Conditional Sam.ling with m.notone GANs: From.Generative m.dels to Likelihood-Free Inference

We present a novel fram.work for conditional sam.ling of probability m.asures, using block triangular transport m.ps. We develop the theoretical foundations of block triangular transport in a Banach space setting, establishing general conditions under which conditional sam.ling can be achieved and drawing connections between m.notone block triangular m.ps and optim.l transport. Based on this theory, we then introduce a com.utational approach, called m.notone generative adversarial networks (m.GANs), to learn suitable block triangular m.ps. Our algorithm.uses only sam.les from.the underlying joint probability m.asure and is hence likelihood-free. Num.rical experim.nts with m.GAN dem.nstrate accurate sam.ling of conditional m.asures in synthetic exam.les, Bayesian inverse problem. involving ordinary and partial differential equations, and probabilistic im.ge inpainting.

We introduce a m.ltifidelity estim.tor of covariance m.trices form.lated as the solution to a regression problem.on the m.nifold of sym.etric positive definite m.trices. The estim.tor is positive definite by construction, and the m.halanobis distance m.nim.zed to obtain it possesses properties enabling practical com.utation. We show that our m.nifold regression m.ltifidelity (m.m.) covariance estim.tor is a m.xim.m.likelihood estim.tor under a certain error m.del on m.nifold tangent space. m.re broadly, we show that our Riem.nnian regression fram.work encom.asses existing m.ltifidelity covariance estim.tors constructed from.control variates. We dem.nstrate via num.rical exam.les that the m.m. estim.tor can provide significant decreases, up to one order of m.gnitude, in squared estim.tion error relative to both single-fidelity and other m.ltifidelity covariance estim.tors. Furtherm.re, preservation of positive definiteness ensures that our estim.tor is com.atible with downstream.tasks, such as data assim.lation and m.tric learning, in which this property is essential.

This current investigation represents as well as discusses in detail the characterization of the therm.l, m.chanical, as well as electrical characteristics of titanium.based borosilicate glasses doped transition m.tal ions (3d) in addition to their corresponding glass-ceram.cs. The building structural units of the as-prepared glasses together with their glass - ceram.c were characterized by the FTIR technique. FTIR spectra reveal characteristic silicate and borate groups vibrations, som. of the TiO4 units are form.d beside (TiO6) groups. The progressive enhancem.nt in m.crohardness and therm.l expansion values was recorded for glass - ceram.c state that occurred as a result of the crystallization of nano-sized crystals throughout the glass m.trix. The estim.ted electrical param.ters which include perm.ttivity (epsilon'), dielectric loss (epsilon''), AC conductivity (sigm.(ac)) capacitance (C), and dielectric loss dem.nstrated a distinctive variation in their values in accordance with the type of transition m.tal and /or the applied frequency. The prepared glass-ceram.c was found to be suitable for use in electronics and solar cell applications based on its overall therm.l and electrical properties.

Calcium.channel blockers were proposed to provide the benefit of heart rate control, which could potentially enhance an athlete's shooting perform.nce during Olym.ic *** present work represented a precise, accurate, sensitive, and fast differential pulse voltam.etric (DPV) approach for determ.ning am.odipine besylate (Am.) in hum.n urine. The fabricated sensor was based on a carbon paste electrode am.nded with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) that had been decorated with gold nanoparticles through a covalent diazonium.linker. The m.dified reduced graphene oxide-gold nanoparticles nanocom.osites electrode (Au-NPs@rGO) dem.nstrated a detectable im.rovem.nt in the anodic peak current of am.odipine besylate, with enhanced sensitivity, selectivity, high stability, and a low detection lim.t. As a result, it served as a useful m.thodology for the precise and reliable determ.nation of am.odipine besylate in pharm.ceuticals and biological sam.les. The ideal conditions were identified at a pH of 6.0 after studying the im.act of pH and scan rate on the peak current and potential. A linear response was attained over the concentration range of 2.0 x 10(-6) to 1.4 x 10(-5) m.l L-1 for am.odipine besylate. The proposed sensor exhibited a rapid response tim. and high sensitivity. The approach dem.nstrated potential applicability in quality control, doping detection, and routine analysis of am.odipine besylate in single or ternary pharm.ceutical form.lations. An assessm.nt of greenness indicated that the m.thodology provided superior green analysis.

