A standard mastectomy should not be the only recommended breast surgical treatment for non-metastatic inflammatory breast cancer: A large population-based study in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database 18

Background: Standard mastectomy has long been the recommended breast surgical treatment for non-metastatic inflammatory breast cancer (IBC). The objective of this population-based study was to evaluate the significance of various breast surgical treatments for this highly aggressive subtype. Methods: The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program registry was searched to identify women with non-metastatic IBC receiving standard treatment including breast surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy diagnosed between 1998 and 2013. Comparisons of the proportions of various breast surgery procedures over the years were performed using Pearson's chi-square test. Breast cancer-specific survival (BCSS) and overall survival (OS) were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier product limit method and compared across groups using the log-rank statistic. Cox models were then fitted to compare the association between various breast surgical procedures and BCSS or OS after adjusting for patient and tumor characteristics. Results: A total of 3374 cases were identified. Over the years, the proportion of contralateral prophylactic mastectomy (CPM), breast reconstruction and both were increasing. The proportion of implant-based reconstruction was also increasing with no difference in survival compared with other types of reconstruction. There was no statistically significant difference in BCSS or OS among various breast surgery treatments, such as breast conserving surgery, CPM, breast reconstruction and standard unilateral mastectomy. Conclusions: Breast surgery is of great significance to the clinical outcome of IBC. Standard mastectomy should not be the only recommended breast surgical treatment. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. Reasoning in Conversation: Solving Subjective Tasks through Dialogue Simulation for Large Language Models

Large Language Models (LLMs) have achieved remarkable performance in objective tasks such as open-domain question answering and mathematical reasoning, which can often be solved through recalling learned factual knowledge or chain-of-thought style reasoning. However, we find that the performance of LLMs in subjective tasks is still unsatisfactory, such as metaphor recognition, dark humor detection, etc. Compared to objective tasks, subjective tasks focus more on interpretation or emotional response rather than a universally accepted reasoning pathway. Based on the characteristics of the tasks and the strong dialogue-generation capabilities of LLMs, we propose RiC (Reasoning in Conversation), a method that focuses on solving subjective tasks through dialogue simulation. The motivation of RiC is to mine useful contextual information by simulating dialogues instead of supplying chain-of-thought style rationales, thereby offering potential useful knowledge behind dialogues for giving the final answers. We evaluate both API-based and open-source LLMs including GPT-4, ChatGPT, and OpenChat across twelve tasks. This paper summarizes the results of numerical simulation and fragility analysis of a five-story column-and-beam glulam frame with chevron steel-timber buckling restrained braces (BRBs). Key parameters of the rotational behavior of the bolted beam-to-column connections and column base connections were modeled and calibrated using shaking table test results. Prediction methods of the stiffness and capacity of the steel-timber BRBs were proposed and validated with the test results. An FEM model of the glulam frame with steel-timber BRBs was developed to capture the frame seismic response and validated using shaking table test results. The FEM model which considered damping change and damage accumulation achieved good agreement with shaking table test results, with the modelling errors of displacement amplitude for most condi-tions less than 15 %. Fragility analysis of the frame was conducted based on the validated FEM model. The probability of exceeding the collapse prevention limit state under the VII-rare earthquake excitations was reduced to close to zero when steel-timber BRBs were used. This study demonstrates the potential for using glulam frames with steel-timber BRBs in Chinese VII seismic regions.

Regulation of Active ZnO Species on Si-based Supports with Diverse Textural Properties for Efficient Propane Dehydrogenation

Propylene is deemed as a kind of key raw materials with significant value in industrial production. Highly dispersed Zn species are served as active sites in catalyzing propane dehydrogenation reaction (PDH). More importantly, the morphology and textural properties of Si-based support exert the great influence on the formation of active Zn species. Herein, active Zn species were dispersed on macroporous commercial SiO2, mesoporous siliceous materials (SBA-15, MCF, DMSN, KIT-6), and microporous silicalite-1 (S-1), respectively. Characterization result indicated that the dispersed active ZnO species were prone to be formed on S-1, which could be attributed to the confinement effect of micropores in S-1 and the abundant Si-OH groups interacted with Zn2+ species. As a result, the optimal ZnOA/S-1 catalyst exhibited superior catalytic activity (propane conversion of 40.4 %, propylene selectivity of 96.0 %, 550 degrees C, WHSV=0.47 h(-1)) during PDH process. Furthermore, the relatively considerable performance of ZnOA/S-1 catalysts could help to offer a guidance on the design of efficient and low-cost catalysts for PDH reaction.

Amphiphilic aminated fullerenes have a broad margin of safety and significant antitumor ***,we develop a simple and versatile synthesis strategy for tetraamino-[60]fullerene epoxide(C_(60)(NR^(1)R^(2))_(4)O)using C_(60)Cl_(6)as a precursor,which notably reduces the reaction time to less than 1 h while retaining a high yield of over 80%with both cyclic and linear secondary amine substrates even at the gram *** molecular structure of C_(60)(NR^(1)R^(2))_(4)O is first validated by single-crystal diffraction,and a two-step reaction mechanism comprising nucleophilic substitution of Cl and the oxidative elimination of Cl_(2)is proposed based on experimental verification and density functional theory simulation.A set of water-soluble aminated C_(60)(NR^(1)R^(2))_(4)O was prepared in large quantities,and in vitro antitumor evaluation unveiled the critical role that terminal primary amino moieties of C_(60)(NR^(1)R^(2))_(4)O play in their antineoplastic *** work provides an effective synthesis method for aminated C_(60)(NR^(1)R^(2))_(4)O,facilitating the development of fullerene-derived tumor-targeted drugs.

