In this paper, we introduce a notion of capillary Schwarz symmetrization in the half-space. It can be viewed as the counterpart of the classical Schwarz symmetrization in the framework of capillary problem in the half-space. Epigenetic dysregulation is prevalent in human cancers, affecting gene expression and metabolic patterns to meet the demands of malignant evolution and abnormal epigenetic processes, and resulting in a protumor immune microenvironment. Tumors require a steady supply of methionine for maintaining epigenetic flexibility, which is the only exogenous precursor of methyl donor S-adenosylmethionine for methylation, crucial for their resistance to therapies and survival in a nutrient-deficient microenvironment. Thus, tumor cells upregulate the Lat4 transporter to compete and deprive methionine in the microenvironment, sustaining their malignant phenotypes and also impairing immune cell functions. Addressing this methionine addiction is the key to overcoming drug resistance and improving immune response. Despite the challenge of lacking specific Lat4 inhibitors, an oxaliplatin prodrug crosslinked fluorinated polycation/anti-Lat4 small interfering RNA complex nanoregulator (AS-F-NP) has been designed and developed here. This nanoregulator restricted the greedy methionine uptake of tumor cells by knocking down Lat4, which in turn inhibited the malignant evolution of the tumor while restoring the viability and function of tumor-infiltrating immune cells.

Investigation of mechanical and electronic properties of a novel quaternary transition-metal nitride Ti0.25W0.25V0.25Ta0.25N

Multi-element transition-metal nitrides possessing combinations of outstanding mechanical and physical properties have attracted increasing attention due to its potential applications. Here, a new transition-metal nitride alloying four metal elements of Ti, W, V and Ta is proposed, in which the doping ratios of these four metal elements are equal. Using an improved structure searching method, the potential structures with low enthalpies were fully explored. An orthorhombic structure was firstly disclosed and verified to be its ground-state phase. It is the most energetically favorable structure in the pressure of 0 similar to 100 GPa. The phonon spectrum calculations demonstrated its lattice dynamical stability. Systematic study of its mechanical properties showed the orthorhombic structure not only possessed a large hardness of 32.4 GPa but also behaved a large indentation shear strength of about 30 GPa, greatly exceeding its well-known fcc-B1 phase (about 15 GPa). Meanwhile, we also compared the orthorhombic phase to its disordered structure within B1 phase by generating special quasirandom structures (SQS) with a 3 x 3 x 3 supercell (216 atoms), which can be viewed as its high-entropy phase. The results displayed this SQS system had comparable hardness and strength but greatly improved ductility and toughness relative to the ordered B1 phase.

In this paper, we first prove a rigidity result for a Serrin-type partially overdetermined problem in the half-space, which gives a characterization of capillary spherical caps by the overdetermined problem. In the second part, we prove quantitative stability results for the Serrin-type partially overdetermined problem, as well as capillary almost constant mean curvature hypersurfaces in the half-space. Aiming at the demand of mileage statistics, work area statistics, fault site return and related data automatic retention in the current agricultural machinery reliability appraisal process, the optimization of agricultural machinery video monitoring system based on artificial neural network algorithm was studied. Together with the new video monitoring technology, the agricultural machinery GPS, GSM and fuel consumption recorder technology are combined to realize the functions of real-time data transmission, monitoring, analysis and statistics. Aiming at intelligent fault analysis, a real-time online detection mechanism is proposed, and a cloud collaborative detection mechanism is proposed to solve the problem of inaccurate offline model detection. Use plane map or satellite map to browse. Thus, an online monitoring and visual testing platform for agricultural machinery faults without real-time monitoring records is established. Finally, the test platform is tested and applied. Test results show that the algorithm can greatly shorten the training time and improve the accuracy of training model detection. With the increase of online training iterations, it is helpful to improve the detection accuracy of the generated model. In a word, the system service platform can provide scientific and transparent data for agricultural machinery fault identification, ensure the scientific, open and fair principles of agricultural machinery fault identification, and greatly improve the efficiency of agricultural machinery management.

