Structure Characterization and Model Construction of Indonesian Brown Coal

Indonesian brown coal is analyzed using C-13 cross-polarization/magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) to obtain the information and parameters of the coal structural unit. A macromolecular structural model of Indonesian brown coal was constructed on the basis of the structural parameters and elemental analysis results. The C-13 chemical shift of this model was calculated using the ACD/C-13 NMR predictor. The results indicate that the aromaticity of Indonesian brown coal is 0.3412, and the structures of aromatic carbon are mainly types of naphthalene and benzene. The ratio of bridge carbon/surrounding carbon is 0.0696. Oxygen in the structural model mainly exists in the form of phenolic hydroxyl oxygen, carboxyl oxygen, and ether oxygen, of which phenolic hydroxyl oxygen and carboxyl oxygen are the most prominent. Nitrogen atom exists in the form of pyridine and pyrrole. The peak of XRD spectra at 20-30 degrees is broad with a strong gamma width. The calculated chemical shift spectrogram of the model is highly consistent with that of the experimental results. The structural formula calculated for Indonesian brown coal is C190H170O50N2. This information will be the basis of making use of Indonesian brown coal.

Changes of Arterial Pulse Waveform Characteristics with Gestational Age during Normal Pregnancy

Arterial pulse waveform analysis has been widely used to reflect physiological changes in the cardiovascular system. This study aimed to comprehensively investigate the changes of waveform characteristics of both photoplethysmographic (PPG) and radial pulses with gestational age during normal pregnancy. PPG and radial pulses were simultaneously recorded from 130 healthy pregnant women at seven gestational time points. After normalizing the arterial pulse waveforms, the abscissa of notch point, the total pulse area and the reflection index were extracted and compared between different measurement points and between the PPG and radial pulses using post-hoc multiple comparisons with Bonferrioni correction. The results showed that the effect of gestational age on all the three waveform characteristics was significant (all p < 0.001) after adjusting for maternal age, heart rate and blood pressures. All the three waveform characteristics demonstrated similar changing trends with gestational age, and they were all significantly different between the measurements from gestational week 12-15 and the others (all p < 0.05, except for the PPG total pulse area between the first and second measurement points). In conclusion, this study has comprehensively quantified similar changes of both PPG and radial pulse waveform characteristics with gestational age.

目的了解宁夏新型冠状病毒肺炎(COVID-19)的临床分型及治疗要点。方法回顾宁夏第四人民医院2020年1月24日至2020年2月8日45例COVID-19患者的临床症状、实验室检查及影像学资料,总结分析COVID-19各型的特点及治疗方案。结果COVID-19分为轻型、普通型、重型、危重型。各型临床症状、实验室检查、胸部CT表现有各自特点。轻型患者仅表现为低热、轻微乏力等,无肺炎表现;普通病例的病程约为2周;重症病例在病程的第1周病情较重,通过治疗在第2周症状及肺部病变有所减轻。儿童病例症状相对较轻。治疗以中西医结合抗病毒方案为主。结论宁夏地区45例COVID-19患者的临床分型、治疗周期与病情不同,中西医结合治疗有效。

Uterine contraction is one of the most important indication in the labor progression. Electrohysterogram (EHG) is a promising method for monitoring uterine contraction and discriminating efficient and inefficient contractions. This study aims to analyze the difference of EHG signals between two groups. EHG signals are recorded with abdominal electrodes from 20 pregnant women, including 10 in term labor group and 10 in non-labor group. Typical linear and nonlinear characteristics of EHG signals, including root mean square (RMS), peak frequency (PF), median frequency (MDF), mean frequency (MNF), parameters from wavelet decomposition (W4, W5) and time reversibility (Tr) are extracted. These characteristics are compared between contraction and non-contraction in term labor group and non-labor group. The result shows that RMS, W4 and W5 of contraction are significantly larger than non-contraction both within term labor group and between two groups (all p<0.001). However, MDF and MNF are significantly smaller (all p<0.05). Furthermore, all characteristics of non-contraction show no significant difference between two groups, except MNF. The variability of RMS, W4, W5 and Tr of contraction are significantly larger than non-contraction both within term labor group and between two groups (all p<0.05, with p<0.001 for W5 and Tr). However, the variability of MDF, PF and MNF are significantly smaller (all p<0.05). Moreover, the variability of all characteristics of non-contractionshows no significant difference between two groups, except MNF. We have shown that characteristics of EHG signals and their variability during contraction are quite different from non-contraction. Therefore, it is feasible to separate uterine contractions and monitor uterine activity with EHG signals.

