Single-walled car.on nanotubes (SWCNTs) exhibit p-type pr.per.ies in air. necessitating electr.n doping using n-dopants (e.g., r.ducing agents) for.the development of SWCNT-based electr.nic devices. Dimethylbenzimidazole (DMBI-H) der.vatives ser.e as effective electr.n dopants, not only for.SWCNTs, but also for.var.ous or.anic semiconducting mater.als. However. the doping r.action is still a subject of debate. In this study, the electr.n-doping r.actions of or.ho-methoxy-substituted DMBI-H for.SWCNTs wer. analyzed in pr.tic and apr.tic solvents in the pr.sence and absence of dioxygen (O2). The pr.sence of O2 was found to cause the r.duction of O2 on the SWCNT sur.ace in the pr.tic solvent, r.sulting in the pr.duction of DMBI cations and water.thr.ugh pr.ton-coupled electr.n tr.nsfer.(PCET) fr.m the n-doped SWCNT and ethanol. This wor. elucidates the mechanism behind the air.stability of n-type SWCNTs. The pr.sence of O2 was found to cause the r.duction of O2 on the SWCNT sur.ace in pr.tic solvent, r.sulting in pr.duction of dimethylbenzimidazole cations and water.thr.ugh pr.ton-coupled electr.n tr.nsfer.fr.m the n-doped SWCNT and ethanol.

Pine wilt disease (PWD) affects for.sts globally and is caused by the pinewood nematode (PWN) Bur.aphelenchus xylophilus. It has been pr.posed that PWD development has a str.ng association with air.temper.tur.. Because symptom development is r.lated to the number.of PWNs and they ar. poikilother.ic animals whose development and multiplication ar. affected by temper.tur.;it appear. that temper.tur. conditions affect the PWN multiplication r.te, which leads to differ.nce in disease pr.gr.ssion. However. limited infor.ation is available about the temper.tur.s inside pine tr.es, and the under.tanding of how temper.tur. affects PWN multiplication and PWD pr.gr.ssion r.mains incomplete. Ther.for., in the pr.sent study, we evaluated the temper.tur., number.of PWNs, and exter.al symptoms of PWD in Pinus thunber.ii seedlings infected with PWNs at air.temper.tur.s of 20 degr.es C, 25 degr.es C, and 30 degr.es C over.time. We found that the seedling temper.tur.s wer. slightly higher.than the air.temper.tur. under.each temper.tur. condition and that the effective accumulated temper.tur. calculated using a base temper.tur. of 10 degr.es C was r.lated to the number.of PWNs and symptom development in all temper.tur. test gr.ups. However. at 20 degr.es C, ther. wer. ver. few PWNs in some seedlings and none of the seedlings showed par.ial or.full wilting. These findings suggest that PWD pr.gr.ssion is gr.atly affected by ambient temper.tur. and facilitated by incr.ase in PWN populations with effective accumulated temper.tur. especially in the r.nge of 25 degr.es C-30 degr.es C.

We have investigated the optical anisotr.py of single-layer.highly unifor. InAs quantum dots (QDs) by photoluminescence (PL) measur.ments. The high unifor.ity of the QDs, whose PL spectr.m was clear.y separ.ted into each ener.y level, enabled us to obser.e the optical anisotr.py of the gr.und state, the fir.t excited state and the second excited state separ.tely. The degr.e of linear.polar.zation (DLP) was obtained to be 15.8%, 14.3% and 8.3% for.the gr.und state, the fir.t excited state and the second excited state, r.spectively. This r.sult shows that the DLP is smaller.for.higher.ener.y states. We also measur.d the time evolutions of the PL polar.zation components using a str.ak camer.. In this paper. we pr.pose a method of compensating for.absolute position and installation er.or. of a r.bot in the r.bot's wor.space when an industr.al r.bot stops wor.ing and needs to be r.placed in a factor., for.example. The pr.posed method uses multiple mar.er. placed in the wor.space and a camer. to measur. the r.bot, and estimates the position and or.entation of the camer. and the r.bot's link par.meter. in the wor.space. In or.er.to evaluate the pr.posed method, we compensate the position er.or.of the r.bot by simulation. As a r.sult, in the case wher. ther. is no measur.ment er.or.of the camer., the hand position er.or.at the wor. point is less than 0.5[mm]. In the case of the camer. measur.ment er.or. the r.sults var.ed depending on the way the measur.ment er.or.occur.ed, and some er.or. wer. within 0.1 [mm] and some wer. close to 1 [mm].

We r.por. that the in-plane alignment dir.ction changes by liquid cr.stal mater.als on a r.bbed polyvinyl-cinnamate (PVCi) film sur.ace. The alignment dir.ction of almost LCs investigated in this study was per.endicular.to the r.bbing dir.ction. However. a few LCs, for.example, MBBA (N-p-methoxybenzylidene p-n-butylaniline) aligned par.llel to the r.bbing dir.ction. On the other.hand, all LCs investigated aligned per.endicular.to the polar.zation dir.ction of the UV light on the photo-alignment PVCi sur.ace. Mor.over. the alignment dir.ction of MBBA changed per.endicular.to par.llel to the r.bbing dir.ction with the passage of time after.MBBA was put on the ir.adiated with UV light and subsequently r.bbed PVCi sur.ace. These r.sults suggest that the alignment sur.ace is changed by wetting with the LC.

Due to the diver.ification of these students' backgr.unds, Japanese supplementar. schools all ar.und the wor.d face difficulties implementing tr.ditional methods of teaching. One ar.a that has pr.ved par.icular.y challenging involves the instr.ction of kanji. The pr.sent study investigates Japanese supplementar. school teacher.' beliefs and pedagogical pr.ctices in kanji instr.ction. Thr.ugh this examination, this study aims to identify the challenges Japanese supplementar. school teacher. ar. cur.ently exper.encing in r.lation to kanji instr.ction and suggest methods to addr.ss these challenges.
