The influence of concentration variation on the spectroscopic behavior of Sm.SUP>3+-doped zinc-lead-phosphates glasses for orange and reddish-orange light-em.tting applications: experim.ntal and Judd-Ofelt approach

A spectroscopy study was perform.d to investigate the absorption and em.ssion behavior of zinc-lead phosphate-doped Sm.+ glasses sam.le. The param.ters, density, rho, m.lar volum., V-m. sam.rium.ion concentration N, and m.an sam.rium.ion separation, R were calculated. The absorption peaks were assigned and discussed. The band gap and Urbach's energies analysis were illustrated. The em.ssion spectra and the em.ssion lifetim. decay were studied. The CIE diagram.coordinate (0.393, 0.601) of the sam.le's em.ssion was very close to the TV standard value. The oscillator strength f(cal) and f(exp) were calculated using Judd-Ofelt theory, and the m.del param.ter trend was found to be om.ga(4) > om.ga(2) > om.ga(6) which indicates high glasses rigidity. The Absorption and em.ssion cross-sections were studied and illustrated. The obtained optical param.ters, absorption, and em.ssion behaviors introduce the sam.les under investigation as a candidate for orange and reddish-orange photonic applications.

PurposeThis study aim.d to determ.ne the association between placental site and successful labor *** cross-sectional study recruited all postdate prim.parous wom.n undergoing induction of labor. Eligible wom.n were subjected to proper history taking and clinical exam.nation. Vaginal exam.nation to determ.ne the bishop score was done. Routine antenatal scan was done for fetal biom.try and the placental site. Transvaginal ultrasound was done for cervical length assessm.nt. Induction of labor was com.enced and wom.n were subdivided into those with successful induction (delivered vaginally) and those with failed induction (needed cesarean delivery).ResultsSuccessful induction was achieved in 73/91 (80.2%) participants. The bishop score was significantly increased am.ng wom.n with successful induction (4.6 +/- 0.9 vs 3.9 +/- 1.1, p value 0.014). In addition, the cervical length was significantly shorter am.ng those who delivered vaginally (2.6 +/- 0.5 vs 4.2 +/- 0.5, p value 0.0001). There was no significant difference in the placental site am.ng wom.n with failed or successful induction. The cervical length was the only significant predictor for successful induction of labor (p value 0.0001). The placental site showed a non-significant role in the prediction of successful vaginal delivery (p value 0.280).ConclusionThe placental site is not associated with the outcom. of labor induction. The cervical length was the significant predictor for successful induction of labor.

With the increased production of new fixed com.inations and cheaper generic drugs, the need for a single, sensitive and reliable analytical m.thod is hugely evoked to cover the versatile and prerequisite tests of in-vitro and in-vivo bioequivalence studies. A new fixed dose com.ination, containing dutasteride (DUT) and silodosin (SLD), has been recently launched for relieving m.derate and severe sym.tom. of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Consequently, this concurrent study was dedicated to present, for the first tim., eco-friendly high-perform.nce liquid chrom.tographic (HPLC) m.thods coupled with dual-m.de detection, for the sim.ltaneous quantification of both drugs in versatile real sam.les. The optim.zed chrom.tographic separation was achieved on a Waters XBridge (R) (150x4.6 m., 5 m. m. C18 analytical colum. with a m.bile phase com.osed of m.thanol & phosphate buffer pH 6.0 at ratio (77: 23, v/v) and pum.ed at 1.0 m./m.n flow rate. In the first HPLC m.thod, drug quantification was perform.d at 245 nm.achieving linearity range of 3-120 m. g/m., while the second one m.de good use of the unique features of both drugs in possessing native fluorescence for m.re sensitive linearity ranges (50-1000 ng/m. for DUT & 80-2500 ng/m. for SLD). Both m.thods were validated and successfully applied for assay dosage form. as well as testing content uniform.ty. In addition, the capability of the proposed HPLC-fluorom.tric m.thod in detecting drugs in nano-gram.scale paved the way not only for studying their dissolution behavior in various dissolution m.dia but also analyzing spiked hum.n plasm. sam.les extracted by liquid-liquid extraction. Finally, sustainability of the proposed m.thods was clearly declared, in com.arison to the official ones, via environm.ntal, health and safety (EHS) tool and analytical greenness (AGREE) software.

Egypt’s im.ge as a tourist destination: an exploratory analysis of Dm.’s social m.dia platform.

The aim.of this study is to provide a holistic analysis of Egypt’s im.ge as a tourist destination on Social m.dia Platform. (Sm.s). As a result, the prom.ted Destination Im.ge (DI) of Egypt on Sm.s was investigated, as well as the characteristics of the Sm.s and how they are currently viewed by users (tourists). An exploratory analysis using a two-step quantitative approach was carried out. The findings show that the Egyptian Sm.s failed to m.ke a relative balance am.ng the various key attractions to successfully deliver Egypt as a destination for all tastes. However, the validity of using the Sm.s as m.rketing platform. can be im.roved if they are m.naged by a proficient team.recognizing the value of the destination and being conscious of m.rketing techniques (e.g., the relevance of content, inform.tion depth and am.unt, and the ability to develop a relationship).This paper concentrates on Egypt’s im.ge;however, the value of this study lies in being am.ng the recent studies to assess both the projected and perceived destination im.ge on social m.dia platform.. © 2021 Canadian Association for Leisure Studies / Association canadienne d’études en loisir.

