Influence of temperature and humidity coupling on rutting deformation of asphalt pavement

In this article, ABAQUS finite-element software is used to establish an asphalt pavement structure model under high-temperature environment in summer. The changes in the temperature field and moisture concentration field of asphalt pavement are studied under the condition of 1-day continuous temperature change. The creep model is used to analyse the influence of ambient temperature and humidity on the rutting deformation of asphalt pavement. The results show that the maximum temperature of asphalt pavement can reach 60 degrees C in the high-temperature environment in summer. The temperature accumulation effect causes the temperature of the middle and lower layers to increase by approximately 10 degrees C, which easily induces rutting. Ambient humidity has a great influence on the change in moisture concentration in the upper layer. Considering the influence of ambient humidity in the high-temperature environment, the rut depth increases by 67%.

Research on alkali corrosion resistance and life prediction of glass fiber recycled concrete based on grey system theory

In this paper, four kinds of recycled concrete with 0 %, 0.5 %, 1.0 %, and 1.5 % glass fiber volume ratios were prepared to investigate the alkali corrosion resistance life of glass fiber recycled concrete in an alkaline environment. The alkali solution erosion test, uniaxial compression test, and scanning electron microscope (SEM) test were carried out, respectively. The results show that glass fiber can reduce the mass loss of recycled concrete in an alkaline environment, improve its compressive strength, and prolong its alkali resistance life. When the volume ratio of glass fiber was 1.0 %, the mass loss was reduced by 0.65 %, the compressive strength was increased by 11.22 %, and the alkali corrosion life was prolonged by 40 days, up to 183 days. Based on the grey degree theory GM(1,1), the compressive strength and corrosion resistance coefficient prediction models of glass fiber recycled concrete were established. The accuracy grade of the compressive strength prediction model and the corrosion resistance coefficient prediction model were level 1 (good), indicating that the accuracy of the prediction model was good, which provided a certain theoretical basis for the research in related fields of glass fiber recycled concrete in an alkaline environment.

The application of Recycled Aggregate Concrete (RAC) can effectively reduce resource consumption and mitigate environmental pollution. Under the coastal tidal environments, the performance of concrete is significantly impacted by environmental degradation. Incorporating fibers into RAC can enhance its performance in such special conditions. This study investigates the variations in properties of RAC with different Basalt Fiber (BF) volume ratios (0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%) under composite salt dry-wet cyclic erosion cycles (0 d, 30 d, 60 d, 90 d). The results from apparent corrosion morphology analysis, internal microstructure examination, and impermeability testing demonstrate that BF can effectively inhibit the expansion of micro cracks and micropores within the test block while improving the overall compactness of the internal structure of RAC. When the BF content reaches 1.0%, it exhibits an optimal toughening effect on RAC with significantly improved impermeability and corrosion resistance properties. Furthermore, this paper comprehensively summarizes and verifies the corrosion damage mechanism of Basalt Fiber Recycled Aggregate Concrete (BFRAC) under composite salt dry-wet cycles through chemical reaction principles. A salt solution erosion model for BFRAC is proposed to elucidate fiber crack resistance mechanisms and explain accelerated corrosion caused by ion crack channels within salt solutions. This proposed model provides theoretical support for understanding salt erosion damage in fiberreinforced concrete.

Tribological application and mechanism of epicuticular wax

The plant cuticle is a complex mixture of omnipresent, commonly monofunctional, fatty acid derivatives and taxon-specific, generally bifunctional, specialty compounds. This study explored expanded applications for these substances. Four types of plant cuticles were distilled from leaves and the resulting lipid mixtures were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. These were then used as additives for a synthetic ester lubricant. A reciprocating friction and wear testing machine was utilized to investigate the resulting tribological properties. The worn surfaces of the lower discs were observed and analyzed using optical microscopy and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry. The results reveal that cuticular waxes can modify the friction properties of the base oil. Furthermore, cuticular waxes demonstrate better performance when compared to the commercially available additive molybdenum dithiocarbamates. A protective adsorption film was identified as the reason for the improved friction reduction and anti-wear properties of the lubricant on the friction pair. This study provides a reference for the study of new types of non-sulfur, phosphorus, and other active element additives and demonstrates considerable potential for the economical utilization of plant leaf waxes.

