Sporophytic control of anther development and male fertility by glucose-6-phosphate/phosphate translocator 1(OsGPT1) in rice

Coordination between the sporophytic tissue and the gametic pollen within anthers is tightly controlled to achieve the optimal pollen fitness. Glucose-6-phosphate/phosphate translocator(GPT) transports glucose-6-phosphate, a key precursor of starch and/or fatty acid biosynthesis, into plastids. Here, we report the functional characterization of Os GPT1 in the rice anther development and pollen fertility. Pollen grains from homozygous osgpt1 mutant plants fail to accumulate starch granules, resulting in pollen sterility. Genetic analyses reveal a sporophytic effect for this mutation. Os GPT1 is highly expressed in the tapetal layer of rice anther. Degeneration of the tapetum, an important process to provide cellular contents to support pollen development, is impeded in osgpt1 plants. In addition, defective intine and exine are observed in the pollen from osgpt1 plants. Expression levels of multiple genes that are important to tapetum degeneration or pollen wall formation are significantly decreased in osgpt1 anthers. Previously, we reported that At GPT1 plays a gametic function in the accumulation of lipid bodies in Arabidopsis pollen. This report highlights a sporophytic role of Os GPT1 in the tapetum degeneration and pollen development. The divergent functions of Os GPT1 and At GPT1 in pollen development might be a result of their independent evolution after monocots and dicots diverged.

The oxidase-like activity of high-performance Fe-N-C was enhanced by up to 55% by using a secondary N-containing precursor in pyrolysis. Moreover, the exploration of the O-2 activation half-reaction using electrochemical methods was disclosed to be a practically facile approach to quantitatively evaluate the factors associated with the activity.

BackgroundThe objective of this study is to investigate the mechanism by which low-level laser stimulation promotes the proliferation of intraepithelial hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) in wounds. This research aims to expand the applications of laser treatment, enhance wound repair methods, and establish a theoretical and experimental foundation for achieving accelerated wound *** experimental approach involved irradiating a cell model with low-level laser to assess the proliferation of HFSCs and examine alterations in the expression of proteins related to the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. A mouse back wound model was established to investigate the effects of low-level laser irradiation on wound healing rate, wound microenvironment, and the proliferation of HFSCs in relation to the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling *** research findings indicate that low-level laser light effectively activates the Wnt signaling pathway, leading to the increased accumulation of core protein beta-catenin and the upregulation of key downstream gene Lef 1. Consequently, this regulatory mechanism facilitates various downstream biological effects, including the notable promotion of HFSC proliferation and differentiation into skin appendages and epithelial tissues. The discovery and development of contemporary concrete have made substantial contributions to the industrial revolution and urbanization over the last two centuries. The tremendous use of concrete results in a large amount of solid waste and considerable carbon emissions. The effort on waste concrete recycling is significant and vital in light of the national strategy of "carbon peaking and neutrality". The previous research on the recycled concrete focused on the traditional ideas of aggregate substitution and parameter modification to normal concrete. However, new ideas for waste concrete recycling and low-carbon application of recycled concrete should be further investigated. The theory and methods of concrete composition, decomposition, and recycling are examined. In general, the synthesis of concrete necessitates managing the characteristics of raw ingredients to increase overall performance. A mature concrete synthesis system was established by the steady physical qualities of sand and gravels, the hydration reaction of cementitious materials, and scientific combination design. Furthermore, the changes in the physical qualities of concrete components provide a theoretical foundation for crushing and sieving to produce recycled materials. To make recycled concrete (RC), recycled aggregates (RAs) and recycled powder are employed. However, the use of RC is complicated by the uncertainty of raw material sources, variations in the hydration process and microstructures, and discrepancies in basic attributes. Multi-way modification strategies have been developed to improve the qualities of RAs and RC to realize the conversion of difficult-to-control wastes into controllable recycled materials. The qualities of RC are improved and the variability of these features is reduced by incorporating artificial intelligence technologies into the mixture design of RC based on big data. Optimizing planting density and nitrogen application to enhance profit and nitrogen use of summer maize in Huanghuaihai region of China

Low planting density and irrational nitrogen (N) fertilization are two common practices in conventional cropping of smallholder maize production in Huanghuaihai region of China. A 2-year field experiment was carried out to study the effects of N application and planting density on maize phenology, dry matter accumulation, profit, yield, N uptake and efficiency indices. The experiments included three N application levels (120 kg ha(-1), N1;180 kg ha(-1), N2;240 kg ha(-1), N3) and three planting densities (60,000 plants ha(-1), D1;75,000 plants ha(-1), D2;90,000 plants ha(-1), D3). Increasing N input and planting density delayed the physiological maturity and enhanced dry matter accumulation. Comparing with the traditional N3 level, grain yield and profit were kept stable at N2 level and decreased at N1 level, partial factor productivity of applied N (PFPN) and nitrogen efficiency ratio (NER) were increased with the decreasing of N level. Comparing with the traditional D1 density, grain yield, profit and PFPN were increased at D2 density and then kept stable at D3 density, NER was kept stable at D2 density and then decreased at D3 density. Based on the predicted maximum profit, the optimal combinations of N application and planting density were 199 kg ha(-1) and 81,081 plants ha(-1) in 2017, and 205 kg ha(-1) and 84,782 plants ha(-1) in 2018. The two optimal combinations had an increase of 17.6% for grain yield, 39.8% for PEPN, 3.6% for NRE than the traditional N3D1 treatment. Therefore, an appropriate combination of increased planting density with reduced N application could enhance profit and nitrogen use of summer maize in Huanghuaihai region of China.

