Two new chlorinated phenyloxazole glycosides, named rosellosides A (1) and B (2), were isolated from the endophytic fungus Rosellinia sp. Glinf021, which was derived from the medicinal plant Glycyrrhiza inflata (Leguminosae). Both compounds were rare chlorinated polyketide glycosides bearing an oxazole moiety. Their structures were elucidated by analysis of the NMR and HRESIMS data, and their absolute configurations were determined by quantum chemical ECD calculations and X-ray crystallography.

Multienzymatic cascade system (MCS) strategies have been a topic of growing interest in the electrochemical biosensor research field owing to their many advantages. By combining two or more enzymes in an appropriate manner, MCS approaches can extend the range of detection for particular analytes while improving the overall efficiency of biocatalytic cascade reactions. Compared with mono-enzyme biosensors, the integration of MCS and electrochemical biosensor platforms is inherently more challenging owing to the increased complexity of the resultant system. In recent years, substantial progress in the development of MCS-based electrochemical biosensors with enhanced analytical performance has been made. This review provides an overview of the types of MCS strategies and their biosensor applications, together with a summary of synergistic optimization approaches that can help improve key parameters including sensitivity, selectivity, and stability when designing MCS-based electrochemical biosensors. These discussions include examples of published biosensor platforms (2016-2024) while also surveying key advances in associated research areas including redox mediators/enzyme coimmobilization, enzyme engineering, multienzyme spatial regulation, enzyme-nanozyme integration and others. Lastly, a brief overview of current challenges and future perspectives pertaining to MCS-based electrochemical biosensor design is provided.

Manginoids A-G (1-7), seven monoterpene-shikimate-conjugated meroterpenoids with a spiro ring system, were isolated from Guignardia mangiferae. Compounds 1-4 are four isomers with epimeric and double-bond isomeric features possessing a 6-oxaspiro[bicyclo[3.2.1]octane-3,5 '-indene] ring, which represent the first examples of spiro meroterpenoids bearing a bridged spirocyclohexanedione moiety. Compounds 5 and 6 possess an unexpected 2,4-dioxatricyclo[3.3.1.0(3,7)]nonane motif, which fuses with a 6-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]octane moiety. Compound 1 exhibits inhibitory activities against 11 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 with an IC50 value of 0.84 mu M.

Carbon dioxide sequestration is a crucial strategy for achieving carbon neutrality. This study explores a novel approach to carbon dioxide storage in marine environments in the form of hydrate, addressing the stringent site requirements of traditional geological storage methods. Using a custom-developed simulator, a conceptual model for carbon dioxide sequestration in subsea reservoirs under a horizontal well network configuration was constructed. Key factors, including seawater depth, injection depth, and well spacing, were analyzed through simulations to quantify carbon dioxide storage capacity and assess associated risks under various sequestration scenarios. The results indicate that increasing seawater depth boosts both COQ storage capacity and safety, while deeper injection enhances safety but reduces hydrate storage capacity and raises leakage potential. Closer well spacing improves early-stage safety but increases long-term risks. The study outlines distinct sequestration stages and provides detailed analyses of COQ migration and phase transformations over time, contributing insights for advancing COQ sequestration strategies.

Natural gas hydrates are a promising and environmentally sustainable energy resource, but their commercial production remains challenging. External heating is crucial for improving production efficiency. In this study, we employed a self-developed simulator (IGG-hydrate) to compare the thermal performance of three key heating methods: electric heating (EH), steam injection (SI), and hot water injection (WI). Quantitative indicators, including heating and depressurization thresholds, were introduced to assess the effectiveness of each method. The results demonstrate that external heating significantly facilitates hydrate dissociation, with electric heating and steam injection showing comparable gas production rates and early-stage efficiency. However, both electric heating and steam injection methods can cause localized overheating near injection wells, leading to energy inefficiency. In contrast, hot water injection achieves a more uniform temperature distribution and a broader heating range, while avoiding excessive temperature rise. However, it also reduces depressurization efficiency and increases subsidence near the wells. To optimize performance, we propose a steam-water alternating injection strategy: steam is injected initially for rapid dissociation near the wells, followed by hot water injection to extend the heating range and maintain thermal efficiency with the same equipment.
