Effect of community learning mechanism on cooperation in conflict societies

The emergence of communities effectively promotes the cooperation under the framework of evolutionary game theory. Without adding any additional rewards or punishments, we propose a community learning mechanism that focuses on individual learning from the closest one with the highest benefit, which is used to simulate Prisoner's Dilemma game model on a square lattice. Results indicate that the emergence of communities promotes the cooperation, and introducing this mechanisms will inevitably lead to the emergence of the largest community. Meanwhile, two major factors, including distance and population size, are discussed on how to impact the evolution of cooperation and communities. Based on these factors, our research discovers that the biggest community is more conducive to overall cooperation than small ones, which corresponds to areal phenomenon that the big counties have more stable and peaceful society and environment.

Convergence analysis of finite element approximations for a nonlinear second order hyperbolic optimal control problems

This paper focused on approximating a second-order nonlinear hyperbolic optimal control problem. By introducing a new variable, the hyperbolic equation was converted into two parabolic equations. A second-order fully discrete scheme was obtained by combining the Crank-Nicolson formula with the finite element method. The error estimation for this scheme was derived utilizing the second-order sufficient optimality condition and auxiliary problems. To validate the effectiveness of the fully discrete scheme, a numerical example was presented.

A variational MAX ensemble-based time-stepping numerical method is proposed to simulate a transient heat equation with uncertain Robin boundary and diffusion ff usion coefficients. ffi cients. Instead of employing ensemble means for Robin coefficients ffi cients as well as diffusion ff usion coefficients, ffi cients, the maximums of these coefficients ffi cients are utilized at per time step. This is a new variational ensemble Monte Carlo (MC) numerical method, which we call the variational MAX ensemble Monte Carlo (VMEMC) method. In contrast with related methodologies, the novelty of this algorithm is that it is unconditionally stable. And also, the error estimates are proved. Numerical tests illustrate the theoretical properties for the VMEMC method.

Inspired by the idea of game learning, this paper studies the Cournot game model of the multi-oligopoly market and studies the realization of the Nash equilibrium by using adaptive differential evolution algorithm based on relaxation strategies. The realization path of Nash equilibrium is attained through an adaptive differential evolution based on a relaxation strategy procedure applied to an objective function with best response dynamics. Among them, the objective function is derived from the sum of the payoff changes of each oligopoly under best response decisions. And theoretically proved that the Nash equilibrium is the optimal solution of the objective function.

Selective leaching of vanadium and silver from silver-associated vanadium shale by stepwise leaching

Silver-associated vanadium shale is a large vanadium-silver composite deposit with great development potential discovered in recent years. Recovering this type of resource comprehensively is challenging due to its complexity, difficulty in selection, and high carbonate content. In this study, the effective recovery of V and Ag can be achieved by adopting a stepwise leaching process. Initially, V is leached from the raw ore using the system of H2SO4-CaF2, followed by the leaching of Ag from the resulting leaching residue through the system of H2SO4NaClO3-NaCl. Under the optimal vanadium leaching conditions, the leaching efficiency of V and Ag reached 82.25 % and 0.81 % respectively, achieving the separation of V and Ag at the source. The leaching efficiency of Ag was 92.09 % under the optimum silver leaching conditions. V2O5 products with a purity of 98.31 % has been successfully prepared. The vanadium leaching process has a pre-destructive effect on the silver-bearing minerals and reduces the amount of Cl-containing reagents compared with direct silver leaching. The vanadium-bearing muscovite was structurally disrupted by H2SO4 and CaF2 to achieve vanadium release. Ag+ was ultimately present in solution as AgClx(x- 1)-(x = 2,3,4) through coordination regulation. The vanadium-silver stepwise leaching process and leaching mechanism are proposed to provide technical support for the comprehensive recycling of vanadium and silver resources.

An ensemble scheme for the numerical solution of a random transient heat equation with uncertain inputs

An ensemble-based time stepping scheme is applied to solving a transient heat equation with random Robin boundary and diffusion coefficients. By introducing two ensemble means of Robin boundary and diffusion coefficients, we propose a new ensemble Monte Carlo (EMC) scheme for the transient heat equation. The EMC scheme solves a single linear system including several right-side vectors at each time step. Stability analysis and error estimates are derived. Two numerical examples verify the theoretical results and the validity of the EMC method.

