ObjectivesOsteoporotic vertebral fractures (OVFs) are a critical public health concern requiring urgent attention, and severe OVFs impose substantial health and economic burdens on patients and society. Analysis of the risk factors for severe OVF is imperative to actively prevent the occurrence of this degenerative disorder. This study aimed to investigate the risk factors associated with the severity of OVF, with a specific focus on changes in the paraspinal *** total of 281 patients with a first-time single-level acute OVF between January 2016 and January 2023 were enrolled in the study. Clinical and radiological data were collected and analyzed. The cross-sectional area (CSA) and degree of fatty infiltration (FI) of the paraspinal muscles, including the multifidus muscles (MFMs), erector spinae muscles (ESMs), and psoas major muscles (PSMs), were measured by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the L4/5 intervertebral discs. According to the classification system of osteoporotic fractures (OF classification) and recommended treatment plan, OVFs were divided into a low-grade OF group and a high-grade OF group. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyse s were performed to identify risk factors associated with the severity of ***-eight patients were included in the low-grade OF group, and 183 patients were included in the high-grade OF group. To construct a nomogram based on clinical factors and paraspinal muscle features to predict vertebral fractures occurring after acute osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF). We retrospectively enrolled 307 patients with acute OVCF between January 2013 and August 2022, and performed magnetic resonance imaging of the L3/4 and L4/5 intervertebral discs (IVDs) to estimate the cross-sectional area (CSA) and degree of fatty infiltration (FI) of the paraspinal muscles. We also collected clinical and radiographic data. We used univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazards models to identify factors that should be included in the predictive nomogram. Post-OVCF vertebral fracture occurred within 3, 12, and 24 months in 33, 69, and 98 out of the 307 patients (10.8%, 22.5%, and 31.9%, respectively). Multivariate analysis revealed that this event was associated with percutaneous vertebroplasty treatment, higher FI at the L3/4 IVD levels of the psoas muscle, and lower relative CSA of functional muscle at the L4/5 IVD levels of the multifidus muscle. Area under the curve values for subsequent vertebral fracture at 3, 12, and 24 months were 0.711, 0.724, and 0.737, respectively, indicating remarkable accuracy of the nomogram. We developed a model for predicting post-OVCF vertebral fracture from diagnostic information about prescribed treatment, FI at the L3/4 IVD levels of the psoas muscle, and relative CSA of functional muscle at the L4/5 IVD levels of the multifidus muscle. This model could facilitate personalized predictions and preventive strategies.

Objectives This study aimed to examine childhood vaccination delay, explore the association between vaccination delay and parental vaccine hesitancy, and assess childhood vaccination delays during the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 pandemic in China. Methods This cross-sectional survey was conducted in Wuxi City. Participants were recruited from local vaccination clinics. Questionnaires were used to collect information about socio-demographics, vaccine hesitancy, and immunization clinic evaluations. Vaccination records were obtained from the Jiangsu Information Management System of Vaccination Cases. Results Overall, 2728 participants were included. The coverage for seven category A vaccines (Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI)) was more than 95% at 24 months. The proportion of children vaccinated in a timely manner was the highest for the first dose of the hepatitis B vaccine (91.6%) and the lowest for the Bacillus-Calmette-Guerin vaccine (44.6%). More than 50% of the planned vaccinations were delayed in February and March 2020. The Vaccine Hesitancy Scale scores were not associated with vaccination delay (P = 0.842). Children's vaccination delays were negatively associated with parents who reported convenient access to clinics and satisfaction with immunization services (P = 0.020, P = 0.045). Conclusions EPI is highly successful in China. Despite vaccination delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, coverage was recovered after lockdown restrictions were eased.

Ti-6Al-4V profiles prepared by hot extrusion are usually accompanied by bending and twisting. The hot twist-stretch straightening is an effective strategy such that the bending deflection and twisting angle can be simultaneously decreased by a single straightening process. In addition, utilizing stress relaxation effect, the residual stress and springback can be greatly reduced by holding the straightening temperature and strain constant for a period after twist-stretch straightening. In this study, the hot deformation behaviors of the Ti-6Al-4V profile were revealed by experiments. The tensile model was obtained by uniaxial tensile tests within ranges of temperatures (500-700 degrees C) and strain rates (5 x 10(-5)-1 x 10(-3) s(-1)). The creep constitutive model was acquired with stress relaxation experiments in ranges of temperatures (500-700 degrees C) and pre-strain of 1.5%. Then, the coupled thermo-mechanical model of hot twist-stretch straightening was established. Based on orthogonal experiment strategy, the effects of straightening temperature, stretch strain, and holding time on the bending deflection and torsion angle of profile were investigated systematically and the process was optimized. The straightening accuracy is significantly affected by straightening temperature and holding time. By using optimized process parameters in practical straightening experiments, the deflection/length and angle/length after straightening does not exceed 2 parts per thousand and 2.5 parts per thousand degrees/mm, respectively, which is basically consistent with the numerical simulation result.
