This investigation delves into the dynam.c m.tabolic shifts within barley grains during the roasting process, em.loying UPLC-QqQ-m./m. analysis. The com.lex spectrum.of m.tabolites before and after roasting is revealed. The resulting data, unveils substantial transform.tions in chem.cal com.osition during roasting. A total of 62 chrom.tographic peaks spanning phenolic com.ounds, flavones, m.llard Reaction Products, am.no acids, lignans, vitam.ns, folates, and anthocyanins were annotated. Leveraging UPLC-QqQ-m./m. analysis, we scrutinized the intricate m.tabolite profile before and after roasting where the roasting process was found to trigger dynam.c changes across diverse m.tabolite classes particularly m.llard Reaction Products, produced through the m.illard reaction, with dihydro-5-m.thyl-5H-cyclopentapyrazine, m.ltol and hydroxy m.ltol em.rging as discerning m.rkers of roasting progression. Am.no acids and sugars showed degradation, while beta-glucan, a signature barley sugar, experienced notable decline. Folate derivatives witnessed pronounced reduction, aligning with the heat sensitivity of folates. Harnessing the power of m.ltivariate data analysis, the consequences of roasting m.terialize through distinct clusters in PCA and OPLS-DA plots. Noteworthy, roasting duration governs the trajectory of m.tabolic divergence, culm.nating in the identification of roasting-specific m.rkers. Epigallocatechin, procyanidin B, 10-HCO-H4 folate, and hordatine A em.rge as pivotal discrim.nators. Orthogonal Projection to Latent Structure (OPLS) analysis linked anti-inflam.atory activity with 30-m.n, 1-hour, and 1.5-hour roasted sam.les, with hordatine B in addition to som. m.llard Reaction Products being correlated with pro-inflam.atory m.rker downregulation.. Efficient, accurate, and cost-effective spectrophotom.tric scenarios via innovative m.thods have been established, validated, and confirm.d for the synchronous determ.nation and analyzing of the single-dose triple antihypertensive therapy of Atenolol (ATN), Am.loride hydrochloride (Am.) and Hydrochlorothiazide (HCT). This therapy is explicitly prohibited in various sports by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) due to unfair advantage for dishonest athletes during athletic com.etition, it has perform.nce-enhancing effect as well as it can lessen the detection of som. doping drugs. Novel intelligence spectrophotom.tric solutions based on coupling of data analysis and spectral m.nipulation including three m.thods, nam.ly, ratio conversion (RC), derivative ratio transform.tion (DDT) and advanced derivative ratio transform.tion (ADDT). Linearity ranges were 25.0-255.0 m. g/m., 2.0-23.0 m. g/m. and 2.0-24.0 m. g/m. for ATN, Am. and HCT, respectively. All suggested approaches were validated and confirm.d in com.liance with ICH guidelines, and the results were satisfactory and within approved bounds. The findings obtained using the suggested procedures and those obtained using the officially and reported m.thods were statistically com.ared, and there was no discernible difference. Evaluation of the greenness of the indicated m.thods was perform.d and com.ared with the reported HPLC m.thod via utilizing the Analytical greenness m.tric tool [AGREE] whereas it confirm.d that the applied m.thods are environm.ntally beneficial. The accom.lished results together with the easiness, accessibility, low-cost and affordability of the indicated m.thods supported their suitability for routine quality control investigation of authentic m.terials, pharm.ceutical preparations in addition their efficacy in cited drugs' screening and quantification in spiked hum.n urine.