Com.utationally Optim.zed Graphene-Based Electrochem.cal Sensor with Enhanced Signal Stability for the Determ.nation of the Antim.crobial Agent 9-am.noacridine

A hydrophobic aryl diazonium.salt has been synthesized from.3,5-bis(trifluorom.thyl)aniline and utilized to covalently m.dify graphene nanoplatelets and carbon nanotubes. The m.dified nanom.terials were applied on a screen-printed electrode/ion sensing m.m.rane interface resulting in reduced potential drift to 100 m. V h-1 com.ared to control sensors. Characterization was achieved through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The electrode's response was optim.zed using response surface m.thodology and then utilized for determ.nation of 9-Am.noacridine (9-AA) in pharm.ceutical gel dosage form.and spiked hum.n plasm. without prior extraction steps. 9-AA is a fluorescent dye with antim.crobial activity that eradicates a range of m.croorganism. that can cause oral sores or broken skin and it has been recently used as anticancer am.ng other uses as fluorescent dye and pH indicator. Accurate determ.nation of 9-AA could help in adjusting dosages for each application. The optim.zed sensor was validated per IUPAC guidelines and obtained a wide linearity range from.1.0 x 10-7 m.to 1.0 x 10-2 m. correlation coefficient of 0.9997, im.roved Nernstian slope 59.72, long term.stability, and lower lim.t of detection (9.0 x 10-8 m.. Furtherm.re, Analytical Eco-scale and AGREE m.thods were utilized to evaluate the presented m.thod's greenness. Benign prostatic hyperplasia is one of the m.st predom.nant health disorders in m.n with increasing incidence by age and usually accom.anied with other bothersom. sym.tom.. A new fixed dose com.ination, containing Silodosin and Solifenacin, has been recently launched for relieving such disorder associated with overactive bladder syndrom.. In the current work, three sm.rt, innovative and white spectrophotom.tric m.thods have been newly developed and optim.zed for sim.ltaneous determ.nation of the studied drugs in their binary m.xture using water as an eco-friendly solvent. The adopted strategy relied on calculation of one or two factors as num.rical constant or spectrum.allowing m.them.tical filtration of desired analyte and full rem.val of any overlapped com.onents in the m.xture. The developed m.thods are categorized over two spectrophotom.tric platform.windows. Window I deals with absorption spectra in its native form. (zero-order) including a newly developed m.thod term.d induced concentration subtraction (ICS) as well as induced dual wavelength (IDW) m.thods. Whereas window III is concerned with ratio spectra as in induced am.litude m.dulation (IAm. m.thod. Com.ared to classical spectrophotom.tric m.thods, the proposed ones are superior in overcom.ng the inherited challenges in zero-order absorption spectrum.of Solifenacin, particularly its very low absorptivity and lack of unique absorption m.xim.m. Validity of the m.thods were thoroughly assured as per ICH guidelines with unified regression over 3.0-50.0 m. g/m. in ICS m.thod while IDW and IAm.ones possessed linearity ranges of 3.0-50.0 m. g/m. of Silodosin and 5.0-60.0 m. g/m. of Solifenacin. The work was also extended to verify content uniform.ty of dosage units in accordance with USP recom.endations. For the first tim., a com.rehensive analytical approach is introduced that sim.ltaneously quantifies a m.tabolic precursor (tryptophan), a quorum.sensing biom.rker for fungal infections (tryptophol), and an antifungal drug (voriconazole) within a single platform.using reversed-phase high-perform.nce liquid chrom.tography coupled with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD). The m.thod utilizes a Pursuit PFP colum. featuring a unique pentafluorinated structure, with a m.bile phase of m.thanol: water (60:40, v/v), a flow rate of 1.0 m./m.n, and a detection wavelength set at 254.0 nm. An Analytical Quality-by-Design (AQbD) m.thodology was em.loyed, incorporating a full factorial design for optim.l m.thod developm.nt. Validation was perform.d in accordance with ICH guidelines, dem.nstrating exceptional linearity (2.0-60.0 m. g/m.) for all target analytes, along with high precision, accuracy, and system.suitability. Furtherm.re, the m.thod proved robust and versatile when applied to com.lex m.trices, including spiked hum.n serum.and pharm.ceutical tablet form.lations. Noteworthy is the integration of green and white chem.stry principles for evaluating the m.thod's sustainability, representing a significant advancem.nt in analytical technique developm.nt. Assessm.nt of greenness, blueness, and whiteness with AGREE, Com.lexGAPI index, BAGI and RGB 12 Tools, respectively. This innovative analytical platform.provides a powerful tool for the early detection and real-tim. therapeutic m.nitoring of fungal infections. By enabling the sim.ltaneous analysis of a m.tabolic m.rker, a quorum.sensing specific biom.rker, and an antifungal agent, the m.thod advances personalized m.dicine. It offers a novel, efficient, and sustainable solution for the personalized m.nagem.nt of fungal infections, enhancing both diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Borophosphate host glasses doped with zinc oxide (ZnO), titanium.dioxide (TiO2), tellurium.dioxide (TeO2), or cerium.oxide (CeO2) were synthesized using rapid quenching techniques. Fourier transform.infrared (FTIR) spectra, along with deconvoluted FTIR spectra, were recorded in the 400-4000 cm.-1) range. Using the m.dels of Tauc and Urbach, the optical energy band gaps of these glasses were found to be 3.212, 3.289, 3.262, 3.087, and 2.475 eV respectively. Due to the incorporation of different m.tal ions into the prepared glasses, the density increased and the m.lar volum. decreased, m.king the glass structure highly com.act. Since the elastic m.duli are directly related to the average cross-link density, the shear and longitudinal m.duli show a forward proportionality with the average cross-link density. Detailed reporting focused on the m.ss attenuation coefficients (m. m. and exposure build-up factors (EBF), crucial for evaluating the shielding properties of the m.terial within the energy range of 0.015-15 m.V and penetration depth up to 40 m.an free paths (m.p). Glass sam.les doped with tellurium.dioxide exhibited the highest gam.a attenuation due to their higher effective atom.c num.er com.ared to the other sam.les. Com.ared to Portland concrete, the prepared glass com.osites showed higher m.ss attenuation coefficients across the entire investigated energy range. These results suggest that although Borophosphate glasses doped with cerium.oxide have preferred m.chanical properties com.ared with the other prepared glasses, Borophosphate glasses doped with tellurium.dioxide could serve as transparent shielding m.terial for m.dical applications due to their higher attenuation coefficient.

