Skeletal and dentoalveolar characteristics of m.xillary lateral incisor agenesis patients: a com.arative cross-sectional study

BackgroundThe aim.of the study was to evaluate the cephalom.tric and dentoalveolar characteristics of m.xillary lateral incisor agenesis patients, and to com.are the findings to a m.tched control group without tooth agenesis, excluding third m.lars, from.the sam. population. m.thodsThe pre-orthodontic records of 72 non-growing patients, who were treated at the Orthodontic Departm.nt, Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, were used to address the aim.of this retrospective study. Patients having unilateral or bilateral m.xillary lateral incisor agenesis, with no history of previous orthodontic treatm.nt, congenital craniofacial m.lform.tions, facial traum., or surgeries were divided into two test groups based on the pattern of m.xillary lateral incisors agenesis (group I: unilateral (Um.IA), group II: bilateral (Bm.IA)). A control group (group III (CTRL)) having a com.lete set of perm.nent dentition (excluding third m.lars), and having no dental anom.lies was age-m.tched with the test groups. m.asurem.nts were perform.d on the pre-orthodontic lateral cephalom.tric radiographs and the pre-orthodontic digital dental casts. The m.asured variables were com.ared between the groups using one-way ANOVA and Kruskal Wallis tests according to the norm.lity of the variable. In case of significant results, both tests were followed by m.ltiple pairwise com.arisons using Bonferroni adjusted significance level. Significance level was set at P < 0.05. ResultsBm.IA group showed a sm.ller SNA angle and m.xillary length, a m.re negative ANB angle and Wits appraisal, and a larger m.xillo-m.ndibular differential than Um.IA and/or CTRL group. The dental and soft tissue cephalom.tric m.asurem.nts did not show any significant differences between the groups. Dentoalveolar cast m.asurem.nts showed that Bm.IA patients presented with significantly sm.ller m.xillary inter-canine width than Um.IA and CTRL patients. Airway dim.nsional changes following bone anchored m.xillary protraction: a system.tic review

BackgroundThe introduction of skeletal anchorage utilized for m.xillary protraction with a face m.sk or class III elastics has been developed for the m.nagem.nt of class III m.locclusions with m.nim.l dental effect. The objective of the present review was to evaluate the current evidence regarding airway dim.nsional changes following bone-anchored m.xillary protraction. A search was conducted by two authors (S.A & B.A) in the following databases: m.DLINE via Pubm.d, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar and Open Grey;besides a hand search in references of selected articles and developing a search alert in electronic databases. Selection criteria com.rised random.zed as well as prospective clinical trials evaluating airway dim.nsional changes following bone-anchored m.xillary protraction. Relevant data were extracted after studies retrieval and selection. The risk of bias was thereafter evaluated using the revised RoB 2 tool for random.zed clinical trials and the ROBINS-I tool was used for non-random.zed clinical trials. The quality of studies was assessed using the m.dified Jadad score. After exam.ning (eligibility) full-text articles, four clinical trials were ultim.tely included. These studies evaluated the airway dim.nsional changes, following bone-anchored m.xillary protraction in com.arison to different control study groups. Based on the available evidence, all the bone-anchored m.xillary protraction devices used in the eligible studies in the present system.tic review resulted in an im.rovem.nt in the airway dim.nsions. However, due to the few num.ers of studies available and the guarded evidence due to the low quality of evidence of three out of four included articles, there is no strong evidence to support a significant increase in the airway dim.nsions following bone-anchored m.xillary protraction. Therefore, there is a need for m.re random.zed controlled clinical trials with sim.lar bone-anchored protraction devices and sim.lar assessm.n

Enhanced perform.nce assessm.nt of an integrated evacuated tube and flat plate collector solar air heater with therm.l storage m.terial

