Under the background of energy internet, a large influx of market entities participates in the interaction of "source network and load storage" and becomes an important resource for system regulation through the electricity marketization. Among them, the virtual power plant involves several market participators such as the distributed generation, demand side adjustable resources, distributed energy storage. The research of the operation mechanism and market-oriented trading organization for the virtual power plant becomes a popular topic in recent years. Gradient tumor microenvironment-promoted penetrating micelles for hypoxia relief and immunosuppression reversion in pancreatic cancer treatment

The tumor microenvironment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is the main block for the penetration of chemotherapy. In the tumor microenvironment, a dense matrix composed of fibrin is formed on the exterior, while the interior is featured by high reduction, hypoxia and low pH. How to match the special microenvironment to on-demand drug release is the key to improve chemotherapeutic efficacy. Herein, a microenvironment-responsive micellar system is developed to deepen tumoral penetration. Briefly, the conjugation of a fibrin-targeting peptide to PEG-poly amino acid has been utilized to achieve accumulation of micelles in the tumor stroma. By modification of micelles with hypoxia-reducible nitroimidazole which becomes protonated under acidic conditions, their surface charge is more positive, facilitating deeper penetration into tumors. Paclitaxel was loaded onto the micelles via a disulfide bond to enable glutathione (GSH)-responsive release. Therefore, the immunosuppressive microenvironment is relived through the alleviation of hypoxia and depletion of GSH. Hopefully, this work could establish paradigms by designing sophisticated drug-delivery systems to tactfully employ and retroact the tamed tumoral microenvironment to improve the therapeutic efficacy based on understanding the multiple hallmarks and learning the mutual regulation.

Kinetics of naphthalene catalytic hydrogenation under high temperature and high pressure

The catalytic hydrogenation reaction of naphthalene was carried out on the Ni-Mo/Al2O3 catalyst by using a constant-temperature fixed-bed reactor with the temperature ranging from 315 degrees C to 400 degrees C and pressure ranging from 12 to 20 MPa. The model of naphthalene catalytic hydrogenation was proposed based on the Langmuir-Hinshelwood-Hougen-Watson competitive adsorption theory, and the model parameters were estimated. The results show that the hydrogenation reaction of naphthalene to tetralin is fast, and tetralin tends to form trans-decalin, while there is no direct conversion between trans-decalin and cis-decalin. The reaction activation energy of naphthalene to tetralin is the smallest.

Marketization and Energy Poverty: Empirical Evidence from China

Along with economic growth, improving the quality of life of its citizens is a focal issue for the Chinese government. Energy poverty—a topic closely related to people’s quality of life—has received global attention. This article focuses on the relationship between marketization and energy poverty, estimating the intrinsic relationship between marketization and energy poverty by constructing panel data using the instrumental variable method. The study reveals a significant upward trend in marketization in China in recent years, with a concomitant decrease in energy poverty. The results confirm that marketization improves the quantity of energy supply and alleviates energy poverty, and that the quality of energy supply is also an effective way for marketization to impact energy poverty. However, this mechanism is mainly reflected in the fact that marketization increases the accumulation of human capital and promotes the use of clean energy, but not in the improvement of energy supply efficiency by marketization. Additionally, marketization-led increase in people’s income alleviates energy poverty. This study adds to the existing literature and provides important policy insights for market-based development and energy poverty reduction. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

BACKGROUND: Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is a standard for the diagnosis of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). However, clinically, some cases with normal results were diagnosed as GDM in the third trimester. OBJECTIVE: To establish a risk model based on energy metabolism, epidemiology, and biochemistry that could predict the GDM pregnant women with normal OGTT results in the second trimester. METHODS: Qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed to find out the risk factors, and the binary logistic backward LR regression was used to establish the prediction model of each factor and comprehensive factor, respectively. RESULTS: The risk factors including the rest energy expenditure per kilogram of body weight, oxygen consumption per kilogram of body weight, if more than the weight gain criteria of the Institute of Medicine, the increase of body mass index between the second trimester and pre-pregnancy, and fasting blood glucose. By comparison, the comprehensive model had the best prediction performance, indicating that 85% of high-risk individuals were correctly classified. CONCLUSION: Energy metabolism, epidemiology, and biochemistry had better recognition ability for the GDM pregnant women with normal OGTT results in the second trimester. The addition of metabolic factors in the second trimester also improved the overall prediction performance.

Transcytosis Mediated Deep Tumor Penetration for Enhanced Chemotherapy and Immune Activation of Pancreatic Cancer

The hyperproliferative tumor stroma of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) severely limits drug permeation and constructs an immunosuppressive microenvironment, causing resistance to chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Traditional nanomedicine mainly focuses on manipulating nanoparticles' particle size or electrical characteristics to penetrate deep PDAC through the paracellular pathway, but the transcellular pathway is often ignored. Therefore, a versatile drug-polymer conjugate PODEA-Gem-HMI is prepared and assembled into nanoparticles for the codelivery of chemotherapy drug gemcitabine and focal adhesion kinase (FAK) inhibitor defactinib. While sensing the mild acidity in the tumor microenvironment, the nanoparticle will disintegrate and release defactinib to modulate the tumor stroma. The PODEA block of the conjugate can bind with cell membranes reversibly and trigger adsorption-mediated transcytosis (AMT) for promoted tumor penetration and cellular uptake. The internalized conjugates will release gemcitabine responding to the overexpressed glutathione (GSH) for enhanced chemotherapy, and PHMI can condensate the STING monomers for prolonged spontaneous immune stimulation.

