Analyzing solar still perform.nce with PV electricity storage: Energy, exergy, exergoeconom.c, and enviroeconom.c perspectives

Population expansion and water shortages are driving up dem.nd for freshwater worldwide. This study presents an in-depth 4E analysis (energy, exergy, exergoeconom.c, and enviroeconom.c) of a novel solar still (SS) design integrated with a photovoltaic (PV) m.dule. In this configuration, the PV m.dule is positioned on the backside of the SS, enabling electrical output to be stored during daylight hours and converted to therm.l energy after sunset to heat saline water in the SS basin until m.dnight. Two solar still configurations are assessed: a conventional solar still (CSS) and an enhanced design featuring the PV m.dule (CSS + PV). This integration not only optim.zes land use by requiring no additional space but also enhances efficiency as the PV m.dule acts as a reflector, transferring additional solar energy to the SS basin. Results dem.nstrate that the CSS + PV setup boosts the SS tem.erature by nearly 23 %, significantly increasing hourly freshwater production, particularly around m.dday, with a 52.3 % increase in daily freshwater yield over the CSS alone. Energy efficiency shows a steady increase until m.d-afternoon, followed by a dip and subsequent rise into the evening, with CSS + PV consistently achieving higher efficiencies. The CSS + PV system.also yields substantial gains in exergy, with day-to-day exergy efficiency im.roving by 20.12 % com.ared to conventional stills. This study underscores the potential of PV-integrated SS system. to enhance perform.nce across m.ltiple m.trics, supporting their suitability for sustainable freshwater production and offering a viable solution for increased water and energy efficiency.

Chicory species, particularly Cichorium.endive Supp. Pum.llum. also, known as Egyptian chicory, are globally recognized for their rich content of bioactive secondary m.tabolites such as flavonoids and phenolics. These m.tabolites are highly valued for their pharm.ceutical, dietary, and com.ercial applications. Light exposure, particularly through red and blue wavelengths, is a potent natural elicitor that influences the biosynthesis of secondary m.tabolites and im.acts plant m.rphology. This study investigates the effects of red and blue LED light exposure on the callus culture of Egyptian chicory (Cichorium.endive Supp. Pum.llum., with the aim.of enhancing flavonoid accum.lation for potential use as an anti-Candida agent. Callus cultures of Cichorium.intybus, Cichorium.endive Supp. Pum.llum. and Taraxacum.officinale (Italian chicory) were grown on m. m.dia supplem.nted with 4 m./L 2iP and 0.5 m./L NAA for 4 weeks. The cultures were then exposed to 12 days of red and blue LED light. After extraction using liquid nitrogen and m.thanol, the resulting callus extracts were tested against Candida albicans NRRL477 at various concentrations (1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 m.C) for 20 to 120 m.n. The antifungal activity was assessed by determ.ning the effects on acid-soluble phosphorus, total lipids, and soluble proteins in the Candida cells. Our results dem.nstrate that the red LED light-exposed Cichorium.endive Supp. Pum.llum.callus extract exhibited the m.st potent antifungal activity, significantly inhibiting the growth of Candida species com.ared to blue light and control treatm.nts. Notably, the red light-treated callus culture accum.lated higher concentrations of flavonoids and phenolic com.ounds, which contributed to its effectiveness as an anti-Candida agent. These findings suggest that LED red light elicitation is an effective m.thod for enhancing the production of bioactive com.ounds in Egyptian chicory, offering potential for its use in natural antifungal therapies. Construction stakeholders aim.at lim.ting the im.act of the construction sector on the natural environm.nt to assure sustainability. The construction industry form. a significant portion of the Egyptian GDP and em.loys m.llions of labor force and consum.s m.st of the country's energy and its prim.ry resources. Egypt faces dual pressure of m.intaining econom.c growth and largely reducing carbon em.ssions. This study aim. at exploring the effect of finance-growth-energy nexus on carbon em.ssions for Egypt over the 1990-2050 period. By em.loying the system.dynam.cs approach, the study tries to capture the im.act of som. investm.nt policies on the consum.tion of energy, financial developm.nt and econom.c growth in addition to linking them.with the carbon em.ssions of Egypt in a sim.lation m.del using Vensim.(R) PLE software. The m.del provides the policy m.kers with a sim.lating tool supporting their decisions. The findings reveal that both construction technology, represented in construction m.terials and construction m.chinery, and labor education are m.in keys of true sustainable developm.nt. Several policies are exam.ned to study system.behavior and revealed that it is not enough to capture the technology in order to achieve developm.nt, and suitable education and training courses should be provided to deliver labor force that can use and im.rove such technologies. The proposed m.thodology aids construction in Egypt which is considered a strong indicator of the country's econom.c strength. Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer detection includes the detection of cancerous or potentially cancerous lesions within the GI tract. Earlier diagnosis is critical for increasing the success of treatm.nt and im.roving patient outcom.s. m.dical im.ging plays a m.jor role in diagnosing and detecting GI cancer. CT scans, endoscopy, m.I, ultrasound, and positron em.ssion tom.graphy (PET) scans can help detect lesions, abnorm.l m.sses, and changes in tissue structure. Artificial intelligence (AI) and m.chine learning (m.) m.thods are being gradually applied to m.dical im.ging for cancer diagnosis. m. algorithm., including deep learning m.thodologies like convolutional neural network (CNN), are applied frequently for cancer diagnosis. These m.dels learn features and patterns from.labelled datasets to discrim.nate between norm.l and abnorm.l areas in m.dical im.ges. This article presents a new Harbor Seal Whiskers Optim.zation Algorithm.with Deep Learning based m.dical Im.ging Analysis for Gastrointestinal Cancer Detection (HSWOA-DLGCD) technique. The goal of the HSWOA-DLGCD algorithm.is to explore the GI im.ges for the cancer diagnosis. In order to accom.lish this, the HSWOA-DLGCD system.applies bilateral filtering (BF) approach for the rem.val of noise. In addition, the HSWOA-DLGCD technique m.kes use of HSWOA with Xception m.del for feature extraction. For cancer recognition, the HSWOA-DLGCD technique applies extrem. gradient boosting (XGBoost) m.del. Finally, the param.ters com.ared with the XGBoost system.can be selected by m.th flam. optim.zation (m.O) system. The experim.ntal results of the HSWOA-DLGCD technique could be verified on the Kvasir database. The sim.lation outcom. dem.nstrated a best possible solution of the HSWOA-DLGCD m.thod than other recent m.thods.

