The software development of wheeled crane load spectrum calculation will involve a series of database design problems, especially the characteristics of many data table types, and large number of fields. Based on the above situation, a method of batch and fast database creation based on high-level programming language is proposed. Firstly, the requirement analysis and detailed design of the wheel crane load spectrum database are carried out, then the different database creation methods are analyzed and compared, the specific database creation algorithm flow is given, and finally the database creation software is developed in C++ language and a running example is given. The proposed database design method is efficient and labor-saving, and is conducive to the rapid construction of data tables for large number of fields in the crane load spectrum. © 2023 SPIE.

Machine vision is used to assess surface roughness of work pieces in different circumstance light conditions. Different from the traditional stylus way, the machine vision method is a non-contact and non-destructive surface inspection method, and therefore has the prospect in manufacturing application. The effect of ambient light on gray-level distribution parameters was first analyzed. Then a new method, which counts the pixel numbers whose gray value is larger than sum of the Otsu threshold and a given constant, was proposed to represent different roughness. Finally some experiments were conducted to compare the proposed method with other two methods-the first is the method based on standard deviation and root mean square height of the gray-level distribution proposed by Luk, and the second is on gray-level co-occurrence matrix-to evaluate surfaces with different roughness in different conditions. The parameters, such as the constant of the proposed method, the distance and the angle of the gray-level co-occurrence matrix, were optimized to obtain better inspecting performance. Results show that the variance sum between inspecting values of the proposed method and its corresponding real surface roughness is less than half of the other two ways. © 2008 SPIE.

Apratoxin E provided the inspiration for the design of apratoxin A/E hybrids under preclinical development. Through total synthesis using two different strategies, it was determined that the originally proposed configuration of the thiazoline at C30 is opposite from that in apratoxin A, in contrast to previous assumptions on biosynthetic grounds. The epimer and true natural apratoxin E were synthesized, and the biological activities were evaluated.

Previous studies have shown that secretory IgA (sIgA) was critically involved in IgA nephropathy (IgAN) immune responses. Toll-like receptors (TLRs), especially TLR4 which participates in mucosal immunity, may be involved in the pathogenesis of IgAN. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether sIgA and TLR4 interact to mediate kidney damage in IgAN patients. IgAN patients with positive sIgA deposition in renal tissues were screened by immunofluorescence assay. Patient salivary sIgA (P-sIgA) was collected and purified by jacalin affinity chromatography. Salivary sIgA from healthy volunteers was used as a control (N-sIgA). Expression of TLR4, MyD88, NF-kappa B, TNF-alpha, IL-6, and MCP-1 were detected in the mesangial area of IgAN patients by immunohistochemistry, the expression levels in patients with positive sIgA deposition were higher than that with negative sIgA deposition. Human renal mesangial cells (HRMCs) were cultured in vitro, flow cytometry showed that P-sIgA bound HRMCs significantly better than N-sIgA. HRMCs were cultured in the presence of sIgA (400 mu g/mL) for 24 h, compared with cells cultured with N-sIgA, HRMCs cultured in vitro with P-sIgA showed enhanced expression of TLR4, increased secretion of TNF-alpha, IL-6, and MCP-1, and increased expression of MyD88/NF-kappa B. TLR4 shRNA silencing and NF-kappa B inhibition both reduced the ability of HRMCs to synthesize TNF-alpha, IL-6, and MCP-1. Our results indicate that sIgA may induce high expression of TLR4 in HRMCs and further activate downstream signalling pathways, prompting HRMCs to secrete multiple cytokines and thereby mediating kidney damage in IgAN patients.

Efficiently monitoring the condition of civil infrastructure requires automating the structural condition assessment in visual inspection. This paper proposes an Attention -Enhanced Co -Interactive Fusion Network (AECIF-Net) for automatic structural condition assessment in visual bridge inspection. AECIF-Net can simultaneously parse structural elements and segment surface defects on the elements in inspection images. It integrates two task -specific relearning subnets to extract task -specific features from an overall feature embedding. A co -interactive feature fusion module further captures the spatial correlation and facilitates information sharing between tasks. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed AECIF-Net outperforms the current state-of-the-art approaches, achieving promising performance with 92.11% mIoU for element segmentation and 87.16% mIoU for corrosion segmentation on the test set of the new benchmark dataset Steel Bridge Condition Inspection Visual (SBCIV). An ablation study verifies the merits of the designs for AECIF-Net, and a case study demonstrates its capability to automate structural condition assessment.

