Review on vehicle sideslip angle estimation

The control of vehicle stability is significantly influenced by the pivotal role of the sideslip angle, and it is a major parameter in intelligent vehicle systems. The immediate and precise determination of sideslip angle forms the foundation for stability systems. Exact calculation of sideslip angle enables the real-time assessment, allowing for timely intervention to ensure safe driving, mainly from three aspects: physical model, estimation algorithm and adaptive parameter estimation method. Comparing the estimated sideslip angle of body dynamics model, tyre model and steering system model, which could be concluded that prevailing approach for sideslip angle estimation is dynamic estimation method. An analysis is conducted to examine the variations among different estimation algorithms used for the calculation of the sideslip angle;also, the advantages and disadvantages of various observers are expounded. Finally, we present an effective implementation of adaptive parameter estimation to enhance the accuracy of sideslip angle.

Estimation of road adhesion coefficient based on Sage-Husa adaptive filtering improved square root cubature Kalman filter algorithm

Due to the influence of various factors, real-time and stability analysis of road adhesion coefficient is extremely complex. This paper proposes a road adhesion coefficient estimation algorithm based on Sage-Husa adaptive filtering improved square root cubature Kalman filter based on the experimental vehicle driven by in-wheel motor. Based on the Dugoff tyre model, an eight-degree-of-freedom vehicle dynamics model is established. Then, using the vehicle state parameters, the Sage-Husa adaptive filter combined with the square root cubature Kalman filter algorithm is used to estimate the road adhesion coefficient. Through the simulation comparison with traditional unscented Kalman filter algorithm, combined with real vehicle road experiment, the results show that the estimation accuracy of the in-wheel motor drive electric vehicle based on improved square root cubature Kalman filter algorithm based on the Sage-Husa adaptive filter is significantly improved. The algorithm can meet estimation accuracy and real-time requirements of road adhesion coefficient.

NMR technique revealed the metabolic interference mechanism of the combined exposure to cadmium and tributyltin in grass carp larvae (Oct, 10.1007/s11356-022-23368-z, 2022)

Widespread human activity has resulted in the presence of different pollutants in the aquatic environment that does not exist in isolation. The study of the effects of contamination of aquatic organisms is of great significance. To assess the individual and combined toxicity of cadmium (Cd) and tributyltin (TBT) to aquatic organisms, juvenile grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) were exposed to Cd (2.97 mg/L), TBT (7.5 μg/L), and their mixture MIX. The biological response was evaluated by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis of plasma metabolites. Plasma samples at 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and 48 days post-exposure were analyzed using detection by NMR technique. The typical correlation analysis (CCA) analysis revealed that TBT had the greatest effect on plasma metabolism, followed by MIX and Cd. The interference pathway to grass carp was similar to that of TBT and MIX. Both Cd and TBT exposure alone or in combination can lead to metabolic abnormalities in TCA cycle-related pathways and interfere with energy metabolism. These results provide more detailed information for the metabolic study of pollutants and data for assessing the health risks of Cd, TBT, and MIX at the metabolic level.

UKF Estimation Method of Centroid Slip Angle for Vehicle Stability Control

Vehicle center of sideslip angle is an essential parameter in vehicle stability control system. In view of the current problems is taken as the research object including low estimation accuracy and poor real-time performance of the current centroid sideslip angle, the four-wheel motor driven electric vehicle. The estimation problem of the sideslip angle is studied in-depth when the vehicle is in a nonlinear state. In addition, an Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) estimation method is proposed to reduce observation error and improve the practicability of the estimation system. First of all, the research starts with building a 7-degree-of-freedom vehicle model which is based on the Dugoff tire model. Then, after measuring the state parameters, the UKF algorithm is used to estimate the sideslip angle. By comparing with the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) algorithm, it is confirmed that the estimation method can not only better estimate the center of sideslip angle in real time, but also greater improve the handling stability of the vehicle in the driving state. Besides, the effectiveness of the algorithm is further verified by the real vehicle road test.

Novel De Novo Intronic Variant of SYNGAP1 Associated With the Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Background SYNGAP1 encodes a Ras/Rap GTPase-activating protein that is predominantly expressed in the brain with the functional roles in regulating synaptic plasticity, spine morphogenesis, and cognition function. Pathogenic variants in SYNGAP1 have been associated with a spectrum of neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, epilepsy, hypotonia, and the features of autism spectrum disorder. The aim of this study was to identify a novel SYNGAP1 gene variant linked to neurodevelopmental disorders and to evaluate the pathogenicity of the detected variant. Methods A novel de novo intronic variant in SYNGAP1 was identified by Whole exome sequencing (WES) and confirmed by Sanger sequencing. Minigene assays were conducted to assess whether the intronic variant in SYNGAP1 influenced the normal splicing of mRNA. Results A novel de novo intronic variant in SYNGAP1 (c.3582+2T>G) was indentified with clinical features suggestive of neurodevelopmental related disorders. Minigene splicing analysis demonstrated that this noncanonical splice site variant led to the activation of a cryptic acceptor splice site. Consequently, 101 base pairs of intron 16 were aberrantly retained in the mRNA, leading to a frameshift. This frameshift resulted in the introduction of a premature stop codon (TGA) in the coding sequence and the production of a truncated SYNGAP1 protein, potentially leding to loss of function and subsequent disruption of its biological roles. Conclusion Our findings highlight the significance of de novo pathogenic SYNGAP1 variants at the intron 16/exon 17 junction in the SYNGAP1-related neurodevelopmental disorders, providing novel insights into the genetic basis and diagnosis of these disabilities.

