In this paper,effect of two strategies on afterglow behavior of Lu_(2)O_(3):Eu single crystal scintillato r,Pr^(3+)codoping and solid solution with Sc_(2)O_(3),were studied *** groups of Lu_(2)O_(3):5 at%Eu,x at%Pr(x=0,0.2,0.5,1,2 and 5)and(Lu1-yScy)_(2)O_(3):5 at%Eu(y=0,20 at%,50 at%and 70 at%)single crystals were grown by floating zone(FZ)method in air *** structures of as-grown crystals were determined by X-ray diffraction(XRD).The scintillation,photoluminescence properties and carrier trap states were investigated through afterglow,X-ray excitation luminescence(XEL),transmittance,photoluminescence excitation(PLE)and photoluminescence(PL),PL decay and thermal stimulated luminescence(TSL)*** is found that with the increase of Pr^(3+)concentration,the afterglow level of the system decreases at the expense of scintillation luminescence ***,although Sc_(2)O_(3):Eu presents much lower afterglow intensity than Lu_(2)O_(3):Eu,the addition of Sc_(2)O_(3)will just increase the afterglow level of the(Lu1-yScy)_(2)O_(3):5 at%Eu single crystal *** mechanisms for above phenomena are discussed based on experimental results.

This article proposes a layered blockchain architecture based on partitioned IoT to reduce the scalability requirements of the Internet of Things for blockchain. In addition, in response to the problem of low performance of traditional Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus algorithms such as PBFT in IoT scenarios, a parallel block verification Byzantine consensus algorithm (PVBFT) is proposed based on a layered blockchain architecture based on partitioned IoT. This algorithm improves the VRF lottery algorithm to select consensus nodes quickly, replaces single chain storage structure with DAG structure, introduces coordination nodes, and fully utilizes the high concurrency of DAG. We have implemented multi-node collision-free block packaging and multi-block parallel verification, using aggregation signature to reduce communication costs during the Byzantine consensus process and effectively improve the throughput of the consensus algorithm. The experimental results show that compared with the PBFT consensus algorithm, PVBFT has lower communication overhead and higher performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Efficient and Ultrafast Oxyorthosilicate Scintillator by Activator Valence State Manipulation

There is an urgent need for faster, brighter, and more controllable scintillation materials in advanced nuclear medicine, high-energy physical experiments, and dark matter particle detection. Nevertheless, the trade-off between high emission efficiency and fast timing characteristics remains a common challenge in the entire optical field. To address this issue, we develop a composition engineering strategy that involves multisite selective doping. This strategy aims to transform nearly all Ce3+ into fast-emitting Ce4+ while synergistically suppressing the electron traps. Even at very low doping concentrations, the designed Ca2+, Al3+, and Ce3+ tridoped oxyorthosilicate exhibits a scintillation decay (tau(d)) acceleration of 20%, accompanied by a 25% increase in light yield (LY). The ratio of emission efficiency and timing characteristics (LY/tau(d)) can be enhanced by 56%, which realizes the perfect balance of high LY and fast tau(d). Our work provides a method for designing efficient, ultrafast, and controllable scintillators in multicomponent systems, thus paving the way for high-resolution radiation detection and imaging applications.

Cross-Modal 360° Depth Completion and Reconstruction for Large-Scale Indoor Environment

In a large-scale epidemic, reducing direct contact among medical personnel, attendants and patients has become a necessary means of epidemic prevention and control. Intelligent vehicles and mobile robots in the hospital environment, such as disinfection vehicles, logistics vehicles, nursing robots, and guiding robots, play an important role in improving the operational efficiency of the medical system and promoting epidemic prevention and governance. Powerful capabilities of environmental spatial perception and reconstruction are the keys to accurate localization, navigation, and obstacle avoidance for intelligent vehicles and autonomous robots in such operations. Omnidirectional perception is becoming increasingly important and proliferative in autonomous vehicles and robots since its wide field of view significantly enhances the perception ability. However, the lack of dense and accurate 360 degrees depth datasets has brought the challenge to the omnidirectional perception. In this paper, we propose a depth-sensing and reconstruction system to address this challenge in the large-scale indoor environment. First, we design an omnidirectional depth completion convolutional neural network model, in which a spherical normalized convolutional and the unit sphere area-based loss are introduced to extract features from cross-modal omnidirectional input with unequal sparsity and deal with the imbalanced data distribution and distortion in the panoramic input. In addition, we present a 3D reconstruction system by integrating our depth completion into omnidirectional localization and dense mapping. We evaluate our method on 360D large-scale indoor datasets and real-world sequences of a challenging hospital scene. Extensive experiments show that the proposed method outperforms the other state-of-the-art (SoTA) approaches in terms of depth completion and 3D reconstruction.