In this paper, the scissors aerial work platforms is taken as the object, and the kinematics model of the potential energy recovery system of the work platform is established to solve the problem of the energy loss of the downward potential energy of the electric push rod scissors aerial work platforms, and the downward recovery strategy of the work platform based on the motor brake is designed;Based on the existing NSGA-II optimization algorithm, the Gompers model was used to set the crossover and variation functions, and the dynamic crowding degree was used to select individuals to accelerate the algorithm’s convergence and improve the algorithm’s sensitivity. Matlab/SIMULINK software was used to simulate and analyze the descending process of the scissors aerial work platform to verify the correctness of the proposed recovery strategy. The research results show that the proposed potential energy recovery strategy based on the improved NSGA-II (I-NSGA-II) can ensure a safe descent speed of less than 0.17 m/s, and the possible energy recovery efficiency reaches 10.11% when the load is 280 kg. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Hyperspectral images (HSIs) can help deliver more reliable representations of real scenes than traditional images and enhance the performance of many computer vision tasks. However, in real cases, an HSI is often degraded by a mixture of various types of noise, including Gaussian noise and impulse noise. In this paper, we propose a logarithmic nonconvex regularization model for HSI mixed noise removal. The logarithmic penalty function can approximate the tensor fibered rank more accurately and treats singular values differently. An alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) is also presented to solve the optimization problem, and each subproblem within ADMM is proven to have a closed-form solution. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Oysters have evolved an effective and powerful innate immune system to recognize foreign substances and eliminate invaders through orchestrated immune responses such as programmed cell death (PCD), including apoptosis, autophagy, necroptosis, and pyroptosis. Both apoptosis and autophagy have been considered to be crucial mechanisms for oyster defence. However, the role of pyroptosis, a gasdermin (GSDM)-dependent programmed cell death pathway that is critical for defence against infection, in oysters remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the activity of Crassostrea hongkongensis GSDME ( Ch GSDME), which is cleaved by inflammatory *** caspase-1 ( Ch CASP1). qRT - PCR analysis showed that Ch CASP1 and Ch GSDME were widely expressed in oyster developmental stages and tissues, and responded to Vibrio coralliilyticus challenge. Meanwhile, hemocyte death was reduced after knockdown of Ch CASP1 or Ch GSDME by RNA interference (RNAi). Following injection of V. coralliilyticus , the cell death rate of the knockdown Ch CASP1 or Ch GSDME group was significantly lower than that of the control group. In vitro , coexpressing Ch CASP1 and Ch GSDME in HEK293T cells resulted in pyroptotic morphology, a bubble-like membrane, and a truncated protein ( Ch GSDME N -terminal). Subsequently, immunofluorescence revealed that Ch GSDME-NT oligomerized at the cell membrane, inducing bubble-like membrane formation, thereby causing low cytotoxicity. Luciferase reporter gene analysis revealed that Ch CASP1 significantly upregulated Nuclear factor kappa-B (NF- kappa B) and modestly upregulated the p53 signalling pathway. Taken together, our study demonstrated that the pyroptosis-related genes Ch CASP1 and Ch GSDME mediate pyroptosis in HEK293T cells and play important roles in cell death during V. coralliilyticus infection in C. hongkongensis .

An ultrafine V₂O₃ modified hierarchical porous carbon microsphere as a high performance cathode matrix for lithium-sulfur batteries

An ultrafine V2O3 modified carbon microsphere (VCM) was effectively prepared by a facile wet impregnation method and used as a cathode matrix for lithium-sulfur batteries. This resulting composite presents hierarchical porous frameworks of mesopores together with micropores, effectively restrains soluble polysulfides and enhances mass transport. Moreover, V2O3 modification in this mono-dispersed microsphere material can trap polysulfides and mitigate loss of active materials by chemical adsorption. The S/VCM nanocomposites show a high initial discharge capacity of 1177 mA h g(-1) at 0.5C and an excellent cycling performance with 921 mA h g(-1) after 100 cycles. And it still maintains higher rate capacities of 843 and 719 mA h g(-1) at 1C and 2C, respectively, after 100 cycles. These improved electrochemical performances are attributed to the synergistic effects of hierarchical pores and uniformly dispersed vanadium trioxide.

The hybrid perovskite CH3NH3PbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) is a promising material for developing novel optoelectronic devices. Due to its intrinsic non-layered crystal structure, it remains challenging to synthesize two-dimensional (2D) single-crystalline CH3NH3PbX3 with nanoscale thickness. Here, we report a bottom-up approach to fabricate large CH3NH3PbX3 2D crystals via liquid-phase growth on a mica substrate. The strong potassium-halogen interactions at the perovskite/mica interface decrease the interface energy, driving the striking in-plane growth of the perovskite. The grown 2D CH3NH3PbBr3 crystal was characterized as 8 nm in thickness and hundreds of micrometers in lateral size. Weak exciton binding energy was crucial for improving the photoelectric performance of 2D CH3NH3PbBr3. A visible-light photodetector with a metal/insulator/perovskite configuration was finally achieved with a photoresponsivity of 126 A W-1 and a bandwidth exceeding 80 kHz. Our work proves that the liquid-phase growth on mica is a controllable method to grow 2D hybrid CH3NH3PbX3 perovskites, which can facilitate both device applications and fundamental investigations.