Will ETF factors help to improve Fama and French 3 factor Model? Research has examined the Fama French model in different countries and its risk premium in different mathematical ways. This paper reconstructs the Fama-French model by replacing market capitalization size index (SMB) and book-to-market ratio index (HML) to other Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) factors to investigate whether ETF factors will improve the Fama French model. After comparing 15 ETFs, Factors EMD (GDP growth index) and SMG (factor IYC minus factor IYK) are chosen for our adapted risk model because of a relatively low rate of correlation and covariance. 20 sample stocks are selected form various industries and market capitalization size, and used to test to the performance of FFM and the new FFM. The result has been analyzed from 3 different ways: correlation and covariance, R squared, and p value. Although the new model fails to perform better than a traditional FFM, it may be improved by adding more factors or choosing factors which are more representative of the market. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Out of the normalization of the epidemic, urban bus epidemic management system is a safety monitoring system that focuses on the detection of large-scale public health safety in public transport, which is assembled in both vehicle and cloud. Compared with the previous mainstream stand-alone epidemic surveillance system, three kinds of detection including mask, face and temperature can be done in the vehicle before the face information is uploaded to the cloud to be processed and extracted for digital facial features, which can be reserved with the trip record and health identification of designated individuals, providing an effective deep search that can quickly screen the persons who have a risk of contact with the designated individuals and give feedback to the car. The cloud platform is linked with the command center, indicating that the vehicle terminal will give an alarm as soon as a risk person gets on board while the cloud will also send details to the command center. This system adopts the architecture of edge computing and cloud collaboration, innovatively proposing the edge cloud monitoring structure, which has high precision and speed under normal flow and meets the demand of massive detection in public transport during the epidemic. The vehicle terminal centralizes the computation on edge extended, allowing for faster response of web service even with numerous functions without compromising the epidemic surveillance. In addition, a large amount of redundant computing power saved by edge computing can assist the secondary treatment and judgment of recognition results, and a data visualization platform can be built for comprehensive management. © 2021 IEEE.

Wild animals and plants have developed a variety of adaptive traits driven by adaptive evolution,an important strategy for species survival and *** the molecular mechanisms of adaptive evolution is the key to understanding species diversification,phenotypic convergence,and inter-species *** the genome sequences of more and more non-model organisms are becoming available,the focus of studies on molecular mechanisms of adaptive evolution has shifted from the candidate gene method to genetic mapping based on genome-wide *** this study,we reviewed the latest research advances in wild animals and plants,focusing on adaptive traits,convergent evolution,and ***,we focused on the adaptive evolution of morphological,behavioral,and physiological ***,we reviewed the phenotypic convergences of life history traits and responding to environmental pressures,and the underlying molecular convergence ***,we summarized the advances of coevolution,including the four main types:mutualism,parasitism,predation and ***,these latest advances greatly increase our understanding of the underlying molecular mechanisms for diverse adaptive traits and species interaction,demonstrating that the development of evolutionary biology has been greatly accelerated by multi-omics ***,we highlighted the emerging trends and future prospects around the above three aspects of adaptive evolution.

The inferior fill factor (FF) is one of main reasons impeding further improvement of power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) in organic solar cells (OSCs). But no theoretical framework for high FFs has been established yet. Herein, an efficient strategy is developed to enhance FFs via introducing a small molecule, CNDT, into active layer to increase electron donor/acceptor interface disorder, raise energy barrier for charge back transfer, and thus reduce bimolecular recombination rate constant (krec). CNDTs tend to distribute over donor/acceptor interfaces and disturb molecular stacking of Y6 to deliver more disordered donor/acceptor interfaces but higher crystal quality in the D18:Y6+ blend film, compared to D18:Y6. Altogether, in the D18:Y6+ blend film, a higher energy of charge transfer state magnifies energy barrier for charge recombination to decrease charge recombination rate/ratio and reduce krec, inhibiting bimolecular recombination in devices. Therefore, FFs of OSCs are improved from 75.78% (D18:Y6) to 81.13% (D18:Y6+), yielding a higher PCE of 19.45%. Moreover, D18:L8-BO+ based OSCs feature FFs over 83%, a record for OSCs so far. PCE increases subsequently to 19.80%. It demonstrates that increasing interface disorder without sacrificing crystal quality enhances energy barrier of charge recombination and inhibits bimolecular recombination to efficiently improve FFs for higher PCEs.

The industrial application of the Kaufman ion thruster in its arc stage is limited owing to the instability of the discharge ***,a complete prediction model that can predict the discharge pulse in the high-current stage does not *** this study,a complete prediction model for the pulse in the ion thruster is established using the zero-dimensional plasma discharge model and equivalent circuit *** zero-dimensional plasma discharge model is used to obtain the corresponding plasma parameters by calculating the beam current,discharge current,voltage,and gas flow under actual working *** input parameters of the equivalent circuit model are calculated using empirical formulae to acquire the estimated discharge *** pulse waveforms obtained using the model are found to be consistent with the experimental *** model is used to evaluate the process of rapid changes in plasma ***,this model is employed to predict changes in the pulse waveforms when the volume of the discharge chamber and grid plate transmittance are changed.
