Photovoltaic power prediction is crucial for maintaining the safe, stable operation, and economic benefits of the power grid. However, the long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network faces limitations in parameter selection, affecting its effectiveness in photovoltaic power prediction. Additionally, photovoltaic power data exhibits volatility and non-stationarity, leading to inaccurate predictions. To address these issues, this paper proposes a coupled model named VMD-SSA-LSTM, which combines variational mode decomposition (VMD), sparrow search algorithm (SSA), and LSTM. The model initially employs VMD to decompose photovoltaic power data, reducing the impact of volatility and non-stationarity on prediction results. Subsequently, SSA is used to optimize LSTM parameters. Finally, the predicted values from each sequence are summed to obtain the photovoltaic power prediction. Simulation experiments demonstrate the model's high adaptability in short-term photovoltaic power prediction. Compared to the LSTM model, the VMD-SSA-LSTM model exhibits superior performance in prediction accuracy, stability, and robustness. Therefore, this model provides an effective solution to enhance the accuracy of photovoltaic power prediction, contributing to the safety, stability, and economic efficiency of power grid operation. © 2024 SPIE.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is a rare malignant tumor that has predominantly affected children and adolescents in the past 50 years. The genomes of OS tumors exhibit a high degree of complexity, which leads to the great challenge of target identification for anti-OS. To date, no efficient therapeutic target for the treatment of OS has been validated in clinical practice. In our previous drug hunting for the treatment of OS by phenotypic screening, we found that thiazolone derivate (R)-8i was an effective and selective inhibitor against OS in MNNG/HOS cells and in vivo. However, the mechanism of action and specific molecular targets of (R)-8i remain unclear. In this study, we design and synthesize the photo-cross-linking probes based on the lead compound (R)-8i and identify DDX5 as a potential target protein using an activity-based protein profiling strategy. Further experiments including Western blot, shRNA knockdown experiments, cell colony formation, wound healing assays, and cellular thermal shift assays support that (R)-8i binds to DDX5 and induces its degradation, which affect cell proliferation and migration through the PI3K-AKT-mTOR signaling pathway. The research shows that DDX5 is a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of OS.

This paper introduces an MPPT control methodology utilizing the IJAVA algorithm. This approach merges the traditional JAVA algorithm with a Levy flight strategy, enabling the algorithm to evade local optima and conduct a comprehensive global search for the optimal solution., so that the algorithm can ensure the convergence speed and give attention to the convergence accuracy, further accelerate the tracking speed by optimizing the initialization position of the population, and reduce the voltage and power oscillation in the tracking process by adding out-of-bounds processing mechanism. Based on the modeling and simulation outcomes, the MPPT control utilizing the IJAVA algorithm demonstrates the capability to effectively and precisely trace the optimum power point in the presence of partial shading, as evidenced by the results. © 2024 SPIE.

Introduction: Our study aimed to assess parents' perceptions of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and their attitudes towards the RSV vaccine in China. Method: The cross-section study was performed between August 21 and November 15, 2023, in Jiangsu province, eastern China. We collected socio-demographics, awareness, knowledge, perceptions of susceptibility and severity of RSV, and attitudes towards RSV vaccine using online survey questionnaire from parents of child aged <14 years old. The chi-square test and logistic regression model to explore the associated factors. Results: A total of 2135 participants were included. About 26.0 % indicated that they had never heard of RSV (556/2135) and were unaware that infants and young children are at a high risk of contracting RSV (557/2135). The proportion of parents with a child under 1 year of age who were unaware of RSV was notably higher than that of parents with children in other age groups. 42.9 % of parents (916/2135) showed low level of perceived susceptibility of contacting RSV infection for their child. 70.6 % of parents (1508/2135) expressed their willingness to vaccinate their child against RSV. The most common reason for refusing the RSV vaccine was "Concern about vaccine's safety or side effects." 60.8 % of participants (1299/2135) considered a price of the RSV vaccine below 200 CNY (28 USD) as acceptable. Conclusion: The parents, particularly those with younger children, exhibited limited awareness and knowledge regarding RSV infection. Our study also showed the potential role of vaccine price as a barrier to the future use of RSV vaccine in China.

Investigation of the Induration Mechanism of Red Mud Pellets with Tartaric Acid Additions

Herein, tartaric acid (TA) was used as a binder to prepare red mud pellets. The effect of TA on the compressive strength and induration mechanism of the pellets containing TA was analyzed via the changes in crystal structure, functional groups, and valence states of the constituent elements. The induration mechanism of TAPE is likely the chemical reaction between TA and partial calcite along with complexation of TA with minerals containing Ca(II), Al(III), and Fe(III). The density functional theory calculation results revealed that the TA-Ca(II) complexation products in red mud were more stable than those of Al(III) and Fe(III).

