The development of highly active carbon material catalysts in catalytic wet air oxidation(CWAO)has attracted a great deal of attention. In this study different carbon material catalysts(multi-walled carbon nanotubes,carbon fibers and graphite) were developed to enhance the CWAO of phenol in aqueous solution. The functionalized carbon materials exhibited excellent catalytic activity in the CWAO of phenol. After 60 min reaction,the removal of phenol was nearly100% over the functionalized multi-walled carbon,while it was only 14% over the purified multi-walled carbon under the same reaction conditions. Carboxylic acid groups introduced on the surface of the functionalized carbon materials play an important role in the catalytic activity in CWAO. They can promote the production of free radicals,which act as strong oxidants in CWAO. Based on the analysis of the intermediates produced in the CWAO reactions,a new reaction pathway for the CWAO of phenol was proposed in this study. There are some differences between the proposed reaction pathway and that reported in the literature. First,maleic acid is transformed directly into malonic acid. Second,acetic acid is oxidized into an unknown intermediate,which is then oxidized into CO2 and H2O. Finally,formic acid and oxalic acid can mutually interconvert when conditions are favorable.

Sewage sludge is the promising raw material for biosorbent preparation. In this work, we evaluated theheavy metals adsorption characteristics of alkali treated sewage sludge(ATSS) by equilibrium studies. The adsorption isotherms were fitted with Langmuir and Freundlich *** with untreated sewage sludge, the total adsorption capacity(q) of ATSS(prepared with 0.125 mol/L Na OH) for Cd, Pb, Ni, increased by 0.51, 0.70 and 0.32 mmol/g, *** the Na OH concentration for ATSS preparation increased from 0.125 mol/L to 0.25 mol/L,the q m of ATSS for Pb decreased from 1.05 mmol/g to 0.84 mmol/g. However, when the Na OH concentration increased from 0.25 mol/L to 7.5 mol/L, it showed increasing trend. According to the IR spectra data, the adsorption effect of biosorbent for heavy metals was mainly due to the complexation of ‐N‐H groups and ‐COOH groups.

Combined with the modified damage imaging algorithm based on Reconstruction Algorithm for the Probabilistic Inspection of Damage (RAPID), a baseline-free detection method of the Lamb waves based on time reversal method is developed to detect the delamination in the composite plate. Through the analysis of the focus position of time reversal signal, a new calculation method of Damage Index (DI) values is proposed. The modified damage imaging algorithm based on RAPID is integrated with two image fusion methods: full summation method and full multiplication method. According to the analysis of limitations of the modified damage imaging algorithm, the transducer array is adopted, and the problem of the uneven probability distribution caused by the uneven density of sensing network is discussed. Modified methods are proposed to eliminate the influence of the uneven probability distribution and improve the accuracy and reliability of the detection results. The parameter significantly affects the effective detection range of each sensing path in the modified damage imaging algorithm. The value of parameter was experimentally determined and reasonably applied to detect the delamination. Based on the calculation of the DI of individual sensing path and the imaging results of delamination, the identification and localization of delamination were experimentally achieved. The imaging results demonstrated the problem of the uneven probability distribution and the validity of modified methods. Copyright (c) 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Electron Multiplying Charge Coupled Device(EMCCD) is a kind of high sensitive imaging device, widely used in shimmer detection field. The paper proposed a design of image processing system for CCD201, an EMCCD with high frequency and high sensitivity of E2 V Corporation. We selected the Xilinx product ZYNQ-7000 series, based on ARM+FPGA architecture, as the processor. According to the amount of image data and the complexity of image processing, the specific model was determined as ZYNQ-7030. We designed a set of memory system out of chip and communication interface for the processor. To improve power conversion efficiency and minimize the system, a 4-channel DCDC micro-module LTM4644 was selected. LTM4644 has lower output voltage ripple than common DCDC part and can meet the power noise request of the system.