The aim of this study was to investigate the time difference (TD) between the onset of uterine contraction (UC) determined from tocodynamometry (TOCO) and identified by maternal perception. The online available Icelandic database was used to calculate TD, which was defined as the difference between when it was felt by a pregnant woman and the starting point on the UC signal recorded by a TOCO. A total of 295 TDs from 78 recordings (from a total of 33 participants;among them, 13 participants included at least 3 recordings from different gestational weeks) were analyzed with the overall mean +/- SD of TD calculated. For each individual participant with at least 3 recordings, regression analysis was then performed to investigate the relationship between the mean TD from each recording with gestational week, with their overall slope calculated. The results showed that 85.4% of TDs was within [-40, 40] s, with an overall mean TD of 3.04 s (p>0.05), indicating that there was no significant difference between the UC onset determined from TOCO and maternal perception. It was also noticed that 61.5% recordings (48 out of 78 recordings) had all positive or negative TD for all the UCs analyzed within a recording. Furthermore, the regression analysis showed that the regression line slope was negative for 10 out of the 13 participants with at least 3 recordings from different gestational weeks, resulting in that the overall slope (-2.85 +/- 5.58) was significantly negative (p<0.05), and indicating that UC onset TD decreased with gestational weeks. In summary, this study quantitatively investigated the TD between the onset of UCs determined from TOCO and maternal perception, providing scientific evidence for future studies to understand the underlying mechanism of the time sequence of UC activity determined from different techniques.

Effect of bronchopulmonary dysplasia on early intellectual development in preterm infants

BackgroundThe aim of this study was to investigate the effect of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) on the early intellectual development of preterm infants. MethodsFrom 2011 to 2015, 83 preterm infants diagnosed with BPD were recruited to the BPD group, and 89 preterm infants without BPD and 98 healthy term infants were randomly recruited to the non-BPD and term group, respectively. Neural and intellectual development according to the Gesell Development Scale were evaluated and compared between groups at 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, and 9-12 months of adjusted age for preterm infants and real age for term infants. Multivariate logistic regression was used to determine the associations between BPD and adverse neurological outcomes at 9-12 months of adjusted age. ResultsCompared with term infants, preterm infants had significantly lower developmental quotients for adaptability, gross motor, fine motor, language and social skills. At follow up, deficits in one or more neurofunctions related to adaptability, gross motor, fine motor, language and social skills were significantly more frequent in preterm children with BPD than in those with no history of BPD. BPD was independently associated with adverse neurological outcome at 9-12 months of adjusted age in preterm infants. ConclusionsEarly intelligence disturbances occurred significantly more frequently in BPD infants than in non-BPD infants. Monitoring of the development of the nervous system in BPD infants should be strengthened.

BACKGROUND: Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is the most common cause of parturient death worldwide [1]. However, most cases of PPH can be avoided. OBJECTIVE: This paper employs statistical methods to screen risk factors of PPH and calculate relevant parameters. METHODS: Multivariable logistic regression analysis was applied to obtain the regression equation and odds ratio (OR) value. The determined risk factors were assigned comprehensive and reasonable scores according to scientific relevance and reasoning according to the OR value. P-PPH values were calculated in order to assess the morbidity of PPH. RESULTS: The scores of pregnant women could be intuitively used to show the risk of getting PPH. CONCLUSIONS: Through the above methods, a comprehensive risk evaluation method of detecting PPH was developed.

The flexible adjustment of the light-emitting angle is achieved by means of combining the VCSEL chip (1) with the diffusion sheet (4). Additionally, by means of disposing the cut-off film (5) on the diffusion sheet (4), the light scattered on the cut-off film (5) is reflected back outside of the VCSEL device, thereby improving the light emergence effect.

Comparison of electrohysterogram signal measured by surface electrodes with different designs: A computational study with dipole band and abdomen models

Non-invasive measurement of uterine activity using electrohysterogram (EHG) surface electrodes has been attempted to monitor uterine contraction. This study aimed to computationally compare the performance of acquiring EHG signals using monopolar electrode and three types of Laplacian concentric ring electrodes (bipolar, quasi-bipolar and tri-polar). With the implementation of dipole band model and abdomen model, the performances of four electrodes in terms of the local sensitivity were quantified by potential attenuation. Furthermore, the effects of fat and muscle thickness on potential attenuation were evaluated using the bipolar and tri-polar electrodes with different radius. The results showed that all the four types of electrodes detected the simulated EHG signals with consistency. That the bipolar and tri-polar electrodes had greater attenuations than the others, and the shorter distance between the origin and location of dipole band at 20 dB attenuation, indicating that they had relatively better local sensitivity. In addition, ANOVA analysis showed that, for all the electrodes with different outer ring radius, the effects of fat and muscle on potential attenuation were significant (all p < 0.01). It is therefore concluded that the bipolar and tri-polar electrodes had higher local sensitivity than the others, indicating that they can be applied to detect EHG effectively.

近年来,中国掀起了超高层建筑的建设热潮,全国已有百余座300m以上的建筑建成或正在施工中。对于超高层建筑,施工过程中结构的竖向变形会带来许多问题。目前,业界对此问题非常关注,也有许多学者对此进行了研究。本文系统总结了对超高层建筑施工过程结构竖向变形问题的相关研究,包括理论研究和工程实例研究两部分。首先,总结各类影响施工期竖向变形的因素及其计算方法,并分析了以往学者提出的几个竖向变形理论计算公式的前提假设、影响因素考虑、计算精度、复杂程度等。其次,总结对比了目前工程实例研究中常用的有限元模拟方法及现场监测方案,并将几个知名工程的有限元与实测结果进行比对。然后,对国内相关规范中与施工期竖向变形相关的规范进行了梳理。最后,根据对现有研究的总结分析,提出现有研究存在的问题及亟待进一步研究的方向。
