The world’s first 1.3 GHz cryomodule containing eight 9-cell superconducting radio-frequency (rf) cavities treated by medium-temperature furnace baking (mid-T bake) was developed at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The 9-cell cavities in the cryomodule achieved an unprecedented high average intrinsic quality factor (Q0) of 3.8×1010 at 16 MV/m and 3.6×1010 at 21 MV/m in the horizontal test. The cryomodule can operate stably up to a total continuous wave rf voltage greater than 193 MV, with an average cavity usable accelerating gradient of more than 23 MV/m. The results significantly exceed the specifications of Circular Electron Positron Collider and Dalian advanced light source and the other high repetition rate free electron laser facilities [Linac Coherent Light Source II (LCLS-II), LCLS-II-high energy, Shanghai High Repetition Rate X-ray FEL and Extreme Light Facility, Shenzhen Superconducting Soft X-Ray Free Electron Laser, etc.]. There is evidence that the mid-T bake cavity may not require fast cooldown or long processing time in the cryomodule. This paper reviews the cryomodule performance and discusses some important issues in cryomodule assembly and testing.

Rational construction of biosensor to determine reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated from living cells is one of the great challenges in physiological and pathological fields. herein, for the first time, a novel Co nanoparticles (CoNPs) embedded walnut-like N-doped porous carbon microsphere (Co@NCS) can be synthesized using dual imprinting strategy by pyrolysis and acid leaching. The distinct morphology and chemical characteristic of melamine cyanurate (MC) aggregates can be imprinted in the carbon source derived from glucose during the pyrolysis process. According to our research, with synergistic effect of CoHPs and NCS, the Co@NCS shows an excellent electrochemical activity toward the reduction of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The Co@NCS modified electrode exhibits a wider linear detection response with the range from 0.5 mu M to 7500 mu M and a low detection limit of 88 nM (S/N = 3). Moreover, with desirable selectivity, decent reproducibility and satisfied anti-interference performance, the fabricated biosensor can be applied to determine H2O2 in human serum samples and that released from living cell, indicating the potential applications in the fields of pathological and physiological sensing. By employing six groups of bulk diffusion couples together with electron probe microanalysis technique, the composition dependence of ternary interdiffusion coefficients in Co-rich fcc Co-Mo-W alloys at 1373 K was determined via the Whittle and Green method. The experimental interdiffusion coefficients were critically assessed to obtain the atomic mobilities of Co, Mo and Win fcc Co-Mo-W alloys by using the DICTRA (Diffusion-Controlled TRAnsformations) software package. Comprehensive comparisons between the calculated and experimental data show that a good agreement is obtained for diffusivities in binary Co-Mo and ternary Co-Mo-W systems. In addition, a further verification of the obtained atomic mobilities was carried out through comparing the model-predicted concentration profiles/diffusion paths of several diffusion couples with the corresponding experimental data. The results indicate that the atomic mobilities can reproduce the experiment data reasonably well. This work contributes to the establishment of a Co-based kinetic database for computational design of superalloys. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Acanthopanacis Cortex (AC) is a Chinese herbal medicine (Wu-Jia-Pi in PinYin) which is recognized with therapeutic effect of "strengthening bone and sinew", yet its regulating biological network is still obscure. In this study, started from AC's chemical compounds, their direct target proteins were filtered out. Then these targeted proteins were annotated with biological processes under the framework of Gene Ontology (GO) terms' hierarchical networks which were overrepresented and enriched with them with statistic significant p-value set to 0.05. In the biological process hierarchy networks, ossification formed a big one with bone formation associated biological processes. Further protein-protein interaction analysis with these targeted proteins and bone expressed ones formed a clear and concise protein-regulation network for ossification which should be responsible for the therapeutic effect of "strengthening bone and sinew". This study proposed a new approach of analyzing biological functions of a specified Chinese herbal medicine targeting certain therapeutic effect.