目的:探讨乳腺癌根治术后患者开展容积弧形动态旋转调强放疗(VMAT)与固定野调强放疗(IMRT)技术的剂量学分布.方法:选取本院2022年2月至2023年6月收治的60例乳腺癌患者作为研究对象.采用随机数字表法将其分为研究组(n=30,采用VMAT技术)和对照组(n=30,采取IMRT技术).对两组患者靶区剂量分布、危及器官剂量分布、体内受照剂量分布及加速器输出机器跳数与治疗时间进行统计学比较.结果:VMAT与IMRT两种技术均符合靶区处方要求,为确保比较的可操作性,将计划靶区95%剂量统一为5000cGy.与对照组比较,研究组患者V100、D98%靶区剂量分布较高,Dmean与CI值较高,D2%、Dmax、HI值较低,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05);两组患者V106、D95%比较,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05).与对照组比较,研究组患者健侧乳腺Dlcc、Dmax、Dmean较低,健侧肺V5、Dmax较低,患侧肺V20、V30、Dmax、Dmean较低,心脏V5、V20、V30、Dmean较低,肝V5、V50、Dmax较低,脊髓Dlcc、Dmean值较低,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05);其余指标比较,差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05).与对照组比较,研究组患者V5、V10、V20、V30参数较低,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05),两组患者V40、V50参数比较,差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05).与对照组比较,研究组患者平均机器跳数较少,平均治疗时间缩短,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05).结论:对乳腺癌根治术后患者采取VMAT技术,较采取IMRT,更有利于确保靶区剂量分布均匀与适形度,减少体内受照与危及器官剂量,加速器输出机器跳数更少,治疗时间更短.

Impermeability Performance and Corrosion Resistance Mechanism of Basalt Fiber Recycled Concrete Under the Coastal Tidal Environment

The development of the modernization process has resulted in the consumption of natural resources and the accumulation of construction waste, and the environmental bearing capacity faces severe challenges to a certain extent. The recovery and reuse of concrete is one of the effective ways to alleviate the environmental load. However, pouring concrete with recycled aggregate inevitably reduces the strength of the building. More seriously, the coastal tidal environment can have a coupled effect of salt erosion and dry-wet cycles on concrete components, thereby shortening the service life of concrete. The incorporation of fibers can improve the performance of the Recycled Aggregate Concrete (RAC) under special conditions. This article analyzes the changes in the performance of concrete specimens under different Basalt Fiber (BF) volume ratios (0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, and 1.5%) and composite salt simulated accelerated erosion cycles (0 d, 30 d, 60, and 90 d). The comparison results of RAC in apparent corrosion morphology, internal microstructure, and impermeability test show that BF can inhibit the expansion of microcracks and micropores in the test block and improve the overall compactness of the internal structure of RAC. When the fiber content of BF is 1.0%, the toughening effect of concrete is optimal, and impermeability and corrosion resistance of RAC are also significantly improved. Furthermore, the corrosion damage mechanism of Basalt Fiber Recycled Aggregate Concrete (BFRAC) under the combined effects of composite salts and dry-wet cycles was comprehensively summarized and substantiated through chemical reaction principles. The paper proposed a salt solution erosion model of BFRAC, which elucidates the mechanism of fiber crack resistance and explains the accelerated corrosion mechanism of salt solution from the perspective of "ion crack channels." The proposed model provides theoretical support for the salt erosion damage of fiber-reinforced concrete. © 2023, The Author

The average multicast rate (AMR) is analyzed in a multicast channel utilizing analog beamforming with finite-alphabet inputs, considering statistical channel state information (CSI). New expressions for the AMR are derived for non-cooperative and cooperative multicasting scenarios. Asymptotic analyses are conducted in the high signal-to-noise ratio regime to derive the array gain and diversity order. It is proved that the analog beamformer influences the AMR through its array gain, leading to the proposal of efficient beamforming algorithms aimed at maximizing the array gain to enhance the AMR.

