Employing supercritical n-butanol to remove the EVA film for the delamination of photovoltaic laminated module

The rapid advancement of the photovoltaic (PV) industry has elevated the recycling and reuse of decommissioned PV modules to critical challenges, essential for tackling environmental concerns and achieving resource reutilization. To facilitate the efficient layering of PV modules and recovery of valuable materials, this study proposes a PV module degradation and recycling process utilizing supercritical n-butanol. A systematic evaluation was conducted to assess the effects of various factors on the dissolution ratio of PV modules, with an appropriate range of process parameters selected for optimization. A second-order regression model was developed to predict the dissolution ratio of the EVA film. Comparison of actual dissolution ratio with model predictions confirmed the high accuracy of the fitted model. Finally, characterization and elemental analysis of cells recovered from the supercritical process demonstrated the effectiveness of this recycling method, achieving more thorough degradation on the cell surfaces.

Study on the temperature uniformity of workpieces inside an annealing furnace

A numerical analysis model of the transient temperature field was established to address the issue of temperature field measurement in a silicon carbide annealing furnace. Numerical simulations of the vacuum annealing process yielded temperature distributions at 550 degrees C, 1200 degrees C, and 1700 degrees C. Real-time temperature measurements using internal thermocouples were conducted at two points within the furnace, showing actual temperature variations. The comparison between simulated and measured data revealed that the maximum error during the holding stage was within 3 %. Based on this, an analysis of the temperature distribution inside the silicon carbide vacuum annealing furnace was performed. The results indicate that increasing the holding temperature during the annealing process effectively reduces the time needed for the workpieces to stabilize at a uniform temperature and improves temperature uniformity by the end of the process. Additionally, by the end of the annealing process, the highest temperatures of the workpieces are concentrated primarily in the middle pieces. The temperature difference among workpieces near the center is minimal, remaining within 2 degrees C. By the end of the holding phase, 43.64 % of the workpieces in the furnace meet the process requirements. This study offers valuable insights for the structural design and temperature control of silicon carbide vacuum annealing furnaces.

Occurrence, transfer rule, and dietary risk assessment of aflatoxins in medicinal and edible seeds

The last three decades have seen a rise in the use of herbal remedies and supplements, with more than 80% of the world's population relying on them for primary care. However, aflatoxin contamination in herbal remedies may constitute a risk to human health. In this study, a simple and robust method for the simultaneous detection of aflatoxins in four types of medicinal and edible seeds was developed by using UFLC-MS/MS combined with QuECHERS pretreatment. Meanwhile, the transfer rule of the aflatoxins in medicinal and edible seeds during the decoction process was explored, followed by dietary risk assessment based on Monte Carlo simulation. Results showed that aflatoxin contamination was found in 80.6% of the samples (62/77), with the contamination levels of 0.04-258.72 mu g/kg. Notably, high levels of aflatoxins were found in Ziziphi Spinosae Semen and Platycladi Semen, while low aflatoxin transfer rates (1.13%-11.86%) were observed during the decoction process. The estimated daily intake (EDI) of AFB1 could reach 15.314 and 0.333 ng/kg bw/day by ingesting aflatoxinsusceptible Ziziphi Spinosae Semen and Platycladi Semen, respectively. The population cancer risks ranged from 3.34 x 10- 8 to 2.86 x 10-4 hepatocellular carcinoma cases per 105 persons per year. The probabilistic risk assessment indicated a short-term and long-term health concern of intaking these two medicinal and edible seeds contaminated by aflatoxins. This study revealed the occurrence and transfer pattern of aflatoxins in the medicinal and edible seeds and evaluated the risks of their dietary exposure, providing a basis for their safe use.

Introduction: Our study aimed to assess parents' perceptions of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and their attitudes towards the RSV vaccine in China. Method: The cross-section study was performed between August 21 and November 15, 2023, in Jiangsu province, eastern China. We collected socio-demographics, awareness, knowledge, perceptions of susceptibility and severity of RSV, and attitudes towards RSV vaccine using online survey questionnaire from parents of child aged <14 years old. The chi-square test and logistic regression model to explore the associated factors. Results: A total of 2135 participants were included. About 26.0 % indicated that they had never heard of RSV (556/2135) and were unaware that infants and young children are at a high risk of contracting RSV (557/2135). The proportion of parents with a child under 1 year of age who were unaware of RSV was notably higher than that of parents with children in other age groups. 42.9 % of parents (916/2135) showed low level of perceived susceptibility of contacting RSV infection for their child. 70.6 % of parents (1508/2135) expressed their willingness to vaccinate their child against RSV. The most common reason for refusing the RSV vaccine was "Concern about vaccine's safety or side effects." 60.8 % of participants (1299/2135) considered a price of the RSV vaccine below 200 CNY (28 USD) as acceptable. Conclusion: The parents, particularly those with younger children, exhibited limited awareness and knowledge regarding RSV infection. Our study also showed the potential role of vaccine price as a barrier to the future use of RSV vaccine in China.