Identification of the Metabolites in Rat Urine after Oral Administration and Elucidation of the Metabolic Process of Naozhenning Granule Using LC-MS

Naozhenning (NZN) granule, a Chinese herbal formula, is widely used to treat craniocerebral trauma and promote functional recovery. In our previous study, the chemical components, as well as the serum metabolites in the male Sprague-Dawley rats of the NZN granule after oral administration were characterized. In this study, the urine metabolites in the male Sprague-Dawley rats were further investigated by ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-Q Exactive hybrid quadrupole-Orbitrap high-resolution accurate mass spectrometry. In order to identify the urine metabolites comprehensively, three sample preparation methods were used, including solid-phase extraction, protein precipitation method and solvent partition. Based on the accurate molecular weight and the fragmentation information from the MS spectra, a total of 76 urine metabolites were identified, which including 17 prototypes and 59 metabolites. The results showed that the detected urine metabolites were different for the different pretreatment methods, as some metabolites could only be detected in the particular pretreatment method. In addition, the metabolic processes of the components from NZN granule to the serum and urine were also elucidated and discussed. The results will provide useful information for further studying the relationship between the chemical components and pharmacological activity of NZN granule.

微生物燃料电池(MFC)是一种解决其他能源在环境方面不足的新技术,目前低能量输出是MFC实际应用的关键瓶颈。基于MFC工作原理,提出微生物活性差、电子迁移阻力、质子传输阻力及阴极还原反应缓慢是MFC能量输出的限制因素,并从以下5个方面综述了提升MFC产电性能策略:调节pH和选择最佳盐度,加强微生物代谢活性;改性阳极材料,降低电子迁移阻力;增强电解液电导率、优化隔膜材料及缩短电极间距减小质子传输阻力;制备高效阴极催化剂和选择优异电子受体加快阴极还原反应速率;改进MFC反应器构型,提高整体产电性能。未来,可在合成新型阴极催化剂、降低膜污染、优化微生物生长环境、制备优异的电极材料和改进MFC反应器配置5个方面开展重点研究。

Immunotherapy has emerged as a transformative treatment for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), yet its clinical benefits remain variable among patients. Early and accurate evaluation of treatment response is critical to guide therapeutic adjustments and improve outcomes. This review synthesizes recent advancements in multimodal imaging techniques—computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET)/CT, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and radiomics—for evaluating and predicting immunotherapy efficacy in NSCLC. We analyze the strengths and limitations of conventional morphological criteria (eg, RECIST, iRECIST) and highlight emerging quantitative biomarkers, including CT texture analysis, metabolic parameters (MTV, TLG), and diffusion-weighted MRI metrics. Notably, radiomics demonstrates promise in decoding tumor heterogeneity, PD-L1 expression, and immune microenvironment features, while immuno-PET probes targeting immune checkpoints offer novel insights into immune activity in vivo. Challenges such as pseudo-progression, nodal immune flare, and discrepancies between imaging responses and pathological responses are critically discussed. By integrating morphological, metabolic, and microenvironmental data, multimodal imaging enhances precision in patient stratification and therapeutic monitoring. Future research should prioritize multicenter, AI-driven radiomics validation and targeted tracer development to optimize NSCLC immunotherapy management. This review provides clinicians and researchers with new directions for utilizing multimodal imaging techniques in developing personalized treatment strategies.

浮子漂移实验能够捕捉海域表面海流的特征,为提高海上漂移物漂移轨迹预测模式的预测精度提供改进依据.通过在福建近海的浮子漂移实验,选取兴化湾、厦门湾与湾外近岸海域浮子的运动轨迹,对研究海域的表面流进行分析,并在业务化三维海洋动力模型基础上,结合拉格朗日粒子追踪法,建立了福建近海海上目标物漂移轨迹预测模式,利用浮子漂移实验对漂移模式在福建近海的适用性进行了验证.研究结果表明:湾内浮子运动主要受潮流作用,呈现往复运动的趋势;湾外浮子运动主要由外海环流驱动,有沿等深线迁移趋势,并受到潮过程作用局部形成回流.而本研究构建的福建近海海上目标物漂移轨迹预测模式的模拟结果与浮子漂移结果基本一致,并且相对于湾内的轨迹预测,湾外的模拟有更高的可信度.同时浮子漂移实验还表明FES潮流模型在台湾海峡有较高的准确度,而湾内欠佳.
