse prevention limit state under the VII-rare earthquake excitations was reduced to close to zero when steel-timber BRBs were used. This study demonstrates the potential for using glulam frames with steel-timber BRBs in Chinese VII seismic regions.

Research on grid-forming (GFM) control strategies for wind turbines (WTs) has primarily focused on the electromagnetic characteristics of the WTs, overlooking the impact on the drivetrain. This limitation has hindered the application of GFM control strategies in engineering. To fill this gap, a two-mass drivetrain model is built to assess the influence of the bandwidth of the virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control strategy on drivetrain torsional vibration characteristics. A comparison of torsional vibration characteristics between the GFM-WT and traditional grid-following WT (GFL-WT) highlights the need for increased attention to drivetrain torsional vibration in GFM-WT. Then, the inadequacy of the traditional drivetrain torsional vibration suppression strategy (T-DTVSS) when applied in VSG control is examined. Finally, a novel drivetrain torsional vibration suppression strategy named virtual synchronous phase angle compensation drivetrain torsional vibration suppression strategy (VSPAC-DTVSS) is proposed, and the efficacy of this strategy is validated through simulation using PSCAD.

Estimate of contribution of near-inertial waves to the velocity shear in the Bay of Bengal based on mooring observations from2013 to 2014

Near-inertial motions contribute most of the velocity shear in the upper *** the Bay of Bengal(BoB),the annual-mean energy flux from the wind to near-inertial motions in the mixed layer in 2013 is dominated by tropical cyclone(TC)***,due to the lack of long-term observations of velocity profiles,our knowledge about interior near-inertial waves(NIWs)as well as their shear features is *** this study,we quantified the contribution of NIWs to shear by integrating the wavenumber-frequency spectra estimated from velocity profiles in the upper layers(40-440 m)of the southern Bo B from April 2013 to May *** is shown that the annual-mean proportion of near-inertial shear out of the total is approximately 50%,and the high contribution is mainly due to the enhancement of the TC processes during which the near-inertial shear accounts for nearly 80%of the *** the steady monsoon seasons,the near-inertial shear is dominant to or at least comparable with the subinertial *** contribution of NIWs to the total shear is lower during the summer monsoon than during the winter monsoon owing to more active mesoscale eddies and higher subinertial shear during the summer *** Doppler shifting of the M_(2)internal tide has little effect on the main results since the proportion of shear from the tidal motions is much lower than that from the near-inertial and subinertial motions.

Effect of nozzle vibration at different frequencies on surface structures and tensile properties of PLA parts printed by FDM

Fused deposition modeling (FDM) has been a widely used 3D printing technology. However, the poor inter-layer bonding strength leads to serious anisotropy, which hinders the further application of FDM technology. In this paper, a self-developed print head that vibrates the nozzle vertically was used to study the possibility of improving the vertical tensile strength of FDM parts, and to seek the appropriate vibration frequencies. The polylactic acid (PLA) specimens were printed at five different vibration frequencies and in two directions (horizontal and vertical). The results show that different vibration frequencies lead to different surface structures and porosities. The vertical tensile strength was increased when the vibration frequency was high enough. Moreover, vibration did not affect the horizontal tensile strength of FDM parts. This research is significant to promote the application of FDM technology.

Tin monoselenide (SnSe), which belongs to group IV-VI monochalcogenides, has obtained significant attention in the field of photodetection owing to its ultrahigh carrier mobilities. However, the great challenges of preparing high-quality films and high-performance devices still need to be conquered. Herein, high-density continuous SnSe films were deposited on a Si substrate using magnetron sputtering technology, and a self-driven photovoltaic-type broadband photodetector from the visible light range (VIS) to the near-infrared (NIR) range based on SnSe/Si heterojunction was constructed. Owing to its high carrier mobility, narrow band gap structure, and strong internal electric field, the SnSe/Si heterojunction device exhibits an ultrafast response and high responsivity (R), which achieves a wide spectral response of 405-980 nm. Under zero bias voltage, the greatest R and detectivity (D*) of the heterojunction were 704.6 mA/W and 3.36 X 10(11) Jones at 405 nm. Furthermore, the device had a fast response time (rise time) of 20.4 mu s at 980 nm of illumination. This work provides a new strategy for the fabrication of high-performance, low-cost, and self-driven photodetectors.

目的探讨经皮肝穿刺Angiojet机械血栓清除术治疗急性门静脉血栓形成(PVT)的临床效果。方法选择2015年1月至2019年2月濮阳市油田总医院收治的35例急性PVT患者为研究对象,所有患者行经皮肝穿刺Angiojet机械血栓清除术治疗,观察患者术前、术后门静脉血栓分级、门静脉及肠系膜上静脉血栓直径及肝功能Child-Pugh分级,评价血栓清除效果;所有患者术后随访3个月,观察临床症状改善及并发症发生情况;术后3个月复查CT门静脉造影,观察有无新发血栓形成。结果35例患者均成功完成手术,门静脉血栓清除效果A级23例,B级12例。术前、术后门静脉血栓直径分别为(0.73±0.12)、(0.21±0.07)cm,术前、术后肠系膜上静脉血栓直径分别为(0.43±0.10)、(0.14±0.02)cm,术后门静脉和肠系膜上静脉血栓直径均显著小于术前(t=1.216、1.725,P<0.05)。35例PVT患者术后门静脉血栓分级显著优于术前(χ2=6.342,P<0.05)。35例PVT患者术后第3天肝功能Child-Pugh分级与术前比较差异无统计学意义(χ2=0.708,P>0.05)。35例患者腹胀、腹痛症状术后均得以改善或消失,均未出现感染、肝衰竭、肾衰竭、腹腔出血、肠坏死等并发症,术后3个月复查CT门静脉造影未发现新发血栓形成患者。结论经皮肝穿刺Angiojet机械血栓清除术是一种简单、易行的门静脉血栓治疗方式,具有良好的短期血栓清除效果,但其中、远期效果仍需观察。