The corrosion behavior of Cu-40Zn alloy in a periodic service between simulating atmospheric and deep sea environment has been systematically studied. Results showed that a layer of protective corrosion products can be formed quickly and become defective over time. During the periodic service, the HP (high hydrostatic pressure) promotes the anodic dissolution of the base and the generation of (Cu, Zn)2(OH)3Cl, which causes expansion of the corrosion products;the AP (alternating pressure) facilitates the wetting process during dry to wet stage, and the alternating force caused by AP leads to the cracks, peeling off of the corrosion products. Severe intergranular corrosion takes place, which initiates at the beta phase and is accelerated by the combination of defective corrosion products and the drying stage.

Development and validation of a predictive model for metabolic syndrome in a large cohort of people living with HIV

BackgroundThe global prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in people living with HIV (PLWH) is on the rise in the post era of antiretroviral therapy (ART). Nevertheless, there are no validated predictive models available for assessing the risk of MetS in this specific *** study included PLWH who participated in annual follow-ups at Southern Medical University Nanfang Hospital from September 2022 to November 2023. Participants enrolled in this study were divided into the training set and validation set based on the follow-up duration. We employed both multivariate logistic regression and lasso regression to develop three distinct prediction models. Subsequently, the optimal model was determined through comprehensive analyses, including receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, calibration curve, and decision curve analysis (DCA). Ultimately, we generated a nomogram for the optimal model and analyzed the correlation between the model score and the components of *** total of 1017 participants were included in this study, with 814 in the training set and 203 in the validation set. The ultimate prediction model of MetS risk in PLWH incorporated five factors: age, CD8 + T cell counts, controlled attenuation parameter (CAP), gamma-glutamyl transferase (gamma-GT) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). The area under the ROC curve (AUC) of the model in the training set and validation set was 0.849 and 0.834, respectively. Furthermore, we revealed a significant correlation between the model score and the MetS components. Additionally, the model score revealed significant group differences in MetS and related metabolic *** study established a potential model for predicting MetS in PLWH.

Estimated Pulse Wave Velocity as a Novel Non-Invasive Biomarker for Metabolic Syndrome Among People Living with HIV

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the relationship between estimated pulse wave velocity (ePWV) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) in people living with HIV (PLWH), proposing a novel and convenient predictor for early detection of MetS in PLWH. Patients and Methods: A total of 485 PLWH were enrolled. These participants were categorized into two groups based on the estimated pulse wave velocity (ePWV) level. Demographic and clinical data were collected to investigate the correlation between ePWV and MetS. Results: The cohort of 485 PLWH was categorized into high-ePWV and low-ePWV groups based on ePWV cutoff value of 10 m/s. We observed significant differences in components of MetS including triglycerides (TG, P < 0.05), HDL cholesterol (HDL-C, P < 0.01), systolic blood pressure (SBP, P < 0.001), diastolic blood pressure (DBP, P < 0.05), and fasting plasma glucose (FPG, P < 0.001) between the two groups. Furthermore, we employed receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves to demonstrate the effectiveness of ePWV as a predictive indicator for MetS in PLWH (AUC = 0.739, P < 0.001). According to the ROC curve, the optimal cut-off value of ePWV was 7.4 m/s, and its sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing MetS in PLWH were 79.03% and 64.07%, respectively. Although the 7.4 m/s cutoff increased the false positive rate compared to the traditional cutoff, it significantly reduced the rate of missed diagnoses, effectively identifying 79.03% of PLWH with MetS. Conclusion: ePWV is a non-invasive and convenient novel biomarker with predictive capabilities for MetS in PLWH.