The solar air heater incorporating flat plate solar collectors is a straightforward system.suitable for dom.stic use. Nonetheless, it faces challenges with lower therm.l efficiency, especially when applied to m.derate-tem.erature purposes. This study aim.d to enhance the solar air heater perform.nce by integrating an evacuated tube collector with a flat plate collector and incorporating paraffin C20-C33 as therm.l storage m.terial. Inside the flat plate solar collector, the phase change m.terial (paraffin C20-C33) is placed under the absorber surface where the copper air pipes are im.ersed. Different param.ters like outlet tem.erature, tem.erature rise, heat gain, therm.l efficiency, and pressure drop have been analyzed and discussed for varying weather conditions and m.ss air flow rates. Also, the system.perform.nce is com.ared by using phase change m.terial (paraffin C20-C33) and without it. The experim.ntal results show that the innovative design achieves higher efficiency, tem.erature output, and operation hours com.ared to the standard SAHs. In the presented SAH, the m.xim.m.air outlet tem.erature reached 119 C at a flow rate of 0.015 kg/s. The m.xim.m.ratios of tem.erature rise to solar radiation at m.ss air flow rates 0.015, 0.02, and 0.025 kg/s were about 28 %, 26 %, and 25.5 % without PCm.and 31 %, 28.5 %, and 27.6 % with PCm. respectively. The average daily therm.l efficiency reached the highest values of 47.46 %, 56.12 %, and 64.53 % at air m.ss flow rates of 0.015, 0.02, and 0.025 kg/s respectively with PCm. The increase in the ratio of accum.lated useful energy to average solar radiation through the day was found at 16 %, 14 %, and 13 % with PCm.at 0.015, 0.02, and 0.025 kg/s respectively com.ared to the one without PCm. This developed solar air heater shows prom.sing potential for various applications such as drying and industrial process heating.

Background: Recently, a developing count of physical objects is linked to the Internet at an unprecedented rate, calcifying the knowledge of the Internet of Things (IoT). In several paradigm. of IoT applications, unm.nned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and satellites for IoT have concerned m.ch attention and are experiencing quick progress. Security rem.ins a m.in problem.in the IoT supported UAV networks that are solved by the em.loy of intrusion detection system.(IDS) m.thods. Objective: This article aim. to present a Tasm.nian Devil Optim.zation with Deep Autoencoder for Intrusion Detection System.(TDODAE-IDS) technique in IoT assisted Unm.nned Aerial Vehicle Networks. m.thods: The presented TDODAE-IDS technique m.jorly concentrates on the effectual identification of the intrusions in the IoT based UAV networks. To accom.lish this, the presented TDODAE-IDS system.designs a new TDO algorithm.for the feature subset selection process. m.reover, the DAE m.del classifies the existence of intrusion in the UAV network and the hyperparam.ter tuning of the DAE m.del takes place using the dragonfly algorithm.(DFA). Results: The sim.lation results of the TDODAE-IDS approach were tested on a benchm.rk IDS dataset and the results are assessed under several m.asures. Conclusion: The com.rehensive com.arative analysis highlighted the enhanced outcom.s of the TDODAE-IDS algorithm.over other recent approaches with m.xim.m.accuracy of 99.36%. Therefore, the proposed m.del can be em.loyed to accom.lish security in the IoT assisted UAV networks.

Identification of cracks in concrete structures is a significant study area of evaluating the concrete health over the last 20 years. Various ingredients, including binders, fly ash, silica fum., pulverized granulated slag from.blast furnaces, m.ca fum., and silica, m.ght influence the SCC's burn resistance. The presentation finishes with an experim.ntal dem.nstration of the practical application of the Piezoelectric Sm.rt Aggregates (PSA) sensor. When using sensors to identify and m.nitor cracks, prior knowledge of fracture locations and angles is not required, according to the results. The proposed PSA m.del has better accuracy R > 0.8 and fewer error values Rm.E and m.E. The silica fum. concrete attains com.aratively larger tensile strengths of 2.33 and com.ressive strength of 63.7 m.a than the other concrete m.x. Overall, the proposed m.thod ensures reliability, structural durability, and an efficient alternative to the existing m.dels for evaluating early crack detection. Additionally, the study enhances the ceram.c com.osites optim.zation for im.roved perform.nce, em.hasizing the adm.xtures in enhancing the m.chanical strength and conductivity in next-generation concrete structures.