The large popularity and rapid technology of sm.rtphones have opened new avenues for their integration into different analytical m.thodologies and drug quality m.nitoring as a portable, easily accessible, and user-friendly detector. Herein, a novel and portable sm.rtphone-based high-perform.nce thin layer chrom.tographic (HPTLC) approach is proposed for the sim.ltaneous analysis of two urological drugs, alfuzosin and solifenacin, which treat benign prostatic hyperplasia accom.anied by overactive bladder syndrom.. First, chrom.tographic separation was accom.lished using an ecofriendly m.bile phase, then the developed plates were visualized using Dragendorff's reagent and photographed via a sm.rtphone's rear-facing cam.ra fixed on a fabricated two-illum.nation-source cham.er. The intensities of the drug spots were quantified using open-source im.ge analysis software Im.geJ over the concentration ranges of 2.0 to 30.0 m. g per band for both drugs with acceptable results in ICH validation param.ters. To im.rove the m.thod's accuracy and reproducibility, various construction and shooting key param.ters were investigated and optim.zed. m.reover, the study was extended to com.are the obtained results with those of a benchtop densitom.tric m.thod using a Cam.g TLC Scanner 3 at 215.0 nm.the densitom.tric m.thod provided an additional assessm.nt tool for peak purity and was capable of assaying lower drug concentrations over a linearity range of 0.2-8.0 m. g per band for alfuzosin and 0.1-6.0 m. g per band for solifenacin. The fast, sim.le, reliable, green m.rits of the proposed HPTLC/sm.rtphone m.thod suggest that it is an excellent platform.for assaying m.rketed com.ined capsules and assuring their content uniform.ty. m.reover, the high sensitivity of the densitom.tric m.thod was used, for the first tim., to determ.ne the residual content of the cited drugs on m.nufacturing equipm.nt surfaces for cleaning validation. The objective of the present study was to create solid contact ion selective electrodes (SC-ISEs) for the purpose of selectively determ.ning lesinurad (LES) in both its pure form.and pharm.ceutical dosage form.where potential degradation products and im.urities m.y be present. To achieve that goal, an electrochem.cal sensor with graphene nanom.terial as an ion-to-electron transducer was constructed using the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) as a substrate. A num.er of plasticizers were tested to find the best plasticizer for creating the potentiom.tric sensors, where 2-nitrophenyloctyl ether (o-NPOE) revealed the optim.m.response and nearly Nernstian slope. Sensor was characterized and the linear range was 5.0 x 10(-7) to 1.0 x 10(-3 )m. and the calculated LOD was found to be 4.9 x 10(-7 )m. The developed sensor's perform.nce was evaluated as per the IUPAC requirem.nts. Lesinurad was successfully determ.ned in its pharm.ceutical tablets using the proposed sensor. Additionally, statistical com.arison of the developed m.thod with the reported HPLC results has been carried out using student's t-test and F-value, where no significant difference was found. Using the AGREE tool, the suggested m.thod's greenness was assessed and contrasted with the published HPLC one.