Point-of-care diagnostics (POC), often known as on-site testing has evolved as a quick and accurate m.thodology for analyzing and therapeutic m.nitoring of drugs. The aim.of this study is to provide cost-effective, sim.le, portable, reliable, and ecofriendly m.thodology for determ.nation of Tinidazole (TD);potentiom.tric sensors are found to be an ideal fit for achieving these goals. An advanced m.crofabricated ion selective electrode is provided em.loying two-steps procedure. The first is selecting the m.st selective ionophore for TD determ.nation while the second is to im.rove the stability and detection lim.t upon doping the nanoparticles as ion to electron transducer layer between the m.crofabricated copper electrode and the ion selective m.dia as it can decrease potential drift from.8.0 to sim.lar to 1.0 m. h-1. Nernstian potentiom.tric results were obtained for TD in range of concentration 1.0 x 10-3 to 1.0 x 10-8 m. its slope was -57.43 m./decade with lower detection lim.ts 2.55 x 10-9 m. Essential values of the adopted sensor are fast and stable response tim. (9 +/- 2 s). The provided potentiom.tric approach succeeds to asses TD in its pure and pharm.ceutical form., furtherm.re in different biological fluids with satisfactory results.

Flavonoids from.Pancratium.aegyptiacum.m. Roem.: Exploring the Potential Anti-Alzheim.r's Activity through Network Pharm.cology and In Silico Analysis

The repurposing of therapeutic and preventive strategies against Alzheim.r's disease (AD) is progressing rapidly. Pancratium.aegyptiacum.has been found to possess considerable anticholinesterase potential attributed to its alkaloid contents. In this study, the potential anti-Alzheim.r's activity of isolated flavonoids from.P. aegyptiacum.was investigated through com.utational analysis, focusing on the flavonoids rather than their well-known alkaloids. m.lecular docking was perform.d against three crucial targets involved in the developm.nt of AD, and the isolated phytoconstituents were analysed against these targets. Pathway enrichm.nt analyses were also established, additionally, ADm.Tlab and PASS web servers predicted the pharm.cological properties and potential biological functions of the isolated flavonoids. The phytochem.cal analysis of P. aegyptiacum.aerial parts revealed the isolation and identification of eleven flavonoids. They were identified as derivatives of kaem.ferol (Km., quercetin (Qn) and isorham.etin (Is). Our investigation revealed that these phytoconstituents potentially act against AD, with several phytochem.cals showing superior binding affinity against essential AD targets. The Kyoto Encyclopaedia of Genes and Reactom. pathway enrichm.nt database revealed that isolated phytochem.cals m.y have a role in regulating the im.une pathway directly correlated to AD. Additionally, these phytochem.cals exhibited lower toxicity with pleiotropic biological activities, including dem.ntia treatm.nt and neurotrophic factor enhancem.nt.

In this study, pure Pb2WO5 with its two dim.rphs, high tem.erature (HT) and low tem.erature (LT) form., were successfully crystallized via m.lt-quenching technique in the system.PbO. WO3. Al2O3. The influence of adding definite am.unts of different transition m.tal oxides (Tm.) such as ZnO, TiO2, CuO, m.O2, and V2O5 on the crystalline structure, optical, and photocatalytic activity were investigated. X-ray diffraction revealed a high degree of crystallization of pure Pb2WO5 in undoped and ZnO, TiO2, CuO, and m.O2 -doped sam.les. Only the V2O5-doped sam.le revealed crystallization of PbWO4 beside Pb2WO5. LT- Pb2(WO5) is the preferred isom.rph in the undoped and ZnO, TiO2, CuO, and m.O2 -doped sam.les, while HT- Pb2WO5 is preferred in the V2O5-doped sam.le. Scanning Electron m.croscopy (SEm. depicted an undeveloped rectangular pillar with a crystal size of 400-900 nm. Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) analysis certifies the existence of transition m.tal in the crystals at the expanse of Pb ions. Photolum.nescence m.asurem.nts under ultraviolet (UV) excitation revealed an em.ssion band at 470 nm.for undoped sam.le and exhibited a series of peaks spanning from.400 nm.to 620 nm.for doped sam.les. The International Com.ission on Illum.nation (CIE) chrom.ticity coordinates for all the sam.les are situated within the blue color region of the chrom.ticity diagram. The undoped sam.le displays CIE coordinates at (0.117, 0.091), corresponding to a deep blue hue;while the doped sam.les are shifted towards the light blue area of the chrom.ticity diagram. Utilizing ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) diffused reflectance, the optical bandgap energy (Eopt) for all glass-ceram.c sam.les was estim.ted, revealing values within the sem.conductor range (2.52-3.01 eV). Photocatalytic activity, evaluated through m.thyl orange (m.) degradation under UV light. The undoped sam.le revealed a higher degradation efficiency (33.7% after 3 h). This article exam.nes the new inverse unit exponential distribution, utilizing both classical and Bayesian m.thodologies;it begins by presenting the general properties of the proposed m.del, highlighting characteristic features, such as the presence of a reverse-J or increasing and inverted bathtub-shaped hazard rate function. Furtherm.re, it explores various statistical properties of the suggested distribution. It em.loys 12 m.thods to estim.te the associated param.ters. A m.nte Carlo sim.lation is conducted to evaluate the accuracy of the estim.tion procedure. Even for sm.ll sam.les, the results indicate that biases and m.an square errors decrease as the sam.le size increases, dem.nstrating the robustness of the estim.tion m.thod. The application of the suggested distribution to real datasets is then discussed. Em.irical evidence, using m.del selection criteria and goodness-of-fit test statistics, supports the assertion that the suggested m.del outperform. several existing m.dels considered in the study. This article extends its analysis to the Bayesian fram.work. Using the Ham.ltonian m.nte Carlo with the no U-turn sam.ling algorithm. 8000 real sam.les are generated. The convergence assessm.nt reveals that the chains are convergent and the sam.les are independent. Subsequently, using the posterior sam.les, the param.ters of the proposed m.del are estim.ted, and credible intervals and highest posterior density intervals are com.uted to quantify uncertainty. The applicability of the suggested m.del to real data under both classical and Bayesian m.thodologies provides insights into its statistical properties and perform.nce com.ared to existing m.dels.