Novel Phenomenon of Scintillation Performances with the Component Variation in the Mg Co-/Nondoped GAGG:Ce Crystal

Gd3Al2Ga3O12:Ce (GAGG:Ce)shows potential application in the next-generation positron emissiontomography material due to its high light yield and excellent energyresolution. The main method currently available to accelerate thescintillation decay time of GAGG:Ce is mainly through the codopingof low valence ions such as Mg2+, which partially convertsCe(3+) to Ce4+ through a charge compensation ***, there is no clear and reasonable explanation for the deteriorationof light yield by codoping with Mg2+ in GAGG:Ce. Therefore,further study of the Mg2+ codoping GAGG:Ce crystal is ofgreat importance for improving the scintillation properties of GAGG:*** this study, two sets of GAGG crystal samples containing differentCe concentrations without or with 0.5 atom % of Mg2+ ioncodoping were grown by the micropulling down method. The optimal Ceconcentration decreases after Mg2+ codoping, whereas thelight yield degenerates significantly. This novel phenomenon suggeststhat the reduction of light yield after Mg2+ codoping isnot only due to the reduction of the luminescence center but alsothe formation of {Ce3+-Mg2+} and {Ce4+-Mg2+} associates affects the luminescenceemission. This work can provide a novel and significant view for high-performancecodoped GAGG:Ce component design and performance modification. Two sets of GAGG crystal samples containingdifferent Ceconcentrations without or with 0.5 atom % of Mg2+ ion codopingwere grown by the micropulling down method. The optimal Ce concentrationdecreases after Mg2+ codoping, whereas the light yielddegenerates significantly. This novel phenomenon can provide a noveland significant view for high-performance codoped GAGG:Ce componentdesign and performance modification.

Electrocatalytic water splitting is the most directly available route to generate renewable and sustainable ***,we report the design of a composite material in which arrays of square pillar-like NiMoO4nanorods coated with N,P-doped carbon layers are uniformly contained in numerous nested nanoparticle *** catalysts have superior catalytic activity,requiring only 59 mV and 187 mV for HER and OER to attain a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2),*** assembled two-electrode electrolytic cell required a voltage of 1.48 V to reach 10 mA/cm^(2),along with excellent long-term *** calculations reveal that electrons aggregate and redistribute at the heterogeneous interface,with the d-band centers of the Ni and Fe atoms being positively shifted compared to the Fermi level,effectively optimizing the adsorption of intermediates and reducing the Gibbs free energy,thus accelerating the catalytic ***,an integrated solar-driven water-splitting system demonstrated a high and stable solar-to-hydrogen efficiency of 18.20%.This work provides new possibilities for developing non-precious metal-based bifunctional electrocatalysts for large-scale water splitting applications.

Mg(II)-Doped Perovskite-like Cs3Cu2I5 Single Crystals with High Quantum Yield for Efficient X-ray Detection

Cs3Cu2I5 halide perovskites doped with luminescence activators have unique optical and electronic properties;however, they tend to combine with slow scintillation decay, which leads to ghosting or blurriness during X-ray imaging. In this study, we produced magnesium (Mg2+)-doped Cs3Cu2I5 single crystals (SCs) with blue emission at 440 nm, and the photoluminescence quantum yields ranged from 72.4 to 81.7%. Moreover, enhanced radioluminescence (RL) intensity and light output were achieved without deteriorating scintillation decay compared to those of pure Cs3Cu2I5 SCs. Mg doping can strengthen electron-phonon coupling, and the emission (2.15 eV) at a low temperature (80-290 K) showed the presence of additional carrier capture channels of Mg-related defect levels in the band gap, which can help reduce the probability of nonradiative recombination. Therefore, flexible X-ray scintillator films with excellent hydrophobicity were fabricated using Mg2+-doped Cs3Cu2I5 SC powders, and their spatial resolution (2.5 Lp/mm) met the resolution requirements of commercial spiral computed tomography. This study found an effective strategy for enhancing the self-trapped exciton emission of metal copper-based halide scintillators and highlighted their applicability in low-dose flexible X-ray detection and imaging.

Interface engineering of Fe2P@CoMnP4 heterostructured nanoarrays for efficient and stable overall water splitting

Electrocatalytic water splitting to generate high-quality hydrogen is an attractive renewable energy storage technology;however, it is still far from becoming a real-world application. In this study, we developed an effective and stable nickel foam-supported Fe2P@CoMnP4 heterostructure electrocatalyst for overall water splitting. As expected, the as-obtained Fe2P@CoMnP4/NF electrocatalyst exhibits superb bifunctional catalytic activity and only requires extremely low overpotentials of 53 and 249 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm-2 for the hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions, respectively. Moreover, a two-electrode electrolyzer assembled using Fe2P@CoMnP4/NF as electrodes operates at the low cell voltage of 1.54 Vat 10 mA cm-2, showing excellent long-term stability for 140 h. Theoretical calculations indicate that the surface electronic structure is effectively adjusted by the generated heterointerfaces between the Fe2P and CoMnP4 in a two-phase matrix, resulting in a Gibbs free energy of hydrogen adsorption close to zero and high intrinsic activity. This innovative strategy is a valuable route for producing low-cost high-performance bifunctional electrocatalysts for water splitting.(c) 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

In recent years, object detection, as an important branch of computer vision, has made great progress and received attention from various fields. However, for remote sensing images with small size, arbitrary orientation and dense distribution characteristics, there are still big challenges. In this paper, we propose a multi-classification detection network for small and dense remote sensing small targets. A coarse-grained target cluster anchor frame is designed to delineate the range of target regions on remote sensing images, which effectively reduces the influence of the large-scale background on the detection network for the subsequent detection network. Meanwhile, according to the concept of multi-scale detection in SSD network, a dense convolution is applied to the multi-scale feature map after the backbone network to improve the features of small targets. Finally, the rotating anchor frame is used as the precise location of this detector, and the Focal LOSS function is used to mitigate the gradient disappearance problem in the regression process. Different panels in this model are extensively experimented on the remote sensing dataset DOTA and NWPU VHR-10 to get more excellent detection results. © 2022 SPIE.