Owing to the high thermal stability and superior mechanical properties, the transition-metal (TM) diborides have been proved to be a class of promising hard materials used as protective films. In the present work, a new type of ternary diborides Sc0.5V0.5B2, Sc0.5Nb0.5B2 and Sc0.5Ta0.5B2 alloyed by doping the TM scandium into VB2, NbB2 and TaB2 are systematically investigated using first-principle density functional theory (DFT) calculations. These ternary systems all possess higher hardness of up to about 45 GPa relative to their parent binary diborides ScB2, VB2, NbB2 and TaB2, suggesting they could be viewed as promising candidates of superhard materials. An improved structure searching approach was employed to explore the potential stable and metastable structures of them under the pressure of 0 similar to 100 GPa. The hexagonal AlB2-type structure (P6/mmm) was confirmed to be their ambient phase, which can retain the stability up to 100 GPa. Meanwhile, their ideal tensile and pure shear strengths all reached about 40 GPa, demonstrating their superhard nature. The origin of the enhanced mechanical properties of these ternary systems was resolved in details by electronic analysis at fundamental level. Thanks to the introduction of the Sc, the p-d interactions between TM and B atoms are greatly enhanced. This remarkable enhancement of p-d coupling hybridization together with the pure covalent B-B bonds results in their high hardness property.

Molecular Thermodynamic Model for Improving Lateral-Flow Immunoassays Integrating Aqueous Two-Phase Systems and Signal Enhancement

Polymer-salt aqueous two-phase systems (ATPSs) represent liquid-liquid extraction systems that have been used in diagnostics to preconcentrate biomarkers. A novel technology known as the ATPS-automated concentration and enhancement of the lateral-flow immunoassay (ACE-LFA) was recently developed, combining the preconcentration capabilities of ATPS with nanozyme signal enhancement to improve the sensitivity of the lateral-flow immunoassay (LFA), a paper-based diagnostic. The device automatically and sequentially delivers reagents to the detection zone by relying on ATPS macroscopic phase separation on paper. This technology critically relies on the selective partitioning of a relatively hydrophobic signal enhancement reagent and the target biomolecule to opposite phases of the ATPS, which ensures that the enhancement reagent is only delivered to the detection zone after the target biomolecule has bound to the test line as this minimizes premature signal enhancement and improves the test line intensity. Consequently, the ideal combination of enhancement reagent and ATPS is one in which the reagent partitions selectively into the lagging, polymer-rich phase of the ATPS. We therefore chose to predict this partitioning behavior by applying the Universal Quasichemical Functional-Group Activity Coefficient (UNIFAC) thermodynamic model. Using this model with no fitted parameters, the partition coefficients of two signal enhancement substrates, 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) and 3,3 '-diaminobenzidine (DAB), in a polymer-salt ATPS were predicted and compared with our experimentally measured values, demonstrating the ability to predict which enhancement reagent partitions more favorably into the polymer-rich phase. We also confirmed that when the enhancement reagent partitions more extremely into the polymer-rich phase, it results in improved ACE-LFA tests with darker test lines. In pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), stromal cells and matrix proteins form a dense physical barrier that, while preventing the outward spread of tumor cells, also limits the penetration of drugs and CD8+ T cells inward. Additionally, the overactivated TGF-beta/SMAD signaling pathway further promotes matrix proliferation and immune suppression. Therefore, crossing the stromal barrier while preserving the integrity of the stroma, releasing drugs intratumorally, remodeling the stroma, and activating the immune system is a promising drug delivery strategy. In this work, a type of enamine N-oxides modified nanoparticle was prepared, with stearic acid-modified gemcitabine prodrug (GemC18) and pSMAD2/3 inhibitor galunisertib encapsulated. The peripheral enamine N-oxides can trigger transcytosis and then respond to hypoxia and acidic microenvironments, turning the surface charge of the nanoparticles to a positive charge and enhancing penetration. The released galunisertib inhibits the TGF-beta/SMAD signaling pathway, reshapes the matrix, activates antitumor immunity, and combines with gemcitabine (Gem) to kill tumor cells.

Nowadays, plant allelopathy, as a new type of biological algal and/or bacterial inhibition technology, has attracted extensive attention. Eight substances were isolated and identified from Jussiaea stipulacea Ohwi, and five concentration gradients, as well as a control (0, 1.25, 5, 10, 20, and 50 mg/L) were set, with three parallels in each group, and then sampled and detected at 24, 48, 72, and 96 h. When the concentration was 50 mg/L, the inhibition rate of Anabaena was as high as 74.8%, 69.2%, and 70.7% for ursolic acid, kaempferol, and luteolin, respectively. Streptococcus iniae and Aeromonas hydrophila were cultured to a logarithmic phase, and their final concentrations reached 1000, 500, 250, 125, 62.50, 31.25, 15.63, and 7.81 mu g/mL. Luteolin and gallic acid showed an inhibitory effect on S iniae and A hydrophila at 1000 mu g/mL. We found that allelochemicals also had a certain bacteriostatic effect, among which luteolin has great development potential.
