Background Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a pandem.c disease which predom.nantly affects the respiratory system.with high critical care m.rtality and m.rbidity, yet it also causes m.ltiple organs dysfunction in affected patients. There is a strong evidence that it increases the susceptibility of cerebrovascular strokes in such patients. Besides this prothrom.otic com.lication, arterial dissection can be one of its m.chanism. increasing the risks of stroke. Case presentation Herein, we report a case of spontaneous isolated subclavian artery dissection in a COVID-19 patient. Sixty-one-year-old fem.le presented with spontaneous isolated subclavian artery dissection without any traum.tic events nor history of connective tissue disorders. She had left upper lim. ischem.a followed by cerebellar, thalam.c and occipital infarctions. Whether this patient's subclavian artery dissection was triggered by exaggerated inflam.atory response or arteriopathy secondary to COVID-19 rem.ins speculative. Conclusions Nonetheless, arterial dissection can be one of its com.lications, it is essential for treating physicians to be attentive for the diversity of COVID-19 clinical m.nifestations.

Background: Little phosphorus availability in soil is one of the m.jor forces for crop production. Phosphate solubilizing fungi enhance available phosphorus from.soils and contribute to achieve the plants phosphorus requirem.nt. Phosphate solubilizing fungi are im.ortant com.onent of soil m.crobiota and play an essential role in the biogeochem.cal cycling of phosphorus in natural ecosystem.. Results: The study tested the potential of the isolated phosphate solubilizing fungi to inhibit the growth of Altem.ria altem.ta, Fusarium.solani, Geotrichum.candidum. Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotium.rolfsii. A total of 137 fungal isolates were isolated and identified from.30 soil sam.les. Nine isolates solubilized inorganic phosphate (tricalcium.phosphate). Eight of these isolates were isolated from.the rhizosphere of Alhagi graecorum.Boiss., Allium.cepa L., Ehrharta calycina Sm., Ludwigia stolonifera (Guill. & Perr.) Raven, m.ntha longifolia L., Phragm.tes com.unisTrin., Triticum.aestivum.L. and Zea m.ys L., respectively and one isolate was isolated from.islands free soil. Purified single spore cultures of these nine isolates were identified to species level by m.lti loci DNA barcoding using internal transcribed spacer 1 and 2 (ITS1 and ITS 2) of the rRNA gene cluster, Calm.dulin (Cam. and beta-tubulin)BenA) gene m.rkers. Conclusions: The isolated phosphate solubilizing fungi belonged to two genera, Aspergillus and Penicillium. The phosphate solubilization index ranged from.1 to 1.5. Aspergillius japonicus 2 had the highest solubilization index (1.5) and also had the highest inhibition percentage (70%) against Altem.ria altem.ta. This isolate is prom.sing for developm.nt of biocontrol agent of Fusarium.solani, Geotricum.candidium.and Alternaria altem.ta. The highest phosphate solubilization by Aspergillius japonicus 2 was obtained by using sucrose as carbon source and also am.onium.chloride and tryptophan as nitrogen source. Asthm. and chronic obstructive pulm.nary disease (COPD) are the m.st com.on diagnoses for adults and children with respiratory tract inflam.ation. Recently, a novel fixed dose com.ination consisting of Ipratropium.and Fenoterol has been released for the m.nagem.nt and control of the sym.tom. of such disorders. The current research has newly developed and optim.zed three sm.rt, accurate, sim.le, cost-effective, and eco-friendly spectrophotom.tric m.thods that enabled the sim.ltaneous determ.nation of the drugs under study in their com.ined inhaler dosage form. without the need for any previous separation steps, using water as a green solvent. The strategy em.loyed was based on calculating one or two factors as a num.rical spectrum.or constant, which provided the com.lete rem.val of any com.onent in the m.xture that m.ght overlap and the m.them.tical filtration of the targeted analyte. The m.thods developed could be classified into two types of spectrophotom.tric windows. Window I;involved absorption spectrum.in their original zero-order form. (degrees D), which included recently designed m.thods nam.d induced concentration subtraction (ICS) and induced dual wavelength (IDW). While window III focused on the ratio spectrum.as the induced am.litude m.dulation (IAm. m.thod. The extrem.ly low absorptivity and lack of distinct absorption m.xim.m.in the zero-order absorption spectrum.of Ipratropium.were two intrinsic challenges that were better overcom. by the proposed spectrophotom.tric m.thods than by the conventionally used ones. According to ICH guidelines, the proposed m.thods were validated using unified regression over range 2.0-40.0 m. g/m. in the ICS m.thod, while the linearity ranges for the IDW and IAm.m.thods were 5.0-40.0 m. g/m. of Ipratropium.and 2.0-40.0 m. g/m. of Fenoterol. m.reover, the three proposed m.thods were effectively used to assay the co-form.lated m.rketed inhaler and further expanded to confirm.the delivered dose uniform.ty in com.liance with t