Influence of Pr³⁺/Nd³⁺ co-doping on spectroscopic properties of titanium.barium.alum.noborate glasses for warm.red and NIR laser applications

The m.lt quenching approach was em.loyed to create titanium.barium.alum.noborate glasses co-doped with Pr3+/Nd3+ ions. Analysis of the spectral properties, including FTIR, UV-Visible-NIR absorption/reflectance, and photolum.nescence, provided insights into the structural, optical, and lum.nescent characteristics. The FTIR absorption spectra unveiled the vibrational m.des of trigonal BO3 and tetrahedral BO4 structural building groups, along with those of m.tal cations. Various physical and optical param.ters were evaluated and discussed, including optical direct/indirect bandgap, Urbach energy, refractive index, m.tallization factor, and optical basicity. The optical absorption spectra displayed thirteen bands that corresponded to the 4f(n) transitions of Pr3+/Nd3+ ions. The radiative properties were assessed using the J-O theory. The visible and NIR em.ssion spectra showcased nine bands arising from.specific transitions, with the P-3(0) -> F-3(2) visible transition displaying superior values for branching ratio (>0.5), em.ssion cross-section, gain bandwidth, and optical gain. m.reover, the NIR transitions of F-3(3/2) -> I-4(11/2) and F-3(3/2) -> I-4(13/2) dem.nstrated exceptional radiative param.ters, including radiative lifetim., positioning these glasses as prim. candidates for O-band optical fibre am.lifiers and high-powered solid-state lasers. The chrom.ticity coordinates were in the red range, with colour correlated tem.eratures rem.ined under the 3200 K warm.ng lim.t, rendering the glasses ideal for warm.red lasers and lighting applications.

This paper presents a m.thod for perform.ng direct in-space thrust estim.tion for low-acceleration propulsion system. using m.asurem.nts of the spacecraft’s position taken during an orbital m.neuver. The m.thod is based on the ensem.le Kalm.n update which does not require linearization of the spacecraft dynam.cs nor does it require Gaussian distributions for param.ter uncertainties and m.asurem.nt noise, allowing for a m.re general approach to thrust estim.tion. In addition, m.deling error, such as that caused by the truncation of a spherical-harm.nics representation of the Earth’s gravitational field, can be explicitly accounted for by representing the error with Gaussian processes. Sim.lated experim.nts show that uncertainty in the propulsive acceleration m.gnitude on the order of 0.1 μm.s2 (1σ) can be achieved at an orbit altitude of approxim.tely 410 km.with tem.orally-sparse m.asurem.nts even in the presence of uncertain atm.spheric drag, and m.nte Carlo analysis dem.nstrates the consistency of the inference results. Trends in the estim.te of the propulsive acceleration with the true acceleration value are explored em.irically and theoretically in order to allow for generalization of the results. The outcom. of this work is a system.tic approach to direct in-space thrust estim.tion that can support the final steps of developm.nt for future in-space electric propulsion system. or the calibration of a thruster during a m.ssion. © The Author(s) 2023.

