This paper proposes an adaptive generalized predictive control for dynamic positioning of ships with unknown model parameters and unknown time-varying environmental disturbances. The controlled auto-regressive integrated moving average (CARIMA) model is employed to describe the movements of ships with model parameter and disturbance uncertainties. The recursive least square method with forgetting factor is utilized to design adaptive laws to estimate the CARIMA model parameters online. Considering both the positioning accuracy and the change intensity of control increments, a cost function is constructed. The optimal control increments that minimize the cost function are obtained by using Lagrange multiplier method. Then, the adaptive control law is designed to maintain ship's position and heading at desired values. Finally, simulation studies in different cases are carried out and simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Interpretation of pathogenicity and clinical features of multiple pathogens in pediatric lower respiratory tract infections by tNGS RPTM analysis

BackgroundTo characterize the epidemiology of pathogens in children with lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI) using targeted next-generation sequencing (tNGS), assess the correlation between reads per ten million (RPTM) of co-detected pathogens, identify common co-detection patterns, and explore their clinical *** aged 29 days to 14 years hospitalized for LRTI at the Department of Pediatrics, Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, from April 2023 to August 2024 were included. Bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) or nasopharyngeal swab (NS) samples were tested for pathogens using tNGS, and clinical data were collected. The data and RPTM were statistically analyzed based on lung X-ray and CT scan results, classifying cases as pneumonia or lung consolidation/pulmonary atelectasis (LC/PA).ResultsAmong 1118 children, the highest pathogen detection rate was Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) at 60.20%, followed by Haemophilus influenzae (HI) at 42.40% and Streptococcus pneumoniae (SP) at 35.42%. In children under 4 years old, common pathogens were HI, Rhinovirus (RhV), and Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). For those over 4 years old, MP and HI were predominant. In common pneumonia cases, MP, HI, and RhV were frequent, with MP being the primary pathogen in LC/PA. 80.70% of respiratory samples detected two or more pathogens, and viruses were more frequently detected in NS than in BALF. Correlation analysis showed that MP RPTM was negatively correlated with other co-detected pathogens' RPTM, SP was negatively correlated with RSV but positively correlated with Influenza virus (flu virus), HI was positively correlated with Adenovirus (ADV) and flu virus, RhV was negatively correlated with flu virus. Multi-objective optimization of water electrolysis based on coupling model of electrochemistry and multiphase flow

In this paper, a coupling model of electrochemistry and multiphase flow is established, which considers the interaction between electrochemical reactions and the flow regime of gas and liquid. Based on the ANOVA analysis, response surface methodology, and multi-objective optimization, the effects of electrolyte temperature, electrolyte concentration, and inlet velocity on the performance of water electrolysis are further studied. The calculation results show that with the increase of temperature and concentration of electrolyte, the average value of current density gradually increases, but the uniformity of current density and the specific energy consumption will deteriorate. Increasing the inlet velocity can simultaneously improve the average value and the uniformity of current density and specific energy consumption. And the intelligent optimization algorithm is introduced into the field of water electrolysis to obtain the local sensitivity and the Pareto front. Three groups of optimized parameters are determined. Compared with the original parameters, the average value of the current density of the optimized parameters increases by 7.04 % on average, the variance of the current density of that decreases by 28.14 % on average, and the specific energy consumption of the optimized parameters reduces by 45.90 % on average. The empirical correlation between operating parameters and electrolyzer performance is obtained. The research results provide guidance for the design of electrolyzer.

This paper presents an event-triggered anti-disturbance control scheme for the trajectory tracking of ships with time-varying ocean disturbances and actuator saturation. By combining the disturbance observer with the auxiliary dynamic system, a robust disturbance observer-based control is designed with the backstepping technique and event-triggered mechanism. The disturbance observer provides the on-line time-varying disturbance estimations. The auxiliary dynamic system helps to reduce the actuator saturation effects. The event-triggered mechanism avoids the wear and tear of actuators through implementing the control signals on triggering periods. It is theoretically proven that the event-triggered anti-disturbance controller achieves the trajectory tracking and all signals in the closed-loop tracking control systems are uniformly ultimately bounded. Illustrative simulations on a 1:70 scaled model ship confirm the event-triggered anti-disturbance tracking control. © 2023 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Differential congenital cytomegalovirus infection in dichorionic diamniotic twins-A case report and literature review

Background: Cases of differential congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in twins are rarely reported. The chance of congenital infection and the clinical outcome of monochorionic diamniotic or dichorionic diamniotic twins are highly uncertain. Cases presentation: We reported a case of differential congenital CMV infection in dichorionic diamniotic twins. Despite being exposed to the same maternal environment and similar genetic background, twins reacted differently to maternal infection and presented with non-concordant infection status. The potential mechanism of discordant infection from aspects of type of chorion and placenta and immune status has been discussed through literature review. Conclusion: CMV infection can present as differential congenital infection in twin pregnancy, with various clinical symptoms. Fetal cellular immune function may be involved in the pathogenesis. Inverse cascade based on nonlinear Schrodinger equation analysis with nonlinear feedback control

This paper focuses on the wave inverse cascade instability analysis with self-regulating feedback control for a fixed external potential field and a highly localized finite-amplitude initial pulse. The wave inverse cascade instability analysis is carried out by solving the corresponding two-dimensional generalized nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The wave field firstly suffers from the modulation instability, followed by collapse into turbulence containing the shortest-wavelength modes in the system. This is followed by inverse cascade of the shortest wavelength modes back to the longer-wavelength ones, until a statistical stationary turbulent state is reached. It is found that the inverse cascade is limited to the shorter-wavelength modes with the wavenumber |k| =100. This shows that the viscous damping $p_i$ acts like a control switch to the inverse cascade, and the feedback control can also regulate the intensity of the inverse cascade mode.

Predominance of A2063G mutant strains in the Mycoplasma pneumoniae epidemic in children: A clinical and epidemiological study in 2023 in Wuhan, China

Objectives: The prevalence of respiratory infectious diseases has changed in the post-COVID-19 epidemic era, and mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) infection in children has attracted wide attention. Methods: Children hospitalized for pneumonia in Wuhan, China, in 2023 were enrolled. Respiratory secretions were obtained for the targeted next -generation sequencing (tNGS) including mutation of MP. Pulmonary inflammation was divided into bronchopneumonia and pulmonary consolidation/atelectasis according to lung computed tomography imaging. Results: Of the 667 pediatric pneumonia, 478 were MP positive (72%). The positive rate of MP detected by tNGS increased from April, and MP had become the primary pathogen of pneumonia in children in 2023. The 23S rRNA mutations were all A2063G, accounting for 85% of detected MP. The clinical symptoms of the mutant and wild -type strains were similar, with half of them experiencing atelectasis and lung consolidation. Early bronchoscopic lavage combined with azithromycin in pediatric pulmonary consolidation was an effective therapy strategy, which could be an alternative selection to MP pneumonia treatment. Conclusions: A2063G mutant strain MP was the primary pathogen of mycoplasma pneumoniae in children recently, which was often complicated by extra -pulmonary symptoms and complications.