Sm.O3-SrO-B2O3 glasses containing ascending ratios of ZnO were created via the standard m.lt quenching approach. The optical and lum.nescent properties were assessed by analysing absorption, reflectance, excitation, and em.ssion spectra obtained from.m.asurem.nts. The density, m.lar volum., m.tallization criterion, optical basicity, optical bandgap, Urbach energy, and dispersion param.ters were evaluated and discussed. The spectral radiative transitions of the Sm.+ ion in different excited states were investigated using the Judd-Ofelt (J-O) theorem. The least square fit m.thod was used to evaluate the J-O intensity param.ters, which were subsequently utilized to determ.ne radiative characteristics including transition probability, branching ratio, and lifetim.. For all glasses, the reddish orange transition 4G5/2 -> 6H7/2 dem.nstrated the highest strength and had the m.xim.m.values for stim.lated em.ssion cross section, radiative transition probability, and gain bandwidth. The chrom.ticity coordinates fell within the reddish orange region and the colour correlated tem.eratures ranged from.1840 to 1935 K, suggesting the suitability of the glasses for warm.reddish orange em.ssion -based laser and photonic applications.

This study suggests a sm.ll, low-cost, and adequate blood glucose sensor. A triangle-shaped defective ground structure (DGS) and a parallel linked m.crostrip line on the upper surface m.ke up its architecture. The bandwidth and sensitivity of the suggested sensor can be greatly enhanced by optim.zing the dim.nsions and position. In this configuration, 14 GHz operation is possible with a reflection coefficient of -39dB. A detailed sensitivity analysis is being conducted for each concentration of several glucose concentrations, referred to be m.terial under test (m.T), from.80 to 4000 m./dL. The sim.lated results reveal a frequency shift from.14 to 2.5 GHz, due to the loading effect of the blood and the container. An am.litude shift occurs due to the change in the blood glucose level when operating in the reflection m.de. The applied sensor has an average sensitivity of 1.07%. © 2022 IEEE.

From.the useless m.nicipal solid waste (m.W) ashes, CeO2, Gd2O3 and CeO2 + Gd2O3 doped borosilicate glasses were organized via m.lting-quenching procedure. Various optical, structural, physical and radiation shielding param.ters were exam.ned towards the influence of 100 kGy of gam.a-radiation. UV-visible NIR spectra revealed UV peaks at 351, 348 and 370 nm.corresponding to the trivalent states of Ce3+ and Gd3+ ions, while, photolum.nescence (PL) spectra displayed asym.etric broad excitations of Ce3+ and Gd3+ ions due to 4f -> 5d transitions, and em.ssion intense bands at 412, 434, and 417 nm. CIE chrom.ticity shows that Gd3+ ions increase the lum.nescence of Ce3+. FTIR absorption bands revealed an overlapping between tetrahedral groups of silicate (SiO4), with trigonal (BO3) and tetrahedral (BO4) units of borate. The influence of 100 kGy obtains quite reduction in UV-visible NIR and PL peaks, large stability in FTIR and ESR spectra, and stability of therm.l expansion coefficient (CTE) as well. The whole data revealed optical, structural and physical stability of glasses after irradiation besides an enhancem.nt in m.crohardness owing to m.re structural com.actness and high bonding connectivity. Radiation shielding param.ters from.Phy(-)X/PSD program.showed higher values of m.ss (m.C) and linear attenuation coefficients (LAC), and effective atom.c num.er (Z(eff)) in the order of;glass (Ce+Gd) > glass (Ce) > glass (Gd). Ce + Gd doped glass revealed also the lowest half value layer (HVL) com.aring to other shielding com.ercial concretes. The study recom.ends the beneficial and econom.cal use of the useless m.W ash to produce CeO2 and/or Gd2O3 borosilicate glasses with hopeful radiation shielding features.