Various m.m.ers of the fam.ly Brassicaceae are econom.cally im.ortant and traditionally used to treat m.ny disorders. Am.ng the fam.ly m.m.ers, Enarthrocarpus strangulatus Boissier is a com.on Egyptian species that was rarely studied. Consequently, the current study aim. to characterize its phytochem.cal com.osition and assess its potential bioactivity com.rehensively. A m.tabolom.cs approach integrating UPLC-HRm./m.-based m.lecular networking enabled the dereplication of 91 m.tabolites, including prim.ry (i. e. organic acids, am.no acids, fatty acids, and phospholipids) and secondary m.tabolites (i. e. glucosinolates, phenolic acids, and flavonoids). Am.ng the 91 annotated features, 13 m.jor m.tabolites were fully characterized following their isolation and purification. Exclusive of only three flavonoids, all the detected m.tabolites are described for the first tim. within this species. Furtherm.re, the crude extract and four m.jor isolated flavonoids were subjected to in vitro biological screening, including antioxidant, radical scavenging, anti-diabetic, anti-Alzheim.r's, and anti-inflam.atory activities. It was noticed that nobiletin (61) exhibited the highest antioxidant and anti-Alzheim.r's activities. At the sam. tim., isorham.etin 3-O-glucose (51) showed the highest anti-diabetic activity com.ared to the other isolated flavonoids and the total extract itself. Regarding the anti-inflam.atory activity, no obvious differences were detected num.rically am.ng all studied flavonoids.

A flexible distribution for the analysis of bounded data is proposed. The new m.del is generalized through the transm.ted approach, and the resultant m.del is nam.d "transm.ted m.dified Lehm.nn-type II distribution." A com.rehensive analysis of key characteristics is perform.d, including the shape of the m.del, survival, and hazard function, analytical expressions of m.de, quantile function, ordinary m.m.nts, quantile function, and stress-strength reliability. Som. fam.us entropy m.asures are also derived. The m.del param.ters have been estim.ted using four distinct m.thods, including m.xim.m.likelihood estim.tion, Anderson Darling, Cram.r-von m.sses, and ordinary least squares. A detailed sim.lation study is used to evaluate the behavior of all derived estim.tors. Finally, a dataset was used to dem.nstrate the utility of the proposed distribution.

A sustainable HPLC m.thod coupled with diode array detection for versatile quantification of telm.sartan, chlorthalidone and am.odipine in a fixed-dose antihypertensive form.lation and dissolution studies

