Distributed predictive motion planning of automated guided vehicles: serial versus parallel schemes

The article presents two distributed motion planning methods for dynamically coordinating multiple automated guide vehicles (AGVs) in an industrial setting, aiming to enhance their flexibility, robustness and scalability. A predictive motion model is utilized to describe the transport process mathematically as a dynamical system. Subsequently, alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM)-based decomposition techniques, both serial and parallel, are developed to coordinate the AGVs and mitigate the computational burden. The efficacy of the distributed methods is verified through testing in industrial scenarios, demonstrating that they can significantly improve multi-AGV system transport productivity with minimal computational effort. Notably, the parallel scheme exhibits superior performance in coordinating the AGVs compared to the serial scheme.

Whiten Lignin-Based Sunscreen via Fractionation and Ultrasonic Cavitation

Lignin exhibits good potential in natural sunscreens, but its dark color is still an obstacle. Herein, a strategy combining ultrafiltration and ultrasonic cavitation is developed to whiten enzymatic hydrolysis lignin (EHL). Results show that fractions with the smallest molecular weight possess the lightest color due to the lower bulk density and fewer surface chromophores. The hydrophobic aromatic skeleton and abundant phenol and carboxyl groups endow the fraction with good dispersibility and reactivity. Oil chemical sunscreen actives are effectively emulsified and encapsulated via ultrasonic cavitation. As-prepared capsules have an average diameter of 269 nm and a whiteness index of -15, representing 71% and 63% whiteness improvement compared to EHL and EHL-based capsules. The capsule-based sunscreen approaches white even under a dosage of 10 wt %. The sun protection factor of the sunscreen reaches 96 and maintains good performance at both room and high temperatures.

Morphology, Phylogeny, and Evolution of the Rarely Known Genus Admetella McIntosh, 1885 (Annelida, Polynoidae) with Recognition of Four New Species from Western Pacific Seamounts

The polynoid genus Admetella constitutes a deep-sea assemblage of polychaetes, notable for their large bodies adorned with antennal scales positioned dorsally to the bases of lateral antennae. Furthermore, the genus exhibits swimming proficiencies facilitated by elongated parapodia and flattened chaetae. Despite the frequent encounters with Admetella members during various deep-sea explorations, a substantial gap in our comprehension of their diversity, phylogeny, and evolutionary trajectories still exists. Our thorough morphological and phylogenetic investigations of specimens obtained from three seamounts located in the tropical western Pacific have unveiled six species belonging to the genus Admetella, four of these being newly identified as Admetella multiseta sp. nov., A. levensteini sp. nov., A. nanhaiensis sp. nov., and A. undulata sp. nov. The other two species of Admetella remain unidentifiable at the species level due to the loss of crucial details. Our phylogenetic analysis, grounded on 13 mitochondrial protein-coding genes and the inclusion of 12S, 16S, 18S, 28S rRNA, and ITS1-ITS2 genes, substantiates the monophyly of Admetella. Admetella is positioned at an intermediate node within the phylogenetic tree, situated between representative shallow-water and deep-sea subfamilies. The independent evolution of antennal scales within Admetella among polynoids constitutes a synapomorphy for this genus. Ancestral state reconstruction (ASR) analyses suggest that deep-sea polynoids evolved from shallow-water ancestors that possessed lateral antennae, which were subsequently lost in members inhabiting extreme marine environments, such as deep-sea hydrothermal vents and anchialine caves. The analysis further implicates that swimming ability independently evolved at least four times within the Polynoidae family.

A new species of the genus Lindaspio Blake & Maciolek, 1992 (Annelida, Spionidae) from a cold seep near Hainan Island, China

A new species of the spionid genus Lindaspio Blake & Maciolek, 1992 was collected from a cold seep near the Hainan Island at a depth of 1758 m. Morphologically, Lindaspio polybranchiata sp. nov. differs from the congeners in having a narrow, folded caruncle and more neuropodial branchiae (from chaetiger 20). The 18S, COI, and 16S sequences of the new species have been submitted to GenBank. It is the first record of the genus Lindaspio from Chinese waters. A key to all species of Lindaspio is given.