Comprehensive extraction of V, Ni and Mo from black shale via selective leaching oxidation process

Black shale is one of the most representative sources of vanadium, nickel and molybdenum in China. Due to the poor endowment of minerals in black shale, V, Ni, Mo and other metals complex co-associated endowment state, extraction is difficult and long-term unused, resulting in a significant waste of resources. In this paper, it is shown that V, Ni and Mo can be obtained from black shale by a stepwise oxidation leaching process. In a first leaching process, V and Ni are effectively leached simultaneously. Mo is left in the residue. The leaching efficiency of V, Ni and Mo was 86.81 %, 89.19 % and 5.80 % respectively under the leaching conditions of 35 wt% H2SO4, 4 wt% CaF2, 1.2:1 liquid to solid ratio (L/kg), 95 degrees C and 8 h. The residue was then leached twice. The leaching efficiency of molybdenum was 91.10 % under the leaching conditions of 25 wt% H2SO4, 8 wt% NaClO3, 1.5:1 liquid to solid ratio (L/kg), 45 degrees C and 7 h. V2O5 products have been successfully prepared, the purity of V2O5 reaches 98.34 %. A stepwise oxidation leaching method has been proposed to separate the vanadium, nickel and molybdenum in the leaching process. Vanadium, nickel and molybdenum can be effectively extracted from the black shale by the stepwise oxidation leaching process to maximize the utilization of the resources.

Chronic wound is one of the complications of diabetes, and its difficult cure results in increased disability rate and mortality rate, which brings serious psychological and economic burden to patients. Excessive inflammation is one of the key reasons for poor tissue healing in chronic diabetic wounds. Herewith, the development of wound dressings with anti-inflammation and promoting tissue repair is of great significance for the treatment of chronic diabetic wounds. In this work, the Ac2-26 (Ac) peptide was loaded into the hyaluronic acid (HA) complex hydrogel for diabetic wound therapy. The hydrogel containing Ac had good mechanical properties, self-healing properties, and adhesion. It could down-regulate the M1/M2 phenotype of macrophages effectively, thereby promoting collagen type III (COL-III) secretion and migration of L929 and angiogenesis of HUVECs. Furthermore, the hydrogel containing Ac could restore the oxidative phosphorylation process and down-regulated toll-like receptor signaling pathway and inflammatory gene expression in the pathological environment of diabetes, showing a superior anti-inflammatory effect to ultimately promote the collagen deposition and angiogenesis in tissues for wounds repair. The HA complex hydrogel containing Ac demonstrated a good potential for clinical application in diabetic wound repair.

Biform game analysis with the Owen allocation function for a supply chain game under precedence constraints

Supply chain operational management is a challenging yet critical task owing to the supply chain's complex structure. For example, the flow of material information establishes diverse ordered relationships among members. At the same time, suppliers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and others collaboratively make decisions on multiple fronts, which may result in a situation where a member belongs to various coalitions. This complex supply chain operational management can be coordinated by members implementing reasonable and efficient joint competitive strategies within the ordered relationship. To address the operational management challenges posed by these intricate relationships, we construct a coalition structure by introducing the precedence constraints. Based on this structure, we propose a biform game mechanism that integrates non-cooperative and cooperative games to harmonize the joint competitive strategies of members. This mechanism can model the precedence relationships of member and asset flow, derive a Nash equilibrium for joint independent investment, and provide an efficient allocation scheme based on an extended Owen value. Moreover, through numerical analysis, we illustrate the influence of precedence constraints on this mechanism. Our findings contribute to the ongoing operational management on the role of member relationships in enhancing supply chain performance by developing a novel biform game in which the cooperation stage is modeled as a cooperative game with precedence-constrained coalition intersections.

A stochastic and time-delay evolutionary game of food safety regulation under central government punishment mechanism

Food safety is a pressing issue affecting public health, and strengthening food safety regulation has become a widespread consensus. This study addresses the three-party game involving food production enterprises, third-party testing agencies, and government regulatory authorities. Considering the influence of random disturbances and time delays on the strategy-choosing and behavioral evolution of game players, a three-party stochastic evolutionary game model for food safety regulation with time delays is established. The stability of the model is analyzed by using Lyapunov's method, and the strategy evolution of the game players is investigated while combining numerical simulations. The study shows that the net benefit of the players' expected strategies is key in determining whether the overall game system can reach the optimal equilibrium. The level of penalties imposed by the central government on local government regulators is key to food safety. The main factors influencing the strategy-choosing of game players are the level of penalties imposed by the local government regulators on third-party testing agencies, together with the supervision costs of the local government regulators. Random disturbances have a certain impact on strategy-choosing of the game players, with a greater impact on testing agencies, followed by food production enterprises, and a weaker impact on government regulatory authorities. The time delay factors exhibit a certain delay effect on the evolutionary path of strategy-choosing among the game players, which aligns with the actual situation. The findings of the study have implications for food safety regulation.