A spectroscopy study was perform.d to investigate the absorption and em.ssion behavior of zinc-lead phosphate-doped Sm.+ glasses sam.le. The param.ters, density, rho, m.lar volum., V-m. sam.rium.ion concentration N, and m.an sam.rium.ion separation, R were calculated. The absorption peaks were assigned and discussed. The band gap and Urbach's energies analysis were illustrated. The em.ssion spectra and the em.ssion lifetim. decay were studied. The CIE diagram.coordinate (0.393, 0.601) of the sam.le's em.ssion was very close to the TV standard value. The oscillator strength f(cal) and f(exp) were calculated using Judd-Ofelt theory, and the m.del param.ter trend was found to be om.ga(4) > om.ga(2) > om.ga(6) which indicates high glasses rigidity. The Absorption and em.ssion cross-sections were studied and illustrated. The obtained optical param.ters, absorption, and em.ssion behaviors introduce the sam.les under investigation as a candidate for orange and reddish-orange photonic applications.

Association between placental site and successful induction of labor am.ng postdate prim.parous wom.n

PurposeThis study aim.d to determ.ne the association between placental site and successful labor *** cross-sectional study recruited all postdate prim.parous wom.n undergoing induction of labor. Eligible wom.n were subjected to proper history taking and clinical exam.nation. Vaginal exam.nation to determ.ne the bishop score was done. Routine antenatal scan was done for fetal biom.try and the placental site. Transvaginal ultrasound was done for cervical length assessm.nt. Induction of labor was com.enced and wom.n were subdivided into those with successful induction (delivered vaginally) and those with failed induction (needed cesarean delivery).ResultsSuccessful induction was achieved in 73/91 (80.2%) participants. The bishop score was significantly increased am.ng wom.n with successful induction (4.6 +/- 0.9 vs 3.9 +/- 1.1, p value 0.014). In addition, the cervical length was significantly shorter am.ng those who delivered vaginally (2.6 +/- 0.5 vs 4.2 +/- 0.5, p value 0.0001). There was no significant difference in the placental site am.ng wom.n with failed or successful induction. The cervical length was the only significant predictor for successful induction of labor (p value 0.0001). The placental site showed a non-significant role in the prediction of successful vaginal delivery (p value 0.280).ConclusionThe placental site is not associated with the outcom. of labor induction. The cervical length was the significant predictor for successful induction of labor.

Egypt’s im.ge as a tourist destination: an exploratory analysis of Dm.’s social m.dia platform.

The aim.of this study is to provide a holistic analysis of Egypt’s im.ge as a tourist destination on Social m.dia Platform. (Sm.s). As a result, the prom.ted Destination Im.ge (DI) of Egypt on Sm.s was investigated, as well as the characteristics of the Sm.s and how they are currently viewed by users (tourists). An exploratory analysis using a two-step quantitative approach was carried out. The findings show that the Egyptian Sm.s failed to m.ke a relative balance am.ng the various key attractions to successfully deliver Egypt as a destination for all tastes. However, the validity of using the Sm.s as m.rketing platform. can be im.roved if they are m.naged by a proficient team.recognizing the value of the destination and being conscious of m.rketing techniques (e.g., the relevance of content, inform.tion depth and am.unt, and the ability to develop a relationship).This paper concentrates on Egypt’s im.ge;however, the value of this study lies in being am.ng the recent studies to assess both the projected and perceived destination im.ge on social m.dia platform.. © 2021 Canadian Association for Leisure Studies / Association canadienne d’études en loisir.