A synergistic water-saving strategy combining stage-specific irrigation and application of exogenous thiamine enhances drought resistance of Xinjiang cotton

Background and aimsXinjiang is the largest cotton planting area in China. However, the perennial water shortage in Xinjiang restricts the development of the cotton industry, making drought one of the important limiting factors. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of water-saving scheme and thiamine (Thi) application on alleviating the adverse effects of drought stress on the growth and development of *** this study, five Xinjiang-released cotton varieties (Jinken1775, Jinken1565, Huamian702, Zhongmian979, and Jinfeng2) were selected as the research object, and Xinluzao8 served as the drought-sensitive control. Comprehensive drought resistance index (D) of the drought resistance coefficient (DRC) of four yield and four quality traits were used to evaluate the drought resistant ability of the six cotton varieties under different water conditions and Thi spraying *** stage-specific irrigation strategy (60% during vegetative vs. 90% during the flowering and boll stage) concurrently maintained higher drought resistance across cultivars, with Jinken1565 exhibited the highest drought resistance. This scheme reduced irrigation by 26% while sustaining fiber quality. Exogenous 50 mM Thi further enhanced drought tolerance, reducing transpiration rate by 33% and blade damage by 55%. These results demonstrate that stage-specific water management optimizes drought adaptation in cotton cultivation under drought *** study suggests that a 26% water-saving scheme was proposed for most drought-resistant varieties planted in Xinjiang, and an appropriate scheme to achieve stable yield by Thi application during the early drought condition was proposed for varieties with low drought resistant ability.

Plant height (PH) is a key agronomic trait influencing plant architecture. Suitable PH values for cotton are important for lodging resistance, high planting density, and mechanized harvesting, making it crucial to elucidate the mechanisms of the genetic regulation of PH. However, traditional field PH phenotyping largely relies on manual measurements, limiting its large-scale application. In this study, a high-throughput phenotyping platform based on UAV-mounted RGB and light detection and ranging (LiDAR) was developed to efficiently and accurately obtain time series PHs of 419 cotton accessions in the field. Different strategies were used to extract PH values from two sets of sensor data, and the extracted values were used to train using linear regression and machine learning methods to obtain PH predictions. These predictions were consistent with manual measurements of the PH for the LiDAR (R2 1/4 0.934) and RGB (R2 1/4 0.914) data. The predicted PH values were used for GWAS analysis, and 34 PH-related genes, two of which have been demonstrated to regulate PH in cotton, namely, GhPH1 and GhUBP15, were identified. We further identified significant differences in the expression of a new gene named GhPH_UAV1 in the stems of the G. hirsutum cultivar ZM24 harvested on the 15th, 35th, and 70th days after sowing compared with those from a dwarf mutant (pag1), which presented shortened stem and internode phenotypes. The overexpression of GhPH_UAV1 significantly promoted cotton stem development, whereas its knockout by CRISPR-Cas9 dramatically inhibited stem growth, suggesting that GhPH_UAV1 plays a positive regulatory role in cotton PH. 目的分析2015—2023年江苏省无锡市风疹的流行特征,为防控风疹提供依据。方法通过中国麻疹监测信息报告管理系统收集风疹监测病例和实验室检测资料,采用描述性分析风疹确诊病例的时间、地区和人群分布特征。结果2015—2023年无锡市报告风疹监测病例2167例,其中风疹确诊病例154例,报告发病率为0.25/10万,均为实验室确诊病例,实验室检测阳性率为7.11%。临床症状以出疹和发热为主,分别占96.75%和86.36%。2015年和2019年为风疹报告发病高峰,其他年份散发;风疹发病有明显的季节性,2—5月为流行月。锡山区和惠山区报告发病率较高,分别为0.44/10万和0.42/10万。男性风疹确诊病例101例,女性53例,男女比为1.91∶1;男性报告发病率为0.32/10万,高于女性的0.18/10万(P<0.05)。年龄主要集中在19~<46岁,112例占72.73%。职业为工人43例,占27.92%;家务及待业人员27例,占17.53%。风疹确诊病例含风疹成分疫苗免疫率为12.99%,低于排除麻疹风疹病例的36.20%(P<0.05);≥19岁人群免疫史以不详为主。结论2015—2023年无锡市风疹报告发病率维持在较低水平,冬春季高发,锡山区和惠山区为高发地区,19~<46岁、男性和工人是重点防控人群。

Effect of degree correlation on exact controllability of multiplex networks

It has been proved that the degree correlation can affect the structural controllability of directed networks. Here, we explore the effect of interconnections' correlation on the exact controllability of multiplex networks. We find that the minimal number of driver nodes decreases with correlation for lower density of interconnections. However, the controllability of networks with higher density of interconnections shows the contrary tendency. For different interconnections' correlations, controllability of multiplex networks depicts transition with the density of interconnections. For lower interconnections density, the networks with disassortative coupling patterns are harder to control. Whereas, for higher interconnections density, the networks with assortative coupling patterns are harder to control. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Evolution of public cooperation with weighted and conditional strategies

In real systems, generous individuals who prefer to contribute can play more important roles on the public than selfish individuals. Inspired by this, a spatial public goods game with weighted and conditional strategies is proposed in this paper. In our model, a player's contribution behavior is mainly determined by the less cautious neighbors rather than those more cautious ones. The weight effect is adjusted by a non-negative parameter a. Our results show that the number of strategies increases with the weight parameter a for the low multiplication factor r. On the contrary, for the high multiplication factor r, the less cautious cooperators are more likely to appear in the system. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Identifying concepts from medical images via transfer learning and image retrieval

Automatically identifying semantic concepts from medical images provides multimodal insights for clinical research. To study the effectiveness of concept detection on large scale medical images, we reconstructed over 230,000 medical image-concepts pairs collected from the ImageCLEFcaption 2018 evaluation task. A transfer learning-based multi-label classification model was used to predict multiple high-frequency concepts for medical images. Semantically relevant concepts of visually similar medical images were identified by the image retrieval-based topic model. The results showed that the transfer learning method achieved F1 score of 0.1298, which was comparable with the state of art methods in the ImageCLEFcaption tasks. The image retrieval-based method contributed to the recall performance but reduced the overall F1 score, since the retrieval results of the search engine introduced irrelevant concepts. Although our proposed method achieved second-best performance in the concept detection subtask of ImageCLEFcaption 2018, there will be plenty of further work to improve the concept detection with better understanding the medical images.