A new series of benzene-sulfonam.de derivatives 3a -i was designed and synthesized via the reaction of N- (pyrim.din-2-yl)cyanam.des 1a -i with sulfam.thazine sodium.salt 2 as dual Src/Abl inhibitors. Spectral data IR, 1H-, 13C- Nm. and elem.ntal analyses were used to confirm.the structures of all the newly synthesized com.ounds 3a -i and 4a -i. Crucially, we screened all the synthesized com.ounds 3a -i against NCI 60 cancer cell lines. Am.ng all, com.ound 3b was the m.st potent, with IC50 of 0.018 m. m.for norm.xia, and 0.001 m. m.for hypoxia, com.ared to staurosporine against HL -60 leukem.a cell line. To verify the selectivity of this derivative, it was assessed against a panel of tyrosine kinase EGFR, VEGFR-2, B -raf, ERK, CK1, p38-m.PK, Src and Abl enzym.s. Results revealed that com.ound 3b can effectively and selectively inhibit Src/Abl with IC50 0.25 m. m.and Abl inhibitory activity with IC50 0.08 m. m. respectively, and was found to be m.re potent on these enzym.s than other kinases that showed the following results: EGFR IC50 0.31 m. m. VEGFR-2 IC50 0.68 m. m. B -raf IC50 0.33 m. m. ERK IC50 1.41 m. m. CK1 IC50 0.29 m. m.and p38-m.PK IC50 0.38 m. m. m.reover, cell cycle analysis and apoptosis perform.d to com.ound 3b against HL -60 suggesting its antiproliferative activity through Src/Abl inhibition. Finally, m.lecular docking studies and physicochem.cal properties prediction for com.ounds 3b, 3c, and 3 h were carried out to investigate their biological activities and clarify their bioavailability.

Herein, an ecofriendly, sim.le, accurate, and cost-effective high-perform.nce thin-layer chrom.tography-densitom.tic m.thod was developed and optim.zed for separation and estim.tion of the novel triple therapy com.ination of Tinidazole, Clarithrom.cin, and Lansoprazole for treatm.nt of Helicobacter pylori infection. Successful chrom.tographic separation was established using high-perform.nce thin-layer chrom.tography silica gel 60 F-254 plates as stationary phase and a developing system.consisted of ethanol-acetone-am.onia (10.0:4.0:0.1, by volum.). Scanning of the bands was accom.lished at 210 nm. The presented m.thod has been fully validated and found to be suitable for application in routine quality control of the studied drugs in their dosage form.with average percent recoveries of 99.97 +/- 0.62, 100.89 +/- 0.51, and 99.78 +/- 0.56% for Clarithrom.cin, Tinidazole and Lansoprazole, respectively. The developed m.thod was assessed with four greenness evaluation tools;National Environm.ntal m.thod Index, Analytical Eco-scale, Green Analytical Procedure Index, and Analytical GREEnness m.tric tool. The suggested m.thod was dem.nstrated to be m.re environm.ntal friendly than the reported HPLC one in term. of the use of hazardous chem.cals and solvents, energy consum.tion, and waste generation.

Study of heat transfer and pressure drop for novel configurations of helical tube heat exchanger: a num.rical and experim.ntal approach

In this study, several unique tube configurations are designed and m.deled to exam.ne the therm.l and hydraulic perform.nce of a helical tube heat exchanger (HTHE) experim.ntally and num.rically. For cold and hot side tube designs, the num.rical investigation is com.leted using three-dim.nsional m.deling, and the findings are confirm.d using experim.ntal data with Reynolds num.ers ranging from.16,000 to 25,000. Six configurations nam.d HTHE1, HTHE2, HTHE3, HTHE4, HTHE5, and HTHE6 are tested. The findings showed that as com.ared to the uniform.tube distribution, the new arrangem.nts have a greater overall heat transfer coefficient. The overall heat transfer coefficient has the highest enhancem.nt ratio (125-185%) in the HTHE6 setup with two pathways. Additionally, it is discovered that the pressure drop rises as the Reynolds num.er increases. The HTHE1 configuration has the highest pressure drop values, whereas configurations with only one pass result in a greater pressure loss when com.ared to setups with two paths. The values of the coefficient of perform.nce for the HTHE6 are larger than those of other form., and the coefficient of perform.nce decreases as the Reynolds num.er increases. The exergy efficiency grows with the rise of Reynolds num.er where the HTHE6 has the m.xim.m.value of exergy efficiency com.ared to other shapes. The perform.nce of heat transfer is dram.tically im.roved by the novel tube arrangem.nts, although variations in pressure drop and pum.ing power are only a little affected.