A com.arative study was conducted to investigate the gam.a and neutron radiation shielding properties of com.osites m.de from.iron m.tal (m.cro and nano) dispersed within natural rubber (NR). The aim.was to attenuate neutron and gam.a-rays. The study utilized the gam.a spectroscopy technique and the m.nte Carlo FLUKA code. To assess the gam.a ray shielding, a 3x3 Nal (Tl) detector and radioactive point sources were em.loyed. Two com.arative studies were carried out, one using Fe loaded NR (Fe/NR) com.osites in m.crosize and the other using Fe/NR com.osites in nanosize. The objective was to determ.ne the im.act of iron nanoparticles on the shielding ability of the com.osites. The findings revealed that the Fe/NR com.osites in nanosize exhibited superior gam.a radiation shielding ability com.ared with the Fe/NR com.osites in m.crosize. These results were supported by the FLUKA m.nte Carlo code, which dem.nstrated good agreem.nt with both the experim.ntal and theoretical XCOm.data. This study introduces a com.rehensive system.for glucose level m.asurem.nt using a com.act two-port rectangular dielectric resonator (RDR) to validate the system.s accuracy against traditional invasive glucom.ter m.asurem.nts. The system.features a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) that generates a 2.47-GHz frequency. A power detector converts the RF signal to dc voltage levels, and a m.ltim.ter facilitates the interpretation. The prim.ry sensor com.onent is energized via a rectangular aperture-coupling m.chanism.in the ground plane. The RDR acts as a sensor because of the varying dielectric perm.ttivity linked to different glucose concentrations, leading to unique resonance frequencies and m.gnitude shifts. The bare sensor's resonance frequency was designed to be at 3.28 GHz, shifting to 2.47 GHz when loaded with a hum.n finger. The Cole-Cole m.thod m.deled the hum.n thum. with the blood layer in sim.lation. An electrical prototype enhanced detection, providing a 39E(-02) m.z/m./dL resolution at 2.47 GHz. The RDR sensors' S-param.ters highly correlated with laboratory-based testing, achieving 92.68% accuracy. Com.ared to hom.-based invasive glucom.ter m.asurem.nts, the proposed continuous glucose m.nitoring (CGm. system.with a two-port RDR sensor m.asures diabetes value changes with 92.08% precision.

Aim. Assessm.nt of interfacial gaps and m.chanical im.act of the m.terials layering between Cention Forte and Equia Forte restorations with two form. of Calcium.Silicate Cem.nts (CSCs) at the interfacial surface at two-tim. intervals. m.thodology: Six groups of 72 prim.ry m.lars were categorized by restorative m.terial type and CSCs: Cention Forte(C), Cention Forte without prim.r (Cx), and Equia Forte (EQ). All were applied over m.A Angelus powder (m. or Bio-C Repair putty (P). Restorative m.terials were applied im.ediately (subgroup A) or delayed (Subgroup B). SEm.was used to detect interface gaps. EDX m.asured elem.nt m.gration from.the interface at specific distances. Vickers m.crohardness Tester assessed m.crohardness. Results: Regarding SEm. there were no gaps between CSCs interfaces of both types (Powder and Putty) with all restorations at two-tim. intervals. m.crohardness, there was a statistically nonsignificant difference between subgroups A & B in all groups except at 200 m. m.in the Cention groups (subgroup A) was significantly lower than (subgroup B) (P = 0.002, 0.03) respectively. At 400 m. m.in the m.A Angelus powder Group Cx, subgroup A was significantly higher than subgroup B (P = 0.003*). While Bio-C Repair putty in Group EQ (subgroup A) was significantly higher than (Subgroup B) (P < 0.0001*). Conclusions: The delayed application of Cention Forte over two types of CSCs is useful in getting the m.xim.m.HV and, in turn, the long survival rate of the filling. Im.ediate application of Cention Forte without prim.r is better over both types of CSCs. The delayed application of Equia Forte over m.A angelus powder is m.re considerable.

3D-printed polylactic acid (PLA+) is one of the newest biodegradable m.terials seeking entrance into the industrial field. The effect of 3D printing process param.ters (infill pattern (IP), infill density (ID), layer height (LH), line width (LW), shell thickness (ST), printing tem.erature (PT), printing speed (PS), and raster angle) on m.chanical properties has been studied. In addition, this paper aim. to investigate the effect of changing both the IP and raster angle on the m.chanical properties of 3D-printed PLA+. The results revealed that the highest value of tensile strength can be obtained at an ID of 100%, concentric IP, LH of 0.1 m., LW of 0.8 m., ST of 0.8 m., PT of 215 C, and PS of 60 m./s. © 2023 World Scientific Publishing Com.any.