Development of Experimental Teaching Platform for In-Wheel Motor Electric Vehicle On-Board Testing

Background The on-board test system is the key technology of in-wheel motor electric vehicles, which plays a vital role in the safety of the driver and the efficient operation of the vehicle. Methods Based on the requirements of the current in-wheel motor electric vehicle experiment teaching content, this research develops an in-wheel motor electric vehicle experimental teaching platform based on Matlab/Simulink and LabVIEW to meet the current needs of the in-wheel motor electric vehicle experiment teaching content. Results The vehicle speed, sideslip angle, and road adhesion coefficient can be accurately estimated using the vehicle test platform developed in the article. Conclusion With accurate experimental results, the functionality, value, and teaching value of the in-wheel motor electric vehicle experimental teaching platform were fully verified.

The wear mechanism and tool life of four types of oil country tubular goods chasers are studied herein via metallographic microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,and energy dispersive *** show that when the tool has a fine and uniform microstructure,the main failure mode is wear ***,observed phenomena including large chip bonding,coating peeling,cracks demonstrate that the main wear mechanisms of the tool are adhesive wear,abrasive wear,coating flaking,and microchipping.

Integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses reveals the molecular bases of alfalfa regrowth processes of new shoots after cutting under different water and nitrogen availability

Alfalfa regrowth is a complex process that is frequently constrained by deficits in water and N fertilisers after cutting. However, the transcriptomic regulatory networks and primary metabolic changes during regrowth are largely unknown. The alfalfa regrowth biomass responses to water deficiency and water deficiency supplied with N fertilisers and corresponding transcriptional and primary metabolic changes in new leaves and roots were systematically explored at 9 and 14 d after cutting. Water deficiency significantly decreased the alfalfa regrowth biomass. Integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis demonstrated that osmoprotection related genes, sucrose and starch metabolic pathways, hormone biosynthesis and signalling pathways, and key transcription factors in new leaves and roots are responsible for alfalfa regrowth under water deficiency. Furthermore, alfalfa regrowth biomass was significantly improved in the presence of N fertilisers under water deficiency through multigene network coordination and metabolic pathway rearrangement. Interestingly, differentially expressed genes expression occurred predominantly in roots at 9 d after cutting, while it mainly occurred in the new leaves at 14 d after cutting. This study revealed the complex molecular mechanisms of alfalfa regrowth and provided theoretical support for optimal irrigation and N fertiliser strategies that will achieve maximum biomass of alfalfa in dryland farming areas.

Identification of novel CDH23 heterozygous variants causing autosomal recessive nonsyndromic hearing loss

Background hearing loss adversely impacts language development, acquisition, and the social and cognitive maturation of affected children. The hearing loss etiology mainly includes genetic factors and environmental factors, of which the former account for about 50-60%. Objective This study aimed to investigate the genetic basis of autosomal recessive non-syndromic hearing loss (NSHL) by identifying and characterizing novel variants in the CDH23 gene. Furthermore, it seeks to determine the pathogenic potential of the noncanonical splice site variant c.2398-6G > A. Methods Comprehensive clinical evaluation and whole-exome sequencing (WES) were performed on the girl. The WES analysis revealed two novel variants in the CDH23 gene, associated with nonsyndromic deafness 12 (DFNB12). To further explore the pathogenicity of these variants, functional studies involving in vivo splicing analysis were performed on the novel noncanonical splice site variant, c.2398-6G > A, which was initially classified as a variant of uncertain significance (VUS). Results Whole-exome sequencing of the patient identified two compound heterozygous variants in CDH23: c.2398-6G > A, a noncanonical splice site variant, and c.6068C > A (p. Ser2023Ter), a nonsense mutation. In vitro splicing assays demonstrated that c.2398-6G > A caused aberrant splicing, leading to a frameshift (p. Val800Alafs*6) and the production of a truncated protein, as confirmed by structural protein analysis. The study revealed novel mutations as likely pathogenic, linking both variants to autosomal recessive NSHL. Conclusions Our analyses revealed novel compound heterozygous mutations in CDH23 associated with autosomal recessive NSHL, thereby expanding the mutational landscape of CDH23-related hearing loss and increasing knowledge about the CDH23 splice site variants.
