Boosting photocatalytic reduction over perylene-C3N5 driven by constructing donor-acceptor structure

As a promising N-rich carbon nitride photocatalyst, the suboptimal carrier separation capability represents a significant obstacle to C3N5 practical application. Herein, this work presents a constructing donor-acceptor structure (D-A) strategy for incorporating the aromatic molecule Perylene 3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid (PTA) into the backbone of C3N5 (PTA-C3N5). The incorporation of PTA can facilitate the delocalization of pi electrons, which enables the effective participation of photogenerated electrons in the reaction, thereby enhancing the photocatalytic capacity of the material. Moreover, the formation of the D-A structure also alters the band structure, and facilitates the migration of charge carriers. As a result, the synthesized PTA-C3N5 exhibits a markedly elevated efficiency for the photocatalytic reduction of Cr(VI), with a rate constant (k) of 15.65 x 10-3 min-1, which is approximately twice that of the original C3N5. Furthermore, the addition of PTA resulted in a notable enhancement in the crystallinity of the catalyst, effectively ameliorate the defects and suppressed the complexation of photogenerated carriers. This work presents a processing strategy for carbon nitride structural adjustment, which introduces a new paradigm for the design of organic materials at the D-A interface with the objective of achieving enhanced photocatalytic capabilities.

目的探讨3.5 mm重建钢板结合2.7 mm微型钢板垂直固定治疗锁骨中段粉碎性骨折患者的临床效果。方法选取2016年8月至2018年12月医院收治的30例锁骨中段粉碎性骨折患者作为研究对象,随机分为试验组与对照组,每组15例。试验组应用双钢板垂直固定技术完成手术,对照组应用单一锁定钢板完成手术,比较两组手术相关指标、术后第1天的复位情况及术后指标(骨性愈合时间及术后1年肩关节功能评分)。结果两组手术时间、术中出血量、术中透视次数及住院时间比较,差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05);术后第1天,两组复位情况均较好,且试验组稍优于对照组,但两组比较,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);试验组骨性愈合时间短于对照组,术后1年肩关节功能评分高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论采用3.5 mm重建钢板结合2.7 mm微型钢板垂直固定锁骨中段粉碎性骨折,更加符合骨折固定的生物力学原则,骨折复位良好,固定更加坚固,有利于术后早期功能锻炼,从而可促进骨折一期愈合及早期患肢功能恢复。

Unraveling the impact of intervention strategies and oxygen disparity in humification during domestic waste composting

This study constructs three different photovoltaic assisted composting systems to treat rural domestic waste, and explores the interaction pathways between biomacromolecules and other factors under oxygen disparity at gradient heights of the compost. The optimized mode of regular turning and ventilation-dehydration significantly reduced the moisture content by 53.6% and increased the seed germination index by 35.6%. The oxygen content at different heights under the optimized mode significantly affects the physicochemical properties of the compost, and the degradation of cellulose, hemicellulose, and protein in the middle is higher than other parts. The structural equation model shows that the physicochemical properties at the bottom are affected by biomacromolecules, which may be related to volatile fatty acids(VFAs) produced under low oxygen *** research results show that using manual turning and ventilation-dehydration as the optimized process can promote compost maturity, and oxygen concentration has an important impact on the humification process of the compost.

Gas-induced modulation of carbon nitride morphology through a green one-step calcination strategy

Considering that graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) has been employed as a photocatalytic material, multidimensional morphology modulation is of particular importance as the most effective method for increasing the specific surface area and enhancing the catalytic properties among all modifications. This work focuses on the development of a facile and green synthesis strategy for multidimensional carbon nitride, and the catalytic properties of the prepared materials were evaluated by utilizing Cr(vi) reduction as a model reaction. Ultimately, following the optimization of the preparation conditions such as calcination temperature and heating rate, the sample TCN-5, a conical tubular carbon nitride material with sea urchin-like stacking, was fabricated through the simple one-step calcination of melamine. The material exhibits the most optimal photocatalytic activity owing to its distinctive one-dimensional structure and exhibits enhanced light-sensing and mass transfer capabilities. Furthermore, the theory of gas-induced modulation in the morphology and structure of carbon nitride is further proposed. Briefly, the ammonia gas produced by precursor polymerisation affects the molecular structure at the microscopic level by altering the particle stacking density and exerts an influence on the morphology of the sample at the macroscopic level through the pushing and stripping effect of the gas. This work provides substantial evidence and theoretical guidance for the optimized modification of carbon nitride, presenting a new way for developing advanced carbon nitride materials and beyond.

This paper delves into the influence of Confucian philosophical thought on the artistic creation of Chinese landscape painting. Firstly, the core concepts and historical development of Confucian philosophical thought are summarized, and then the origin, genre and artistic characteristics of Chinese landscape painting are introduced. This paper analyzes in detail the embodiment of Confucian morality in landscape painting, as well as the consistency between Confucian aesthetics and the aesthetic pursuit of landscape painting. Through the interpretation of typical cases, the specific expression of Confucian philosophical thought in landscape painting works is demonstrated, and the relationship between the changes in landscape painting styles and Confucianism in different historical periods is discussed. Finally, the important summarized, and the possible new perspectives and methodologies in future research are prospected.