Model Predictive Path Planning of AGVs: Mixed Logical Dynamical Formulation and Distributed Coordination

Most of the existing path planning methods of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are static. This paper proposes a new methodology for the path planning of a fleet of AGVs to improve the flexibility, robustness, and scalability of the AGV system. We mathematically describe the transport process as a dynamical system using an ad hoc mixed logical dynamical (MLD) model. Based on our MLD model, model predictive control is proposed to determine the collision paths dynamically, and the corresponding optimization problem is formulated as 0-1 integer linear programming. An alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM)-based decomposition technique is then developed to coordinate the AGVs and reduce the computational burden, aiming for real-time decisions. The proposed methodology is tested on industrial scenarios, and results from numerical experiments show that the proposed method can obtain high transport productivity of the multi-AGV system at a low computational burden and deal with uncertainties resulting from the industrial environment.

The polychaete species of Capitella are widely distributed in the China seas,however little is known about Capitella taxonomy,and specimens collected from China have been identifi ed as Capitella capitata(Fabricius,1780)for more than 50 *** was considered to be Arctic and subarctic in distribution,therefore the records of *** in the China seas probably represent other species.A taxonomic study based on the samples collected from the northeast coastal water of Shandong Province reveals a diff erent species,Capitella teleta Blake et al.,2009,which is recorded in the China seas for the fi rst ***,*** can be easily distinguished from *** by the absence of neuropodial capillaries on chaetigers 8 and *** identity of *** is further supported by genetic distance and phylogenetic analyses assessed from mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I(COI)*** addition,the regeneration feature of *** was studied through whole mount immunohistochemistry and chemical *** amputation,the wound of *** was healed within 24 h,forming a signifi cant regeneration blastema by 3 days post amputation(dpa).By 5 dpa,muscle tissues regenerated,nerve fi bers also *** 7 dpa,neurites and muscle tissues are both signifi cantly ***,there are more than ten segments regenerated until 16 *** a highly opportunistic species,Capitella teleta is distributed in China,Japan,Korea,North America,and the *** is expected to be an excellent model for studying developmental genetics and evolution of regeneration.

We have studied the size-dependent optical scattering of aqueous suspensions containing Mg2Al-LDH platelets, which exhibit high total- and side-scatterings. By incorporating 3 wt% Mg2Al-LDH platelets (280 nm) in a commercial sunscreen formulation, we achieved a twofold Sun Protection Factor boost, providing a promising, high-efficient and non-toxic strategy to enhance sunscreen effectiveness. We have studied the size-dependent optical scattering of aqueous suspensions containing Mg2Al-LDH platelets, which exhibit high total- and side-scatterings.

Power marketing is one of the core businesses of power supply enterprises, which has an important impact on enterprise efficiency. Especially in the intelligent information environment, the rapid development of power supply enterprise information construction, the entire power marketing standardized and unified management, can effectively improve the efficiency and economic benefits of power supply enterprises. Therefore, based on the smart grid environment, this paper evaluates the development of the power marketing information management platform, and studies the platform's software architecture and hardware platform, trying to provide effective feasibility recommendations. Platform tests show that the designed platform data query, data update response time does not exceed 3 seconds, 4 seconds Web server CPU usage rate maintained at about 11.3%, achieved the desired results. © 2021 IEEE

Preparation of Light-Colored Lignosulfonate Sunscreen Microcapsules with Strengthened UV-Blocking and Adhesion Performance

Inspired by the UV-blocking of lignin in plants and the adhesion of catechol in mussel dopamine, light-colored lignin-based microcapsules ((OMC + BMDM)/LS-OH3-T) with strengthened UV-blocking and good bioadhesion were obtained by demethylation modification of sodium lignosulfonate (LS) and encapsulation of chemical sunscreen actives. The results show that the adhesion between LS and skin improved from 0.158 to 0.173 mN/m due to the formation of catechol groups. When (OMC + BMDM)/LS-OH3-T was used as the unique active ingredient in the sunscreen, the sun protection factor (SPF) reached 86.67, fully meeting the daily sunscreen requirement. In addition, the color of microcapsule-based sunscreen was close to pure white, which effectively solves the dark color problem of the existing lignin based sunscreens. As it demonstrates good biocompatibility, this new lightcolored lignin-based sunscreen agent has good application potential in the skincare field.
