With the rapid development of the electric telecommunication network, the demand for fiber channels is growing day by day. Increasing the number of optical fiber cores has become an inevitable choice for electric telecommunication network construction. If the number of optical fiber cores is increased only by increasing the outer diameter of the optical unit, the structure, weight, mechanical and electrical properties of OPGW will be changed. Therefore, there are strict restrictions on the outer diameter of the OPGW design. It is a visible solution to use small diameter fiber without increasing the outer diameter of optical cell. In this paper, the feasibility and applicability of 200 mu m G.657.A1 optical fiber applied to the electric telecommunication network are studied. The cable performance of OPGW made by 200 mu m G.657.A1 optical fiber and the transmission performance of G.657.A1 optical fiber in 10G / 100G ultra-long-haul transmission systems are tested and analyzed, which provide beneficial support and suggestions for the selection of optical fiber and cable in engineering construction of electric telecommunication.

Balancing miscibility and crystallinity enables high-efficiency organic solar cells via ternary copolymerization

Due to the limited exciton diffusion length and relatively low charge carrier mobilities of organic photovoltaic materials, donor/acceptor blends in organic solar cells (OSCs) have to form nanoscale interpenetrating network morphology with orderly molecular stacking to simultaneously ensure exciton diffusion to donor/acceptor interfaces and charge carrier transport to electrodes. Herein, two terpolymer donors, XD1 and XD2, are developed via inserting N-ethyl-2,2 '-bithiophene-3,3 '-dicarboximide (BTI) unit into the molecular skeleton of D18 on account of the traits of BTI. The crystallinity and miscibility of terpolymer donors increase along with the BTI ratio. The dual functions of introducing BTI make polymer:Y6 blend films exhibit the tendency of first improving then deteriorating in crystallinity, phase separation, trap density and thus charge carrier dynamics, resulting in shortcircuit current density and fill factor of OSCs to present the same trend. Among them, XD1:Y6 based OSCs well balance the dual functions of introducing BTI to acquire the optimized morphology, and thus achieve an impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 19.13 %, which is among the highest values of OSCs. This work not only affords guidelines for developing high-performance terpolymer donors, but also demonstrates the importance of juggling crystallinity and miscibility of organic photovoltaic materials to boost PCEs of OSCs.

Tunable photoluminescence and temperature sensing properties of Ce³⁺, Eu²⁺ co-doped Ca2-xSrxMgSi2O7 phosphors

A series of Ca2-xSrxMgSi2O7: Ce3+, Eu2+ (x = 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2) phosphors were synthesized on the basis of high temperature solid-state reaction strategy. Its phase composition, optical spectral properties, fluorescence lifetime and temperature sensitivity were investigated in detail. Under excitation at 342 nm, the emission spectra of Ca2MgSi2O7: Ce3+, Eu2+ exhibit a purple emission band (Ce3+ ions) and a green emission band (Eu2+ ions). The emission band of Ce3+ overlaps with the excitation band of Eu2+, indicating that there may be energy transfer (ET) between the two ions. The decreasing fluorescence lifetime of Ce3+ with increasing Eu2+ concentration further proves the existent of ET process in Ca2MgSi2O7: Ce3+, Eu2+ phosphor. In addition, Ca2-xSrxMgSi2O7: Ce3+, Eu2+ solid solution was designed and synthesized by Sr2+ substituting Ca2+. As Sr2+ gradually replaced Ca2+, the blue-shift of Ce3+ and Eu(2+)emission band were caused by the change of crystal field. With the increase of temperature, the fluorescence intensity of Ce3+ and Eu2+ emission bands decreased slowly and rapidly, respectively. Hence, in the Ce3+/Eu2+ co-activated Ca2-xSrxMgSi2O7 phosphor, Ce3+ ions and Eu2+ ions can be used as fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) signals. The maximum relative sensitivity can reach 2.43% K-1 (at 293 K) under 342 nm excitation. The above results indicate that Ca2-xSrxMgSi2O7: Ce3+, Eu2+ phosphors are potential candidates for optical thermometer materials.