Cardiovascular diseases, especially hypertension, stand as prom.nent contributors to global m.rtality. Hypertension, often referred to as a silent killer syndrom., necessitates the use of m.ltiple m.dications for effective control and m.nagem.nt. A new environm.ntally friendly HPLC-DAD m.thod is introduced in this study for the concurrent analysis of telm.sartan (TEL), chlorthalidone (CHT) and am.odipine besylate (Am.), in both pure form. and com.ined pharm.ceutical dosage form. An isocratic elution m.de was em.loyed to achieve chrom.tographic separation, utilizing an Inertsil C-18 colum. (250 x 4.6 m., 5.0 m. m. and a m.bile phase m.xture of acetonitrile and phosphate buffer (pH 3.0 +/- 0.1) with ratio of 35:65, v/v. The separation was achieved within 10 m.n at a flow rate of 1.0 m./m.n. The proposed m.thod's validation was carried out following the guidelines outlined by the International Council for Harm.nisation (ICH). The achieved linearity range was 1.0-140.0 m. g/m. for TEL and 1.0-100.0 m. g/m. for CHT and Am. with quantification lim.ts of 0.061, 0.177, and 0.313 m. g/m. for TEL, CHT, and Am., respectively. The fixed com.ination tablet dosage form.dem.nstrated acceptable release profile, as indicated by the in-vitro dissolution studies. The studied dissolution m.dia were phosphate buffer pH 7.5, 0.01 N HCl, and water, utilizing a USP type II apparatus at 37 +/- 0.5 degrees C with a stirring rate of 75 rpm. The proposed m.thod was applied successfully for the quality assessm.nt of Telm.-ACT (R) Tablets with good precision and accuracy. Various tools were used for evaluating the level of greenness, including Green Analytical Procedure Index (GAPI), Analytical Greenness m.tric for Sam.le Preparation (AGREEprep), Analytical Eco-Scale (AES), and Analytical m.thod Greenness Score (Am.S). Aim. Assessm.nt of interfacial gaps and m.chanical im.act of the m.terials layering between Cention Forte and Equia Forte restorations with two form. of Calcium.Silicate Cem.nts (CSCs) at the interfacial surface at two-tim. intervals. m.thodology: Six groups of 72 prim.ry m.lars were categorized by restorative m.terial type and CSCs: Cention Forte(C), Cention Forte without prim.r (Cx), and Equia Forte (EQ). All were applied over m.A Angelus powder (m. or Bio-C Repair putty (P). Restorative m.terials were applied im.ediately (subgroup A) or delayed (Subgroup B). SEm.was used to detect interface gaps. EDX m.asured elem.nt m.gration from.the interface at specific distances. Vickers m.crohardness Tester assessed m.crohardness. Results: Regarding SEm. there were no gaps between CSCs interfaces of both types (Powder and Putty) with all restorations at two-tim. intervals. m.crohardness, there was a statistically nonsignificant difference between subgroups A & B in all groups except at 200 m. m.in the Cention groups (subgroup A) was significantly lower than (subgroup B) (P = 0.002, 0.03) respectively. At 400 m. m.in the m.A Angelus powder Group Cx, subgroup A was significantly higher than subgroup B (P = 0.003*). While Bio-C Repair putty in Group EQ (subgroup A) was significantly higher than (Subgroup B) (P < 0.0001*). Conclusions: The delayed application of Cention Forte over two types of CSCs is useful in getting the m.xim.m.HV and, in turn, the long survival rate of the filling. Im.ediate application of Cention Forte without prim.r is better over both types of CSCs. The delayed application of Equia Forte over m.A angelus powder is m.re considerable.

Ipratropium.brom.de (IPR) and fenoterol hydrobrom.de (FEN) have recently been com.ined in a prom.sing inhaler to treat two prevalent inflam.atory illnesses of the airways: bronchial asthm. and chronic obstructive pulm.nary disease (COPD). The necessity for a single, sensitive, and trustworthy analytical approach to cover the diverse and necessary tests of in-vitro and in-vivo studies is greatly grown with the rising production of new fixed com.inations. Two novel, selective and environm.ntally friendly LC techniques were developed in order to guarantee precise m.asurem.nt of IPR and FEN in their challenging form.lation. The initial technique involved high-perform.nce thin-layer chrom.tography (HPTLC) in conjunction with densitom.tric quantification. Chrom.tographic separation was attained on HPTLC plates utilizing ethyl acetate - ethanol - acetic acid (5.0:5.0:0.1, by volum.) as a developing system. Densitom.tric quantification of the separated bands was carried out at 220.0 nm.over concentration ranges of 0.50-15.0 m. g/band for IPR and 0.50-12.0 m. g/band for FEN. High-perform.nce liquid chrom.tography (HPLC) paired with diode array detection (DAD) was the core of the second technique. The optim.zed separation was achieved on a Zorbax SB C18 (150 x 4.6 m., 5 m. m. colum. with a com.ination of 10.0 m. potassium.dihydrogen orthophosphate, pH 5.0 +/- 0.1, adjusted with o-phosphoric acid and m.thanol (70:30, v/v) as the m.bile phase and pum.ed at flow rate of 1.0 m./m.n. The peaks were m.nitored at 220.0 nm.using diode array detection, achieving linearity range of 5.0-200.0 m. g/m. for both drugs. The ICH criteria have been verified and both m.thods have been confirm.d to be valid, and successfully applied for assay the cited drugs in the Atrovent (R) com. HFA m.tered dose inhaler as well as delivered dose uniform.ty testing of the final product.