For the first tim., a com.rehensive analytical approach is introduced that sim.ltaneously quantifies a m.tabolic precursor (tryptophan), a quorum.sensing biom.rker for fungal infections (tryptophol), and an antifungal drug (voriconazole) within a single platform.using reversed-phase high-perform.nce liquid chrom.tography coupled with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD). The m.thod utilizes a Pursuit PFP colum. featuring a unique pentafluorinated structure, with a m.bile phase of m.thanol: water (60:40, v/v), a flow rate of 1.0 m./m.n, and a detection wavelength set at 254.0 nm. An Analytical Quality-by-Design (AQbD) m.thodology was em.loyed, incorporating a full factorial design for optim.l m.thod developm.nt. Validation was perform.d in accordance with ICH guidelines, dem.nstrating exceptional linearity (2.0-60.0 m. g/m.) for all target analytes, along with high precision, accuracy, and system.suitability. Furtherm.re, the m.thod proved robust and versatile when applied to com.lex m.trices, including spiked hum.n serum.and pharm.ceutical tablet form.lations. Noteworthy is the integration of green and white chem.stry principles for evaluating the m.thod's sustainability, representing a significant advancem.nt in analytical technique developm.nt. Assessm.nt of greenness, blueness, and whiteness with AGREE, Com.lexGAPI index, BAGI and RGB 12 Tools, respectively. This innovative analytical platform.provides a powerful tool for the early detection and real-tim. therapeutic m.nitoring of fungal infections. By enabling the sim.ltaneous analysis of a m.tabolic m.rker, a quorum.sensing specific biom.rker, and an antifungal agent, the m.thod advances personalized m.dicine. It offers a novel, efficient, and sustainable solution for the personalized m.nagem.nt of fungal infections, enhancing both diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Synthesis and characterization of kaolin glass cullet ceram.cs m.dified with transition m.tal oxides for enhanced m.chanical and optical properties

A range of ceram.c m.terials was developed using Egyptian Kaolin com.ined with varying am.unts of glass cullet waste (0-50 wt%) through uniaxial pressing and sintering at tem.eratures between 900 and 1200 degrees C. The study further exam.ned the effects of adding transition m.tal oxides, Co3O4 or CuO, into a m.x of 70% kaolin and 30% cullet, sintered at 1000 degrees C. Phase identification and chem.cal com.osition analysis were carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and dispersive X-ray fluorescence (XRF), while physical properties such as bulk density, apparent porosity, hardness, and m.crostructure were evaluated through scanning electron m.croscopy (SEm.. The results revealed that increasing the cullet content up to 50 wt% resulted in higher apparent porosity. The sintered ceram.cs exhibited a hardness of 7.9 GPa, with the lowest bulk density (2.75 g/cm.) and highest apparent porosity (13%). Adding Co3O4 or CuO up to 30 wt% increased the density of the m.terial and reduced porosity, with Co3O4 achieving the highest density (2.44 g/cm.) and lowest porosity (13%). CuO slightly increased porosity to around 4%, with a density of 2.46 g/cm.. Co3O4-based ceram.cs exhibited superior hardness com.ared to CuO, as the latter encouraged the form.tion of anorthite. Optical tests showed that Co3O4 caused a color change from.light to dark, while CuO sam.les turned dark brown to black. CuO-containing ceram.cs had reflectance values below 40%, indicating their potential application in antireflection coatings for solar cells.

Borophosphate host glasses doped with zinc oxide (ZnO), titanium.dioxide (TiO2), tellurium.dioxide (TeO2), or cerium.oxide (CeO2) were synthesized using rapid quenching techniques. Fourier transform.infrared (FTIR) spectra, along with deconvoluted FTIR spectra, were recorded in the 400-4000 cm.-1) range. Using the m.dels of Tauc and Urbach, the optical energy band gaps of these glasses were found to be 3.212, 3.289, 3.262, 3.087, and 2.475 eV respectively. Due to the incorporation of different m.tal ions into the prepared glasses, the density increased and the m.lar volum. decreased, m.king the glass structure highly com.act. Since the elastic m.duli are directly related to the average cross-link density, the shear and longitudinal m.duli show a forward proportionality with the average cross-link density. Detailed reporting focused on the m.ss attenuation coefficients (m. m. and exposure build-up factors (EBF), crucial for evaluating the shielding properties of the m.terial within the energy range of 0.015-15 m.V and penetration depth up to 40 m.an free paths (m.p). Glass sam.les doped with tellurium.dioxide exhibited the highest gam.a attenuation due to their higher effective atom.c num.er com.ared to the other sam.les. Com.ared to Portland concrete, the prepared glass com.osites showed higher m.ss attenuation coefficients across the entire investigated energy range. These results suggest that although Borophosphate glasses doped with cerium.oxide have preferred m.chanical properties com.ared with the other prepared glasses, Borophosphate glasses doped with tellurium.dioxide could serve as transparent shielding m.terial for m.dical applications due to their higher attenuation coefficient.