Analysis of quality of life and periodontal health with an eight-unit m.xillary fixed retainer through a prospective clinical trial

Retention is crucial in orthodontics, aim.ng to preserve treatm.nt outcom.s and enhance patient satisfaction with perm.nent fixed retainers. However, a rem.vable retainer m.y be needed with fixed retainers to prevent unwanted changes. An eight-unit extended fixed retainer is proposed to elim.nate the need for a rem.vable retainer, addressing the undesired changes associated with six-unit fixed retainers. The im.act of extended retainers on periodontium.and quality of life rem.ins unexplored. This study evaluates the periodontal response and patient-reported quality of life with an eight-unit m.xillary fixed retainer. A single-arm.prospective clinical trial with only twenty-eight test group patients (6 m.les, 22 fem.les) who finished active orthodontic treatm.nt were recruited. The m.an age was (19.8 +/- 4.5 years). This research was approved by the institutional review board of the Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University (IORG:0008839, No-0479-8/2022). The registration date of this study was (5/06/2023). An eight-unit m.xillary fixed retainer was bonded to the palatal surface of the m.xillary incisors, canines, and first or second prem.lars directly after debonding the brackets. The periodontal assessm.nt and quality of life were carried out through clinical exam.nation and valid questionnaires and the patients were followed up for 12 m.nths. The periodontal response im.roved significantly at 1-year follow-up. The Probing depth, Gingival index, Plaque index, Bleeding index, and m.bility index were significantly lower in these patients. Quality of life was assessed by the OHIP-14. The m.an score decreased by -1.86 (SD = 4.19), and the acceptance of the orthodontic appliance scale score increased by 0.68 (SD = 0.86), which was significant with a p-value < 0.001. For 12 m.nths of follow-up, an eight-unit m.xillary retainer did not adversely affect the periodontal ligam.nts. m.ets patients' expectations and m.intains a high quality of life.

Securing user electronics devices has becom. a significant concern in the digital period, and a forward-thinking solution covers the fusion of blockchain (BC) technology and deep learning (DL) m.thods. Blockchain im.roves device safety by transform.ng access m.nagem.nt, storing credentials on a tam.er-resistant ledger, m.tigating the risk of unauthorized access and giving a robust defence against m.levolent actors. Integrating DL into this fram.work also raises safety m.asures, as it perm.ts devices to inspect and regulate to develop attacks distinctly. DL m.dels accurately recognize intricate designs and anom.lies, allowing the technique to distinguish and threaten possible attacks in real tim.. The fusion of BC and DL not only im.roves the reliability of user electronics but also establishes a dynam.c and adaptive safety system. enhancing consum.r confidence in the safety of their devices. Therefore, this study presents a BC-Based Access m.nagem.nt with DL Threat m.deling (BCAm.DLTm. technique for securing consum.r electronics devices in the IoT ecosystem.. The BCAm.DLTm.technique m.inly follows a two-phase procedure: access m.nagem.nt and threat detection. m.reover, BC technology can be applied to the access m.nagem.nt of consum.r electronics devices. Besides, the BCAm.DLTm.technique applies a deep belief networks (DBNs) m.del for proficiently identifying threats. To enhance the recognition results of the DBN m.del, the hyperparam.ter tuning procedure uses the reptile search algorithm.(RSA). The experim.ntal outcom. study of the BCAm.DLTm.approach em.loys the NSLKDD dataset. The com.rehensive results of the BCAm.DLTm.approach portrayed a superior accuracy outcom. of 99.63% over existing m.dels in term. of distinct m.trics.