Around 20% of patients with colorectal cancer present with acute colonic obstruction as the first sign of colon cancer. Traditionally, a multi-stage approach was favored but, given the large amount of non-reversal of stoma, the single-stage primary resection and anastomosis after colonic irrigation is becoming more popular. We concluded that it can be done after our analysis at our institution. Background: The management of obstructive left colon cancer (OLCC) remains debatable with the single-stage procedure of primary colonic anastomosis after cancer resection and on-table intracolonic lavage now being supported. Patients and Methods: Patients with acute OLCC who were admitted between January 2008 and January 2015 were distributed into 5 different groups. Group ICI underwent emergency laparotomy for primary anastomosis following colonic resection and intraoperative colonic lavage;Group HP underwent emergency Hartmann's Procedure;Group CON consisted of patients treated by conservative management with subsequent elective open cancer resection;Group COL were colostomy patients;and Group INT consisted of patients who had interventional radiology followed by open elective colon cancer resection. The demographics of the patients and comorbidity, intraoperative data, and postoperative data were collected, with P <.05 as significant. Results: There were 4 deaths in 138 cases (2.90%). There was only 1 patient who had anastomotic leakage (5.56%) in Group ICI, compared with none in Group HP and Group COL, 1 case in Group INT (7.69%), and 2 cases in Group CON (6.06%) (P >.05). Group INT and Group CON, when compared to the three surgical groups, Groups ICI, Group COL, and Group HP, individually, were statistically significant for the duration of surgery (P <.05). Conclusions: Primary anastomosis following colonic resection after irrigation can be safely performed in selected patients, with the necessary surgical expertise, with no increased risk in mortality, anastomotic leaka

Dual-emitting from Bi³⁺/Eu³⁺ co-activated akermanite phosphor for optical thermometric applications

In this paper, Ca2MgSi2O7: Bi3+, Eu3+ thermometric phosphors with dual-emitting centers were favorably designed. Phosphors were created by the approach of solid phase in high temperature condition. The inner phase structure and photoluminescence characteristics were investigated. The approaches of characterization including X-ray diffractometry, SEM, EDS mapping, ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, as well as fluorescence spectrometry were applied. The influence of temperature on the photoluminescence characteristics of Ca2MgSi2O7: Bi3+, Eu3+ phosphors was systematically researched. The intensity ratio of P-3(1)-> S-1(0) purple luminescence of Bi3+ and D-5(0)-> F-7(2) red luminescence of Eu3+ is dependent on the temperature, which provides a method of optical sensing thermometry. Under the UV excitation of 287 nm, the maximum relative sensitivity (S-r) of this Ca2MgSi2O7: Bi3+, Eu3+ phosphor is 0.66%K-1 (at 533 K) and absolute sensitivity (S-a) gets to 0.0086 K-1 (at 573 K). The experimental phenomena were explained by the thermal-quenching mechanism. The garnered results provide an idea for the future development of luminescence intensity ratio (LIR) technology sensing materials on the basis of Ca2MgSi2O7.

Matching Charge Extraction Contact for Wide-Bandgap Perovskite Solar Cells

Efficient wide-bandgap (WBG) perovskite solar cells are needed to boost the efficiency of silicon solar cells to beyond Schottky-Queisser limit, but they suffer from a larger open circuit voltage (VOC) deficit than narrower bandgap ones. Here, it is shown that one major limitation of VOC in WBG perovskite solar cells comes from the nonmatched energy levels of charge transport layers. Indene-C60 bisadduct (ICBA) with higher-lying lowest-unoccupied-molecular-orbital is needed for WBG perovskite solar cells, while its energy-disorder needs to be minimized before a larger VOC can be observed. A simple method is applied to reduce the energy disorder by isolating isomer ICBA-tran3 from the as-synthesized ICBA-mixture. WBG perovskite solar cells with ICBA-tran3 show enhanced V-OC by 60 mV, reduced V-OC deficit of 0.5 V, and then a record stabilized power conversion efficiency of 18.5%. This work points out the importance of matching the charge transport layers in perovskite solar cells when the perovskites have a different composition and energy levels.

Novel G.654.E has been large-scale deployed in optical communication network, so it has become urgent problems to reduce the splicing loss, improve the success probability of in one splicing and unsatisfactory splicing loss from different manufacturers in practical engineering applications. Based on the theory of single-mode fiber splicing loss testing, we obtained a large number of laboratory experiment data and practical network engineering data to verify the splicing performance form the same and different manufacturers of G.654.E fiber in various aspects based on different splicing machines. And also we propose a targeted splicing optimization scheme for practical engineering applications. All of the research provides a guidance for engineering application of G.654.E optical fiber in practical network engineering. © 2023 IEEE.

自“中国兽类名录(2021版)”和《中国兽类分类与分布》问世以来，这两项工作在国际和国内的哺乳动物研究以及保护生物学领域引起了极大的关注。得益于国家重大研究计划的支持，例如第二次青藏高原综合科学考察研究，国内的生物本底资源得到了进一步的明确，中国哺乳动物分类学的研究也在持续进步。在2022—2024年，一系列新的研究成果相继发表，与2022年相比，新增42个物种。为了帮助国内外学者全面了解中国哺乳动物的有效种类及其详细信息，我们对“中国兽类名录(2021版)”及《中国兽类分类与分布》涉及的中国兽类物种名录进行了更新。截至2024年12月，中国记录的兽类有效种类包括58科，263属，736种。