Interface Manipulation of Composite Solid Polymer Electrolyte with Polydopamine to Construct Durable and Fast Li plus Conduction Pathways

Taking advantage of light weight, flexibility, and flame retardancy, solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) provide a feasible solution to these safety concerns and to the enhancement of energy density for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). However, the development of SPEs is still restricted by low ionic conductivity. Herein, we develop a type of SPE filler built by flower-like Co3O4 microspheres as a lithiophilic backbone and polydopamine (PDA) as a multifunctional coating for the engineering of the interphase properties of the polyether-based SPEs. The hierarchical structure of Co3O4 affords large interfacial contact area with SPEs and effectively suppresses the regular crystallinity of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) segments. Moreover, the PDA coating layers with diverse surface functionalities serve as a versatile mediator to finely tune ionic distribution and transport behavior via multiple Lewis acid-base interactions. We uncover the interphase characterizations and their synergistic effects to enhance Li+ conductivity and mechanical/electrochemical stability. This study provides intriguing alternatives for developing composite solid polymer electrolytes (CPEs), for which we further demonstrate the potential application of Co3O4@PDA-based CPEs in all-solid-state LIBs.

Economic evaluation of hepatocellular carcinoma surveillance in chronic hepatitis B patients with virological remission

BackgroundSubsequent risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) persists in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients with virological remission. We aimed to assess the cost-effectiveness of HCC surveillance in those patients and determine appropriate age to commence or discontinue *** developed an individual-based state transition model, simulating the advancement of HCC in CHB patients with virological remission. We used this model to compare the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) and long-term health outcomes of biannual or annual HCC surveillance for varying durations with no *** compensated cirrhosis patients with CHB, biannual surveillance was not cost-effective for all age groups, while annual surveillance was cost-effective for patients aged 55 to 70 (ICER USD 28,076 / quality-adjusted life years [QALY] gained), which detected 176 additional early HCC cases in a 100,000-person cohort compared to no surveillance. In CHB patients with advanced fibrosis, annual surveillance for patients aged 40 to 75 was the most cost-effective strategy (ICER USD 4,984/QALY gained), which detected 289 additional early HCC per 100,000 *** surveillance for patients with compensated cirrhosis or advanced fibrosis was a more cost-effective option that demonstrated substantial economic benefits, being slightly less effective than biannual surveillance at a significantly lower cost, providing insights for professionals in evaluating HCC surveillance among high-risk patients in China. The most cost-effective age group for surveillance of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) varied depending on the stage of the disease. Regular annual surveillance for patients with compensated cirrhosis or advanced fibrosis was more cost-effective option, showing great economic and clinical benefits with slightly less effective than biannual surveillance but significantly lower cost.

Funding inequality in the research community is a topic of widespread research interest. Research on funding inequality has evolved rapidly over time, yet there is a lack of comprehensive understanding of current research on this topic. We obtained 911 scientific papers published in 1990-2023 from the Web of Science core dataset and used bibliometric analysis to examine the evolution of the important issue of funding equality in the scientific research community. Specifically, we find that the number of papers about funding inequality has increased significantly in recent years. Among them, Scientometrics has published 29 papers related to funding inequality during the years. In addition, the results showed that Research Libraries UK ranked first in the number of outputs with a total of 77 publications related to funding inequality. Our research also goes a step further by identifying research experts in the field of funding inequality. Finally, the results of thematic clustering show that existing research related to funding inequality mainly revolves around issues such as gender differences, peer review, and productivity. © 2023 The Authors. Evaluation of the quality of products from multiple industrial-scale composting treatment facilities for kitchen waste and exploration of influencing factors

The aerobic composting process is extensively utilized to manage kitchen waste. Nonetheless, the variability in the quality of compost derived from engineering practices which significantly hinders its broader industrial application. This work investigated the final products of kitchen waste compost at multiple industrial-scale treatment facilities utilizing three distinct aerobic composting processes in a bid to explore key factors affecting compost quality. The quality evaluation was based on technical parameters like seed germination index (GI), and limiting factors such as heavy metal content. The results showed that most of the compost products failed to meet the established standards, with GI being the primary limiting indicator. Furthermore, maturity assessments suggested that compost with low GI exhibited reduced humification could not be recommended for agricultural use. The investigation delved into the primary determinants of GI, focusing on risk factors such as the oil and salt of kitchen waste, and the microbial community of the humification driving forces. The results indicated that products with low GI had higher oil and salt content and a relatively simple microbial community. A thorough analysis suggested that excessive levels oil and salt were potential influencing factors on GI, as they stimulated the activity of acid-producing bacteria like Lactobacillus, , suppressed the activity of humificationpromoting bacteria such as Actinomarinales, , and influenced the decomposition and humification processes of organic matter and total nitrogen, thereby affecting product quality. The findings provide valuable insights for improving kitchen waste compost products for agricultural applications.

A Heterogeneous Remote Sensing Image Matching Method for Urban Areas With Complex Terrain Based on 3D Spatial Relationship Constraints

Heterogeneous high-resolution remote sensing image matching will be disturbed by the differences in sensor type, imaging angle, height, and imaging time, and the matching difficulty is further increased in complex scenes with dense urban buildings and noticeable height differences. This article proposes a method for matching heterogeneous high-resolution remote sensing images based on partitioned feature extraction and three-dimensional spatial constraints. First, this article conducts image partitioning based on the geometric differences of ground objects. Two feature extraction methods, namely adaptive phase threshold and weighted moment map, are employed to extract feature points independently. To address the issue of inaccurate feature descriptions caused by drastic changes in viewing angles in buildings, we construct a robust feature descriptor by combining a multiscale phase weighted energy convolution histogram with a new gradient location orientation histogram-like local feature descriptor. In addition, a new similarity measure incorporating three-dimensional spatial constraints and the marginalizing sample consensus method is applied to eliminate mismatched point pairs, ensuring the acquisition of precise matching points. Based on the feature detection results of two different synthetic data sets, it is evident that the proposed detector outperforms the three classical detectors in terms of repeatability and uniformity. Ultimately, the matching performance is experimentally verified on six groups of heterogeneous high-resolution remote sensing images. The experimental results show that the proposed method significantly outperforms RIFT, HAPCG, and MS-HLMO methods and achieves the best matching accuracy results.