Our study aims to assess the public's perceptions of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and attitudes toward the RSV vaccine and to identify associated factors in China. A nationwide cross-sectional survey conducted using an online platform between August 16 and September 14, 2023. Questions related to socio-demographics, awareness, knowledge, perceptions of susceptibility and severity of RSV, and attitudes toward the RSV vaccine were included in the questionnaire. We used the chi-square test and logistic regression model to explore the associated factors. Overall, 2133 individuals were included in this study. Nearly a quarter of participants (24.3%) indicated that they had never heard of RSV. The proportion of individuals aged over 50 years reporting never having heard of RSV (36.5%) and having a low knowledge level of RSV (55.3%) was significantly higher that of other younger age groups. More than half of individuals (55.7%) exhibited low level of perceptions of susceptibility concerning RSV infection. A total of 68.4% of the participants expressed willingness to receive the RSV vaccine. Younger age was positively associated with a higher willingness to be vaccinated. The most frequent reason for declining the vaccine was "Concern about vaccine's safety or side effects." About 60% of individuals considered a price of RSV vaccine below 200 CNY (28 USD) as acceptable. The awareness and perceived susceptibility to RSV infection were limited to the Chinese public. It is necessary to take measures to address the low awareness and knowledge of RSV and acceptability of the RSV vaccine among older adults.

Background: Synthetic cannabinoids (SCs) are currently one of the most severely abused new psychoactive substances in the world. However, there remains a notable lack of pharmacological data on the newly emerged synthetic cannabinoids. In the present study, the in vitro and in vivo pharmacological effects of the fourth-generation synthetic cannabinoids 4F-ABUTINACA and SDB-005 are determined and compared to those of the first-generation synthetic cannabinoid JWH-018. Methods: In this study, the affinities of three SCs for CB1 receptors were evaluated using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) experiments. The acute toxicity of these three SCs was assessed through the up-and-down procedure, while their cannabinoid-specific pharmacological effects were determined through tetrad assays, which examined parameters such as temperature regulation, analgesia, locomotor activity, and catalepsy. Additionally, conditioned place preference (CPP) experiments and a precipitated withdrawal tests were conducted to assess the psychoactive effects and physical dependence of the SCs. Results: SPR experiments and acute toxicity tests demonstrated that in vitro KD values were positively correlated with in vivo ED50 potency estimates. All SCs were found to induce the classical "tetrad effects" in a dose-dependent manner. Notably, all SCs displayed significant biphasic effects in CPP experiments. Following the administration of the CB1 receptor antagonist rimonabant, a significant increase in head twitches and paw tremors was observed, indicating that the physical dependence manifested after the ingestion of SCs is mediated by the CB1 receptor. Conclusions: These findings suggest that these SCs have cannabinoid-specific pharmacological effects and abuse potential, providing robust experimental data to support future regulatory efforts.

Research on alkali corrosion resistance and life prediction of glass fiber recycled concrete based on grey system theory

In this paper, four kinds of recycled concrete with 0 %, 0.5 %, 1.0 %, and 1.5 % glass fiber volume ratios were prepared to investigate the alkali corrosion resistance life of glass fiber recycled concrete in an alkaline environment. The alkali solution erosion test, uniaxial compression test, and scanning electron microscope (SEM) test were carried out, respectively. The results show that glass fiber can reduce the mass loss of recycled concrete in an alkaline environment, improve its compressive strength, and prolong its alkali resistance life. When the volume ratio of glass fiber was 1.0 %, the mass loss was reduced by 0.65 %, the compressive strength was increased by 11.22 %, and the alkali corrosion life was prolonged by 40 days, up to 183 days. Based on the grey degree theory GM(1,1), the compressive strength and corrosion resistance coefficient prediction models of glass fiber recycled concrete were established. The accuracy grade of the compressive strength prediction model and the corrosion resistance coefficient prediction model were level 1 (good), indicating that the accuracy of the prediction model was good, which provided a certain theoretical basis for the research in related fields of glass fiber recycled concrete in an alkaline environment.

A Study of the Influence of Cultural Distance on the Retention of Multinational Exhibitors

Customer retention is an important basis for International Trade shows to obtain sustained competitive advantage, and the retention of multinational exhibitors is largely influenced by cultural heterogeneity. This study intends to explore the influence of cultural distance on the retention of multinational exhibitors based on Hofstede's national culture model. It is based on an analysis of 4476 multinational exhibitors from 7 famous international trade shows in China through web crawler technology. The results reveal that total cultural distance has a significant positive effect on the retention of multinational exhibitors. However, different sub-dimensions under cultural distance may have different effects. In terms of sub-dimensions including power distance, individualism and uncertainty avoidance, the greater the cultural distance, the easier it is to retain customers. As for sub-dimensions of long term orientation, the estimated results display an opposite tendency. The findings contribute to the literature and have practical implications for international trade shows' service and management.

为了改善和提高不锈钢TIG电弧增材制造零件的成形质量和力学性能,加入小功率激光对TIG电弧进行诱导增强,对比激光加入前后的电弧形态,研究不同激光功率下制得的增材制造墙体的抗拉强度及微观组织。结果表明:激光的诱导作用能够压缩电弧,稳定堆积过程,提高堆积速度,实现墙体的低热输入堆积,提高墙体的力学性能;墙体的微观组织主要是柱状树枝晶;热量的积累使得墙体从下到上的枝晶间距逐渐增大,墙体从下到上的硬度值逐渐降低;墙体最顶部为等轴树枝晶;激光诱导电弧复合增材制造的316不锈钢墙体由奥氏体和铁素体组成。