为了开发将煤液化油中的重质芳烃组分经过预加氢处理后作为循环供氢溶剂工艺,以菲为模型化合物,在Ni-Mo/Al2O3催化剂上,利用恒温固定床反应器,进行了菲催化加氢反应行为研究。考察了不同体积空速(1.0~4.5 h^-1)、总压(14~20 MPa)、温度(300~400℃)对反应结果的影响,并结合Aspen平衡反应器模型对实验结果进行了分析。结果表明,实验条件下各反应均未达到热力学平衡。根据Langmuir-Hinshelwood-Hougen-Watson(LHHW)竞争吸附理论,计算了菲催化加氢的反应动力学,动力学结果表明,在煤直接液化条件下,Ni-Mo/Al2O3催化剂有利于菲的深度加氢,反应主要通过菲→二氢菲→八氢菲→全氢菲路径进行,可以通过适当增大空速和降低反应温度来控制菲的深度加氢,到达控制菲的加氢产物分布目的。

Microbial Proliferation Deteriorates the Corrosion Inhibition Capability, Lubricity and Stability of Cutting Fluid

The microbial diversity and the effect of microorganism on cutting fluids were analyzed. The surface cutting fluid from the machine tool tank was dominated by aerobic bacteria, while the bottom mainly harbored anaerobic and facultative microorganisms, with Yarrowia lipolytica being the dominant fungus. The obligate anaerobic bacteria were present in the cutting fluid. The secretion of acidic substances and the consumption of triethanolamine and rganophosphate esters led to a significant decrease in the cutting fluid pH and corrosion inhibition capability. Moreover, during the late stage, the number of fungi increased. The resulting fungal mycelium and porous extracellular polymeric substance secreted by microorganisms caused flocculation of the effective components in the cutting fluid, resulting in reduced lubricity and poor stability. © 2024, The Authors. In this paper, a design method for a linearly polarized antenna is proposed by combining the principle of optical holography and the structure of a center-fed parallel-plate waveguide. By loading the slit cell at a specific location in the top layer of the parallel plate, the slit cell can generate a beam by coupling a reference wave excited by a feed. And by adjusting the slit orientations, linearly polarized light beams can be generated in different directions. The antenna offers the advantages of a low profile, small size, and eliminates the need for a separate feed network. Also, to enhance the gain of this antenna, we propose a method to load the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) around the antenna. The gain of the metasurface is further enhanced by reducing the reference wave energy leakage, and finally the correctness of the method is verified by electromagnetic simulation results.

Positioning accuracy is of great significance for industrial robots in high-end industries. In addition to kinematic parameter errors, there are also some dynamic parameter errors, which are nonlinear. This paper proposes a novel method to improve the positioning accuracy of industrial robot, which takes both kinematics and dynamics parameter errors into account. Firstly, the method uses improved Denavit-Hartenberg (DH) model to establish kinematics model and identifies the geometric errors. Then, the deformation of the joint is analysed, and the angle deviation of each joint due to the end load is compensated. Finally, the accuracy improvement experiment is carried out on 6R robot. The experimental results show that the method is very effective. © 2021

Electrochemically Lighting Up Luminophores at Similar Low Triggering Potentials with Mechanistic Insights

Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) with high electrode compatibility and less electrochemical interference has conventionally been envisioned by lowering the oxidative potential of luminophores and/or screening luminophores with a low oxidative potential. Herein, an alternative was developed by employing the environmental-friendly carbohydrazide as a coreactant, which enabled serial luminophores with oxidativereduction ECL at one similar low triggering potential around 0.55 V versus Ag/AgCl, including Ru(bpy)(3)(2+ )as well as CdTe, CdSe, CuInS2/ZnS, and Au nanocrystals. Because the eight-electron releasing process of carbohydrazide was electrochemically triggered at similar to 0.25 V versus Ag/AgCl, the radicals generated via electrochemical oxidation of carbohydrazide could reduce the luminophores at a much lower potential than those of traditional coreactants. All the luminophore/carbohydrazide systems exhibited one ECL process around 0.55 V, which was about 0.65 V lower than that of a traditional Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)/tri-n-propylamine system (typically around +1.2 V), and even lower than the oxidative potential of some luminophores. The ECL of the luminophore/carbohydrazide system was spectrally close to that of the corresponding luminophore/tri-n-propylamine system;the maximum emission wavelength of the low triggering potential ECL could shift from 540 to 783 nm via the selection of luminophores in this case. The coreactant screening strategy would be a favorable addition to the expected luminophore screening strategy for achieving enhanced ECL performance. This work created an avenue toward a deeper understanding of the ECL mechanism.