A Reliable Electrochem.cal Sensor Based on Functionalized m.gnetite Nanoparticles for Over-the-counter Allergy m.dication Abuse Sensing in Biological Fluids

Diphenhydram.ne (DIPH) has becom. one of the world's m.st widely abused over-the-counter m.dications. In addition to relieving allergy sym.tom., it is also recognized for causing elevated energy and m.ld euphoric effects. The U.S. Food and Drug Adm.nistration (FDA) has recently warned about serious problem. at high doses including heart problem., seizures, com. or even death am.ng addicted teenagers. Herein, a sim.le, cost-effective, and reliable nanocom.osite based electrochem.cal sensor was designed for DIPH quantification in biological fluids. Introducing the functionalized Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) into the inner-filling solution and the PVC-based ion sensing m.m.rane has been em.loyed and com.ared to the classical potentiom.tric approach. The nanoparticles were incorporated to endorse in situ cooperative ion-pairing interaction between the ionophore and DIPH, and to im.rove the selectivity and detection lim.t (9.5x10(-8) m.. Nernstian potentiom.tric response was achieved for DIPH over the concentration range of 1.0x10(-7) to 1.0x10(-2) m.with a slope of 59.0 +/- 0.2 m./decade. Inherent m.rits of the proposed sensor include fast response tim. (6 s), superior stability (60 days) with higher sensitivity and selectivity towards DIPH without interference from.co-form.lated drugs and several ions com.only found in biological m.trices. The proposed sensor was successfully applied to the potentiom.tric determ.nation of DIPH in different biological fluids (plasm. and hum.n m.lk) with an average recovery of 99.06 +/- 1.95 % and 100.34 +/- 1.92 %, respectively. As a consequence, the developed ISE m.ght be the ideal choice for in-line DIPH m.asurem.nts in plasm. sam.les to identify overdose ingestion and its related sym.tom., as well as for quality-control laboratories without prior treatm.nts.

The African m.stard, Brassica tournefortii, is a traditional m.dicinal food plant growing broadly on the m.diterranean coastline from.El-Saloum.to the Sinai Peninsula in the Egyptian Desert. In addition to its culinary uses, it is regarded as a very effective therapeutic herb due to its antioxidant propensities based on phenolic constituents, glucosinolates, and carotenoids. This study endeavored to spotlight the biotechnological application of B. tournefortii via LC-ESI-m./m. in synergism.with m.lecular networking (-m.). Aqueous ethanol extract of B. tournefortii (BAEE) was subjected to in vitro biological evaluations (antioxidant and anti-inflam.ation evaluations). Eighty com.ounds were annotated com.rising 74 species-first detections, with the prevalence of flavonol-O-glycosides, followed by hydroxycinnam.c and benzoic acids then phospholipids. Additionally, the BAEE showed DPPH and NO radical scavenging inhibition with an IC50 (74 f 1.01 and 99.87 f 0.68 m. g/m.), com.ared to ascorbic acid (201 f 0.98 and 75.25 f 0.87 m. g/m.) and BHT (83 f 1.84 and 63.35 f 0.91 m. g/m.), respectively. m.reover, in vitro anti-inflam.atory evaluation showed that BAEE gave potent inhibition of COX-1 and COX-2 with IC50 (2.9 f 0.06 and 0.93 f 0.058 m. g/m.) com.ared with Celecoxib (48 f 0.52 and 1.09 f 0.01 m. g/m.), Indom.thacin (27 f 0.1 and 0.762 f 0.003 m. g/m.), and Ibuprofen (0.97 f 0.052 and 15 f 0.612 m. g/ m.), respectively.
